Summary: Puppets making prank phone calls. It's hilarious!!
Review: After seeing Crank Yankers on Comedy Central my husband and I were excited that it was finally coming out on DVD. Even though we had seen all of them already it was still just as funny the second time around. There's just something funny seeing puppets acting out prank phone calls. If you have a sense of humor you will be laughing for hours:)

Summary: This is my favorite show ever...
Review: Anyone who has not laughed at this show clearly has no sense of humor whatsoever. My favorite character is (burp) Bobby Fletcher. Special Ed's pretty funny, too.

Summary: Great Concept, But...
Review: Crank Yankers misfires on more calls than it scores laughs on. Some of the calls are just nasty and pointless...like making pornographic comments to old ladies...not funny. I laughed out loud a few times (mostly from the retard!), so if i didn't have to suffer through the pointless calls and the disturbing calls, I would have loved the DVD. (Also, they need to remake the old man; his ears are too disgusting to look at.) I recently viewed a new episode of Crank Yankers on TV and it was so vile that I am now too disgusted by the show to ever watch it again. This show could have been great in the hands of people with more creativity and less maliciousness and less filthiness.

Summary: The Worst TV I've ever seen - A total steaming pile
Review: Crank Yankers.

A show that only that Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel could get away with making.

The show blends live action puppetry acting out fake crank calls. The concept is so bad its amazing it has lasted more than one season. However, being on Comedy Central explains how its been able to last. Since CC isn't exactly the beacon of intelligent comedy.

The whole premise - crank calls is weak and lame. Anyone of voting age with the appropriate level of maturity can't get to the remote fast enough to change the channel. You have attempted humor with a mentally challenged invidual yelling "I Got Mail" at the subject repeatidly on the other end of the line or another case of a man who repeatedly vomits into the phone during his prank call. Then there are your typical sex shop crank calls and they are lame too. The whole show is simply not funny.

I'll go one step further too. Crank Calls are the cheapest attempt at humor in existance. To set someone up who has no clue what your doing then think its funny that they are either too polite and won't hang up or can't tell you to eff off is lame.

Bottom line - funny to 10 year olds thats about it. Avoid this stinker.

Summary: Can't Wait For This One
Review: For those who wonder how a dvd set that has not come out can be given 5 stars, well I have two words for you--Special Ed. That character alone is worth the bucks it will take to have this set of dvd. Plus, the cast of guest voices features some really funny folks. If you love great comedy, then BUY THIS DVD SET!!! Dum-dum-dum-dum Yay!!!!

Summary: Made me cranky.......
Review: Growing up in the generation where a group known as the "Jerky Boys" were very popular and very funny, I was hesitant at first to watch this series. I was unimpressed with the use of the puppets, while more impressed with the comic voices that changed intermittently throughout the program to give depth to this fantasy town. I felt this was a gimmick, a cheap thrill so to speak, nothing like the wonderful filth that the "Jerky Boys" could bring. Crank Yankers was for children, for pre-teens with nothing more than an opportunity to sneak some of their parents beer and laugh at jokes and situations that were not really that funny. If you can't tell already, I was highly disappointed with this program. I watched about seven of these episodes before I had to just turn it off. I chuckled occasionally, but mostly sat with anticipation in my eyes that it would only get better ... but it never did. There was nothing really "laugh out loud" funny with this show. The puppets are poorly done, the voices didn't seem to match (Spoony needed to be more suave, more "Ladies Man" than Mike Tyson), and the material is just bland.

Overall, I was very disappointed. Comedy Central did have an interesting idea with this one, but the execution left much to be desired. I had to turn this off before finishing all the episodes, and for a man that hates to do that, I was happy. This was a poor program. I hate to use the word, but "stupid" comes to mind. It never reached that level of hilarity that it possibly had the potential for. I recommend skipping this and checking out some old "Jerky Boys" stuff, I think you will see the originality finally emerge.

Grade: * out of *****

Summary: Quite Funny, but not enough for what you pay for.
Review: Hey, don't get me wrong here, I like seeing puppets make Prank Calls as much as the next guy, but i just was a little dissapointed with the overall package of the DVD. When i bought this DVD i was hoping to see NOT ONLY hilarious, insane prank phone call puppet action(which i did), but also some more extras then there were. The show itself is funny as it could be but the extras are just SO dissapointing that it knocks two stars off of the rating. So in the long run, get South Park or Chapelle's Show instead of this, but thats my opinion. I hope this review has helped you make a decision. Thank You for reading.

Summary: HILARIOUS
Review: Stephanie gave this dvd one star, and said that the whole premise of crank calls is lame?????
Mam, you could not be more WRONG.
You have no sense of humor, and who the hell says comedy has to be "intelligent" to be funny????

Crank Yankers is a whole lot funnier than the Dave Chappelle show.

Summary: Come one, come all!
Review: Unlike some people, I don't review DVDs until I have actually watched them. This collection includes all 10 first seasons episodes of Crank Yankers, now with the curse words unbleeped. There are still a few bleeps, though; mostly the names of businesses. Like when Terrence calls Spago to make a reservation for Bill Cosby, "Spago" is bleeped. Oddly, though, on the CD version of that call, "Spago" was unbleeped. Watching the early episodes of Crank Yankers, it is interesting to observe some of the ways the show has "evolved" since then. Some of the puppets didn't have quite the same look as they do now. The most notable difference is in Cammie, who was originally a blonde. Also, the show was more experimental during the first season. They tried things like having musical performances and "wise sayings" from Confucius. These bits were later dropped to concentrate entirely on the crank phone calls. The bonus materials on the DVD include a documentary about the making of the show, which is interesting, at least the first time you watch it. There are also two unaired calls, which are not as funny as the calls that actually did air. If you like this show, this DVD set is well produced and worth the money.
