Review: near the beginning of the "complete season dvd" craze, i personally emailed HBO to beg them to release this show on dvd. this hopefully gives you an idea of how much i love this show.

after years of watching this show air originally on HBO, i'm so happy that it's finally been released on dvd. eventhough i practically had every episode of this show videotaped, i had to get this series again. my videos were starting to wear thin, so releasing this show on dvd was definitely a great early x-mas gift.

for fans of the show, this dvd does not disappoint. for fans of crude, but often clean comedy, with unforgetable and lovable characters; This show's for you! being familiar with the entire series, i can not wait for the future complete seasons of this show.

Review: This DVD set is a Godsend! Unable to bear watching the butchered versions of this sitcom that ran briefly in syndication, (FOX TV even added an annoying laugh track), I've been waiting seven years to see this show again in its uncut HBO glory.

What a pleasant surprise to find this underappreciated gem is every bit as good as I remember it being... if not, even better. The saga of Martin Tupper is apparently timeless, and in today's age of cookie-cutter "According to Jim" network sitcoms, "Dream On" proves vastly superior entertainment. Topical, quick-witted, occasionally dramatic and always funny, "Dream On" paved the way for the rest of HBO's cable series, making "Curb", "Sex and the City" and "The Sopranos" possible.

Packed with talent, from producer/director John Landis and the writers (who went on to create "Friends", which still ain't as sharp or inventive as "Dream On"), to the superb cast, awesome guest stars and hilarious movie/tv clip flashback gimmick - this is a great show that seriously needs to be rediscovered by the masses.

Watching these episodes again, one has to wonder why we haven't seen much more of Brian Benben, who proves himself to be one of the best all-around comic leads in recent history. He popped up for a bit in a failed sitcom years ago, and more recently on NBC's short lived drug drama "Kingpin", but this guy's way too good not to be back on TV.
