Summary: Tour of Duty - a rare TV phenomenon..........
Review: ......why? I cannot think of any of any other TV show that ever had sufficient pulling power to drag me and my friends homeward bound when we were at the peak of our university drinking days. But Tour of Duty did just that every Friday night. I know so many people who became immersed in the storylines and characters that ToD presented to an audience who had only just begun to understand the real conflict that Oliver Stone awakened us to in Platoon. There's so much rubbish on the DVD shelves this Xmas - how can something of such class not be available? Please make it available on DVD.......and not just region 1!!!

Review: i truly believe that the company should think about releasing this tv series on dvd, they would make tons of money. When i was 7 i used to watch the tv series with my father, if i remember he still has video tapes back from 1987 with the tv series on it.

Summary: Tour of Duty DVD
Review: You need to absolutely release this series on DVD. I got hooked on it in the early 90's when I was still in HIgh School, and it was so good, that my history teacher showed some episodes of it during class as a teaching aide. I would hate to see this show NOT released on DVD. PLEASE! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is curious about Vietnam, or just likes good action/drama.

Summary: Don't be stupid! Just release it already!
Review: I loved this series and I was too stupid not to tape it while it was on TNT airing in the Chicago area. I just hope the studio will follow the money making trend of releasing shows on DVD. I do not want to resort to trying to out bid some other fool on eBay for copies from the TV on VHS. I want DVD quality and I will pay any amount to have this series in my collection.

Summary: This is a MUST for a DVD
Review: This is one of the best Vietnam series ever. It simply has to be made into DVD - all three complete seasons.

I was lucky enough to watch all the episodes on TNT recently, but this is a huge tragedy to keep Tour of Duty from our DVD players. If you make it, we will buy!!

Summary: Stop waiting and get it on DVD
Review: Tour of Duty showed alot of us why it is such a popular series, when it first debuted and when it was moved from saturdays to prime time again last year. The show touched alot of people and confronted alot of issues that in the past were issues people turned the other cheek too, in a way, it reminds us what we owed the people who served our country over there, how they had nobody but each other to lean on, and how an ungrateful some of our countrymen treated our soldiers upon their return from Vietnam. I have alot of the shows on tape, but like many others who wrote reviews, my copies are getting worn out. This is one series I'd love to own on DVD, I mean Band of Brothers came out of nowhere and look how well it did, and how popular it was, this series has the same kinda staying power, if the people who wrote this would help us push to put it out on DVD you would do all your fans a great service, I hope my voice is heard and that eventually this will be released on DVD.

Sincerely,
Zack Bleecker

Summary: Television doesn't get much better.
Review: Tour of Duty had it all: an inspired choice of theme song ("Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones), a generally superb ensemble cast, exciting action sequences, and reasonably high production values. Above all, it had surprising depth. Tour of Duty chronicled the physical, mental, and social costs of the Vietnam War with great intelligence, heart, and fairness--and as much frankness as you could expect on a prime-time TV show in the late 80's. It seems like Tour of Duty covered all the major issues of the war (and war in general) at one time or another: the intense camaraderie of the soldiers, the temptations of drugs and prostitutes during "off hours," the toll on civilians, the anti-war movement, the role of journalists in a war zone, racism in the ranks, and much, much more.

Just as importantly, Tour of Duty was a very human story that traced the life-changing experiences of a single squad (mostly the same characters throughout the show's run) during their "tour" in Vietnam. The show made you really feel like you knew the guys and experienced their triumphs and tragedies along side them.

If any TV drama deserves to be released on DVD, this is it.

Summary: Best Show on Vietnam Ever
Review: I was born in 1986 and was too young to watch these shows on TV, but my parents taped all of them nearly. When I got older I started watching them and I love the show. I watched them religiously on TNT when they were on last year. Like i said, I have most of them on VHS but my copies are from the late 80's and as a result are worn, and some are barely watchable now. Whoever makes DVD's needs to release all of the 3 seasons of this show, first off you could make a mint, and second I'd get to watch my favorite show again! Please release this...
