Summary: Bam's Mom is HOT!!!!
Review: Bam's stunts are stupid and boring.

But his mom, April, is the sexiest woman on television. Its well worth the price of the DVD just to gaze at this goddess.

Summary: sure SOME of it may be scripted, but its entertaining
Review: i know there have been rumors and possibilities that some of the stuff on this show are scripted. with some of the stuff that the crew does, it very well may be, but hey, its entertaining. it's meant to be fun. thats why this show is so fun to watch. many think bam sold out with this show, but viva la bam is just a little side thing to welcome newcomers to bam and the crew. although his cky videos will always be better, this dvd is pretty solid. good music music videos(cky, clutch, turbonegro, and a dicamillo song) and the deleted scenes are great. the deleted scenes complete this dvd, they are absolutely hilarious. so don't be so critical, watch it to laugh, not to rip it apart.

Summary: An awful present
Review: I received this as a present, and was not familiar with the show whatsoever. In fact, I was hardly even familiar with Jackass, believe it or not. I have seen a few minutes of it in the past, but I wasn't impressed. Nonetheless, I went into this spin-off with an open mind.

I was still unimpressed. I found hardly a redeeming feature, beyond that it was at least on DVD. It is nothing but puerile gags presented in a haphazard, unconscious structure that makes the obnoxious humor almost maddening. It's seemingly centered around Bam's jovial grin, because the jokes aren't funny in themselves, but the crew does a whole lot of forced laughter anyway. I laughed for one second during the first episode while I was getting familiar since he looked like he was having such a good time. I tried to like it, but even if all of the happiness expressed was real, you don't buy a DVD just to see other people laugh. I'm happy if Bam is having a good life, but this show is stupid.

The humor is bad enough, but there are further problems when you consider that these pranks are pulled on unsuspecting parents, but it's obvious that this is all scripted to the bone. His parents voice disbelief while a camera crew bangs around the living room for a dramatic shot to emphasize their surprise. It's hard to stomach after the first few.

Regardless, I don't recommend you give it to anyone for a present. Make it your own guilty pleasure. If it matters, I also received "The Simpsons: Season 5" for Christmas, and I strongly recommend you buy that instead, or better yet, Season 4.

I'm going to tell my friend that it was okay, so I don't hurt her feelings over something this lame.

Summary: Not for pseudo-intellectuals...
Review: I'm reading some of the other reviews for this show and having trouble stomaching what they say. First and foremost, I have to say that I watched the entire series and never even thought of it as a reality show. Other reviewers say stuff like "It's so scripted!" like we should be shocked. It's just as scripted as all the other "Reality" TV garbage out there. The difference is it's actually entertaining as opposed to just being deceptive. Watch a show like Survivor (a crapy soap opera on an island) or the real world and tell me there aren't camera men shuffling around for 20 minutes before every shot and I'll tell you you're naive. Viva La Bam may be transparently scripted, but the subject matter is light hearted enough that you don't have to care. There's no "who's gonna win the million" or "who will be the next great standup comedian (I loved the one episode of that show I watched, where Drew Carey called them on how fake it was.)" BS trying to force an emotional reaction from our basest emotions. For half an hour, you can watch someone try to push an elephant through the front door, build a skate park in his house, and fluster his gibbering uncle. At least you wont be watching The Bachelor or some other creativity-bankrupt Survivor rip-off.

The whole point is that, Scripted or not, Bam and his crew AND his family (like it or not) are all having way more fun than most of us are. Apparently that pisses some people off. But the way I see it is, at least they are giving us a Front Row Seat.

PS: By the way, someone said that the DVD had no features worth having. Obviously they didn't bother watching it, cause in my mind, the bit where Raab gets hypnotized in Vegas is worth the price of the set. Very real, and Very Funny. Also, I went to a HIM concert recently and was annoyed half to death by all the Bam Fangirls. But I don't blame Bam or HIM for the fact that so many teenage girls are nuts for them.

Summary: TO: Devachan
Review: If you don't like the show so much then how come you wasted your own time to come here and write stuff like that. You just don't have a life of your own, and want to take yout misery and share it with the people who love it. "Viva la Bam" might be far fetched and at some times stupid, but if you knew Bam, and the rest of the crew then you would know what they are all about. I think that show is great and I can't wait for the next season to air. Thanks to Bam, Ape, Phil, Dunn, Raab, Brandon and the rest of the crew!

Summary: GOD BLESS VITO!
Review: The things that happen in the show are humerous...but unlike what many people are writing, Bam does NOT pull any of this stuff or come up with any of these pranks. MTV writers do...it's just Bam's acting that makes it funny...think of it as a sitcom, not a reality show.

Summary: Viva La Man!
Review: This is great! I can't tell too much about this thang. The main reason that I like it is 'cause I was being mounted by a "friend" while it was on. Thanx for the memories Steve and Adam!

Summary: Awsome show, but this DVD isnt that great...
Review: Well lets see, they still censore a few words, Mine says Parental Advisory, and it has a few f words, but it still cut some of it, aint that bulls**t!!?, and the nudity is still blurred, It still stars out the cussing at the bottom of the screen, damn, this pissed me off, oh well, It's still alot more uncensored than what MTV will show... Come out with a 100 % Uncensored version please, instead of a 75 % Uncensored version, P.S. Did any one else have this problem???
