Summary: Newsradio is the most Underrated show ever!
Review: I never got to watch Newsradio the first time around when It was on NBC, but when it was in cindication I watched every episode and I never got sick of it. The writing on the show was phenominal, the cast was perfect, and the fact that they strayed from the mold of a typical situation comedy is great (The Titanic and the Outerspace episodes were outstanding). Even though the show radically changed after Phil Hartman died, the writing and the jokes still maintained quality. I could go on about every charater and how perfectly they reflect every type of personality out there, but I think the show speaks for itself. This disk only has the first two seasons, which is shocking. I loved every single season (although the whole marriage thing later on was kinda lame). I hope the rest come out soon.

Summary: One of the best sitcoms ever!!!
Review: Newsradio is perhaps my favorite show of all time. This show was every bit as funny, if not funnier than Seinfeld. However, due to the geniuses at NBC the show failed to gain large ratings. This was a result of the NBC execs moving the shows day and time slots just about every two weeks. This shows strength was in it's characters. It's one of those shows like Friends where the writers build a familiarity with the character over time, and after watching a few episodes you feel like you actually know these people, which makes the situations they are placed in even more hilarious. I hope they plan on releasing the entire series.

Summary: Now I'll have to buy a DVD player
Review: This is easily one of the best sitcoms of the last 10-20 years. Not only is the writing and acting top-notch, but the show loves to experiment. Some episodes delved into pure fantasy: What if the show was set in space, or on the Titanic? Some episodes freely switched back and forth between the "real" plot and the characters' own visions of what's happening. Some episodes were direct social satire. It's as though the creators wanted to try all sorts of other genres, and yet every experiment worked.

But NewsRadio is also excellent for its visual style: for a series set in a standard office environment, the camerawork is anything but standard. The show has one of the most fluid uses of space you're likely to see in a sitcom, with characters easily moving in and out of the various spaces in the office, and with characters occupying multiple layers of screen space simultaneously. And it's probably the only mainstream sitcom I can think of where I'm always watching the frame: actors have lines from offstage, or suddenly appear out of the unlikliest places, so that you really get the sense of an entire work area being occupied all the time.

Add to all of this the breakneck speed with which the jokes come and the plot moves, and you will see why the show was so well thought of. It's too bad it had to play between lame shows like "Just Shoot Me," which took 30 minutes to do what NewsRadio could do before the opening credits. It's about time the show was released on DVD!

Summary: Maura Tierney
Review: This is the show that made me fall in love with Maura Tierney. She is adorable as Lisa Miller. I currently watch her play such a different character on ER and watching her in this role and it shows what a diverse actress she is.

Summary: One of the best shows ever made.
Review: Like another reviewer, I don't even know where to begin when it comes to talking about this show. Simply put, it's one of the best shows in the history of television. I can't really talk about Phil Hartman to this day without getting choked up- I was only able to sit through the episode where the cast dealt with his loss once. I believe that was in season 4 (?), and it deserves to be on DVD. Anyway, buy this, you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Delayed or not, this is huge, like the Double Js
Review: I was a fan of Davy Foley on kids in the hall, and Phil Hartman on SNL. When this show came out I was stoked, and I have been a fan ever since. I have yet to find a show any better. It seemed like all the charactors on the show, had perfect interaction with each other charactor. The perfect cast in my opinion. I can't wait till this comes out on DVD, and my wife is excited because we get to remove it from the TIVO.

Summary: One of the best ever.
Review: I was really glad when I found out NEWSRADIO would come out on DVD. It was high time because this show is simply hilarious with its wonderful cast. Just like SEINFELD and THIRD ROCK FROM THE SUN, this is, hands down, one of the best ever. I can't wait for the other 3 seasons to come out on DVD as well. Thanks a lot.

Summary: Don't worry, it's coming
Review: The release date was delayed so that Paul Simms, the show's creator, could put together a bunch of extras: commentaries, behind-the-scenes, etc. New release date should be later this year.

Summary: My favorite show of all time
Review: Non-sequitor humor, amusing and likeable characters, great writing. I found out that this show tried to push the envelope of what was allowed on television--if you watch the old episodes, you'll occasionally see the words spoken do not match up with people's lips. Apparently, this is thanks to the censors who insisted that lines be changed.

The first two seasons are excellent--with the entire original ensemble cast.
