Summary: The Best
Review: I have been waiting for Season 2 since I bought season 1 last summer.
I wasn't very happy about the music changes at first, but now that i have watched the entire DVD, the music that Paul Stupin chose to replace the original broadcast is awesome. If you are a Dawson's Creek fan, this DVD is a must. It's my favorite season. A Perfect Wedding #219, is in my all time top 5 episodes. I look forward to getting Seasons 3-6 on DVD. So sit back, and relive some good memories with Dawson, Pacey, & the gang, you won't regret it.

Summary: Soundtrack Disappointing
Review: I've been waiting for the series to come out on DVD. So every 6 months I can sit and watch a new season. Ever since I got Dawson's Creek Season 1, I have been wanting season 2.

When I saw an article about the release of Season 2, I was quickly mad at the fact that they changed the soundtrack to this season. Not everything was changed, but lots of it. And I know this it due to money and copyright issues. I remember saying to myself: "If they get rid of 'Kiss the Rain' or 'Save Tonight,' I'm going to get really mad." Well, here you go...

Those of you that are familiar with the episodes of Dawson's Creek. Remember the episode 'Crossroads'? This is the one where Dawson and Joey have their first fight. When they make up they walk up to each other in the rain and Billie Myers' 'Kiss the Rain' is playing. The fact is that you hear a completely new song. A new song!!!! I don't even know the song. 'Kiss the Rain' was the perfect song to play at that moment. Again at the end when Dawson and Pacey come to an understand and decide to take that trip to Maine, you expect to hear 'Save Tonight'. NO! This is all in one episode. Those songs made this episode one of the best. I am really disappointed by the fact that these songs aren't there. This makes me not want to watch the DVDs anymore and stay with the TBS original showing episodes.

Summary: The season that got me hooked.
Review: Out of all 6 seasons, I'm sure most would agree Season 2 remains the strongest, and the season most teenagers could relate to. Tons of issues arise, such as friendships falling apart, divorce, coming out, falling in and out love etc. etc. Each character is given their own storyline this season and each one is just as intriquing as the others. In this season, Dawson adn Joey get together only to break up once Joey falls for the new guy in town Jack. Pacey meets and falls in love with the highstrung, overachieving Andie McPhee, and Jenn starts going back to her wild days in New York, drinking, partying, and having sex. Theres only a few duds in the season, but we get some excellent episodes such as The Election, in which Joey and Andie run for class presidents in which the whole school learns the truth about Andie and Jacks mother, It involves a touching scene between Pacey and the mother in a grocery store, which I'm convinced is the reason so many fell in love with Pacey instead od Dawson. The heartbreaking 2 parter of Jacks coming out, in which Kerr Smith gives an emotional and intense performance as he deals with coming out of the closet to his family and friends. Katie Holmes remains the center of the show in my opinion, always giving a sincere and honest look at a real teenager. James Van Der Beek goes a little over the top at times, but Joshua Jackson as Pacey steals every scene he is in. Always charming and likeable, and the underdog you always root for in the end. Michelle Williams is always very subtle in her performances and can handle drama and comedy and handles both very well. The only problem I have with Season 2 is Monica Keena becoming a major recurring character as Abby. She is one of the worst actresses on television, and I can't understand why she was chosen let alone kept for the entire season. However, we do say goodbye to Abby after this season. Last but not least, I love the character of Andie, Paceys girlfriend, and thought that her storylines were well written and intriquing. However, Meredith Monroe, gets runner up for the worst actress working in television. The girl does not understand the word subtlety, and after awhile, I wanted to skip her scenese because I could not bare to watch her over the top performances. Dawsons Creek went downhill after Season 2 so it's nice to be able to go back and watch the season that made this show one of the best teen dramas on television.

Summary: Good Season Bad DVD
Review: After enjoy the great first season in DVD, it wasn't easy wait for one of the best season of the show, but... it was a disappointment, because beyond the quality of the episodes there was nothing more. Some changes in the music and the ussually commentaries, but no photo gallery or some outtakes or the featurette about something of this season, the things you hope to find when you spend money in a complete season and no buying videos to record the episodes from TV. Even with the subtitles the things are not good, for those who love the english languaje is almost ridiculous buy a zone 1 DVD with the kind of subtitles of zone 4 (spanish and portuguese).
If this is the way sony will be launching the next seasons, better forget the DVD and buy videos to make a good record from tv, even shorts TV shows have a better DVD collection,it's not a problem of money it's about the shame to see one of the best seasons of a great show with the quality of the garbage tv. It deserve something better.

Summary: Great season, too much music replacements....
Review: Overall I consider the second season of the show the best one there is, it involves interesting character development, and really focases on Dawson and Joey, something that was ignored after Willamson left the show.

But you already know why season two is so good in storyline, so why only 3 stars? I know music had to be replaced but there's certain songs that needed to be left alone, even if it meant a few extra dollars than it currently is. I mean come on it's only a few dollars more than season 1, it had to make some of us go hmmm. I would have gladly payed 40 or had a retail of 60 dollars for songs like "Kiss the Rain" an ESSENTIAL Dawson and Joey song in the episode Crossroads, "Candy in the Sun," a fun upbeat song in episode 7, it's just songs like those that really stick out that should have been left alone.

A little more time and effort could have been taken to make different selections I mean as far as I know none of the songs in the first episode of the season were changed.

Basically if the more obvious songs would have been kept in I would have bought it, but since it couldn't be done I'm happier off with the tbs reruns that are more true to the show.

Summary: Excellent Purchase
Review: I just wanted to let everyone know that I received my DVD Box set today of Dawson's Creek and well the quality is better than the first Season, but I really didn't care that the picture wasn't 100% quality I cared more about getting the show on DVD. This DVD is better quality than the first or just as good. The main thing that I wanted to say is that not ALL of the music was replaced and most of the songs are still in the first episode and some of the others. So if these were the things that would make you not want to buy Dawson's Creek that is silly, but if so now you know that some of the music is still there and they only did it to cut cost of the DVD set anyways. The music that is put in was redone by Paul Stupin and he is the one who picked all of the other great music for the show, so therefore, the music will be good anyways. This season is a must own and I hope that everyone that is a fan buys it.

Summary: Dawson's Creek Season 2 - Remixed DVD
Review: This season of Dawson's Creek got me hooked on the show so I was excited it was being released on DVD and I rushed to buy it. Luckily before opening the DVD I came across a list of changes made to the music in these episodes and will be able to return this DVD to get my money back. These changes to the music are a huge disappointment since the music was such an important part of creating the atmosphere and mood of this wonderful show. Be warned this is not one or 2 minor songs being replaced but in most cases up to half and even all the songs in some episodes have been replaced. Oddly some songs that were released on the Dawson's Creek Soundtrack CD have been replaced. This DVD should be great for those who have never seen Dawson's Creek but for those wanting to relive the magic of this show the way they remember it will be better suited with VHS tapes of the original airings. This show holds a special place in the hearts of it's fans and I'm sure most of us would gladly have paid more to see the episodes presented on this DVD the way they were originally aired and perhaps one day we will see a "Special Edition" release of this restoring the episodes to their original glory. The list of the song changes can be found at: (http://www.dawsonscreekmusic.com/music/dvd/dvd2summary.htm

I have to disagree with the people who say Pacey and Joey go together... they don't, Joey belongs with Dawson!!! All the drama that goes down this season is priceless! I can't wait to watch Season Two again!
