Summary: More fun than two walls of... Turkey Jerky.
Review: Kevin Smith has, with his films, satirized movies, celebrity, popular culture, and even religion. Now with the release of ALL the Clerks: The Animated Series on DVD, he has moved on to the often tried but rarely successful brave new world of satirizing one of the last sacred things we have left: Cartoons. From the Flintstones to the Simpsons to Anime and even ripping into Bugs and Daffy, these side splitting 30 minute morsals of fun give animation it's just deserves. Not to say that animation is the only area made fun of in this short lived show; our favorite targets of Smith's enlightened point of view are again brought to the bull's eye, giving us plenty of classic (or cult) movie references, celebrity slaps, and cliche funnies. This DVD is an excellent addition to anyone's Kevin Smith collection. So buy it. Snootch to the Nootch.

Summary: Snoogins
Review: Makes me say snoogins, even though it says uncensored on the cover, the only swearing is by jay and bob when they introduce each episode, instead of in the episodes themselves. still entertaining nonetheless; SNOOOCHIE BOOOCHIES!

Review: Even if it didn't have all the great extras, this DVD would be worth every penny. I still can't believe they even made an animated clerks series, and was very displeased that it was cancelled. There was a lot of potential for this series, as evidenced by the episodes preserved here. Very hilarious, Simpsons-esque stuff.

Summary: A highly reccomended DVD for Kevin Smith Fans
Review: This is an excellent DVD. After missing the original run of the episodes on ABC, I finally got to watch them and on DVD it is better. Kevin Smith's writing is excellent. He didn't try to tell the Clerks movie all over but showed the other mis-adventures of Dante, Randall, Jay and Slient Bob. Speaking of which introduce the episodes which makes for a better watching experience. The commentary is excellent and bonus materials are great as well. Looking very forward to Kevin's future projects, this DVD will help buffer that period.

Summary: A show that had wings, but no wind to help it.
Review: This show is by far one of the best animated ones I've seen. It was original, had cool animation, and writing by none other than Kevin Smith.

Don't expect to watch a sequel to the Clerks movie. There is no swearing, even though they tried to slip a sex joke here and there. But the core of the original film is there. The characters, the quick dialogue and, of course, the laughs.

I just watched the entire DVD and I must say that it makes you mad to think that you could be watching this show every week, but can't because ABC canceled it. I hope Smith thinks about maybe taking this project to HBO or Showtime so he can REALLY do what he wants.

I recomend this to any hard core Kevin Smith Fan.

Summary: Actually *based* on the DVD
Review: I bought this DVD today, and if you thought the aired episodes were funny, just wait! The added bonus of this DVD is that you get to see the episodes in the order they were INTENDED to air (My personal favourite is episode 6, which includes a great parody of my favourite Warner Bros. cartoon, "Duck Amuck"). You also get to see the unaired "Flintstone's List" footage from episode 2, as well as the context the Leonardo Leonardo footage from episode 2 was placed in. The featurettes were an interesting look at how they nailed the look and feel of these shows. My only complaint is that Smith an Co.'s commentary track is just a 2 hour rant on how they feel they were betrayed by ABC. All in all, Smith fans (or fans of the Clerks movie) should run out and buy this disk, others may want to wait until the proposed animated Clerks movie comes out before making their decision.

Summary: Uncensored Hilarity
Review: Kevin Smith has scored another hit with this. The six episodes are great, but the commentaries are as equally entertaining, highlighting the bureacratic mentality of the"network".Smith is one of the few film makers out there who has balls to tell it how it is.The story of this show's doom is similar toTucker:The Man and his Dream!!Anyway, all six shows are great, but none better than episode 2,where Dante and Randal get locked in the freezer, which rivals any episode of The Simpsons at its very best, and worth the purchase price alone.

Summary: Saw the Unaired Eps
Review: Last year at Wizard World 2000, Kevin Smith previewed all the episodes that never made it to primetime. If you thought the stuff that did air was remotely funny, wait until you see the missing episodes! The animation only got better with the later shows and the unedited versions are more true to Smith's original vision.

By the roaring audience laughter around me (including my own), I think this DVD is a must by for Smith fans. I enjoy his work so count me as one ordering this puppy sooner than later!

Summary: It's just not funny...
Review: Also based on the 2 episodes I saw I ABC, the animated version of Kevin Smith's HILARIOUS movie just isn't funny. The jokes are lame (The Honorable Judge Reinhold?!) ...wow, what a knee slapper. The animation is ok. It just seems that Kevin Smith is trying way too hard to recapture the sucess of the original film. Clerks just doesn't work as a cartoon.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Based on the First 2 Episodes
Review: I havn't seen the DVD yet, but do plan to buy it as soon as it is released on Feb 20th.

I've seen the first two episodes of the series (the ones that actually made it to TV of the four) and what I was was just as funny as good ole Kevin is always. It was toned down quite a bit from the Clerks movie, but of course that's cuz it was made for TV. It also seemed to be made for kids, where the movies were made for adults, so the humor is a little different.

I think this DVD will only be worth avid View Askew fans and not worth it for someone wanting to buy a new cartoon for thier collection. I am looking forward to any comments Kevin has included on this DVD. As of now I havn't a clue what will be included.
