Summary: I adore the Black Adder!
Review: The comedy is wry, dry and very, very cruel. I especially like Volume 3. Really well done, I never tire of them. They're the only tapes I won't lend out! Now I'm just waiting for "Back and Forth" to be released on VHS. What's the hold up??!!

Summary: But if she sees his head on a spike . . .
Review: . . . she'll realize that he's DEAD! But I digress. I do disagree with some viewers - I think the Forth is the weakest series but I may be simply prejudiced against this dreary century. I believe it's part of the cunning plan that the Edmunds become less stupid as they become less rich. I'm familiar with PM Pitt, but what about Lady Hamilton? The scary thing is that I actually find Black Adder II attractive!

Summary: Absolutely Fabulous
Review: I saw this series for the first time while I was in England... and it was one of the best things I brought home with me. It's hilarious, brilliant in acting and production and a must see for anyone who has a sense of humour.

Summary: ROFLMAO
Review: I used to watch this show in college on the local PBS station. Been looking for the whole collection for a long time. Absolutely hilarious.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: My friend bought this set about a year ago and we sat in front of the TV until we watched every last second of every tape. Absolutely hilarious! classic no matter what way you look at it.

Summary: Now THIS is funny!
Review: From the opening scene of Black Adder I (where Richard III says "Now is the summer of our total contentment") to the closing of Black Adder IV (where Baldric explains how to make coffee out of mud, spit, and dandruff) no other series has ever walked the tightrope between high and low humor so successfully. One episode might parody a Shakespearian comedy-of-errors, while the next turns on the discovery of a "rude" turnip. Whenever I'm down, I pop in the "Head" episode featuring "Ploppy the jailer", son of "Ploppy the slopper", who is know for his wide variety of skin ailments.

Summary: Get it now!
Review: You have no idea how much fun you are missing out on. This is the funniest series I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Forget Bean, Black Adder is over the top, witty, raunchy as hell, and god is it funny. One of the sadest days I can remember is when this series ended.

Summary: I have a cunning plan . . .
Review: I would have given it five stars if not for the rather weak first season, where Rowan Atkinson's character really hadn't developed the nasty, sarcastic edge he would have in the next 3 seasons - his character was more a bumbler than a scoundrel. The thing that redeems the first season is the hilarious perfomance by Brian Blessed (who projects his voice to the balcony in typical Brian Blessed fashion) as Richard IV. If you love history I definitely recommend the whole series. In my opinion it's hard to decide whether the second and third seasons are better; the second season features Miranda Richardson as a dotty Elizabeth I and a laugh-out loud episode featuring Miriam Margolyes as Blackadder's Puritan aunt; and the third season has a hilarious episode with Robbie Coltrane as Samuel Johnson. If you hate Mr. Bean (as I do) this is a chance to see the REAL Rowan Atkinson in the role that SHOULD have made him famous and been the subject of his movie debut.

Summary: Thanks to Black Adder, comedy has reasons to be called so!
Review: It is just terrific, splendid, supra_normal...in a word it is absolute sense of humor. The result is that ,now , i am almost addicted to this serie .I can't prevent myself from laughing when i happend to think about one of the so numerous puns and jokes that makes The Black Adder such a great comedy. If you want to laugh to death just buy it...elseway you will miss absolute humor. Malek. A French man addicted to you know what.

Summary: THE BEST COMEDY EVER
Review: Ever since I first rented the 4 Blackadder series' from my local library (I have since bough tthe 8-tape set, and christmas carol), i have been laughing spontaneously on the street, recalling a joke from BLACKADDER. "It's a good thing I wore wore my corset, because I think my sides have just split" -just one of the many great lines of Blackadder. I don't know which of the Blackadders I like the most, but I have to defend The Black Adder, a.k.a. Blackadder I.It's not not funny, it's just different. Edmund's an idiot and Baldrick's a little clever (doesn't seem right), but it turns out pretty funny. The funniest epsiode in each series: BA1: Queen of Spain's Beard BA2: Bells BA3: Sense and Senility (the 2 actors) BA4: I can't decide!
