Rating: Summary: Horrible horrible show Review: When i saw the simple life was coming on tv, i thoguht it would be a great show that would make everyone laugh at these spoiled brats, but oh no, what this show really is about is the fact Paris and Nicole like being in front of the camera and pull most of their antics for publicity. They do the stuff they do on the Sinmple life to make people think they're cool. They never had an intention of trying, and show that. Has anyone other than me noticed how Nicole follows around Paris like a wet puppy? This is a set up show to make Paris Hilton more popular, and i strongy reccomend you do not purchase this dvd.
Rating: Summary: a simple life Review: I love the simple life! I watch it every week. I've been checking every other week to see if it is coming out on dvd. My favorite was when Nicole had to yell at the cows. They're getting some bad reviews. Give these girls a break!!! YOu all got to understand that it is difficult for celebrities to live normally when there are camera men hiding in bushes and popping out and snapping shots like crazy... so why in the ... would they work in places like farms and burger joints when they can't even have a private life of their own? These girls grew up in a total different life style...they get things when they want it because they can afford it. They don't understand the how jobs work....I mean come on...Paris didnt even know what Wal-Mart was.
Rating: Summary: worth the laughs Review: This may seem like a really stupid show but my whole family got tons and tons of laughs out of it. It's only tv so don't let them being snobs and dumb blondes stop you from buying this entertainment. You really can't go wrong if you just think of it as two dumb girls put out of their place. But if you are against blondes and reality tv shows then don't buy this.
Rating: Summary: Started funny, turned cruel Review: The basic "fish out of water" concept is a good one. Paris Hilton has certainly been in the news A LOT of late, so the show had a good chance to succeed. I thought the first episode was very funny as the girls left their cushy life and were introduced to an Arkansas farm family. Unfortunately, the series took a quick and cruel turn in the second episode. The girls' first job was at a dairy and they were to fill bottles with milk. That they made a mess of it wasn't surprising. That they were so indifferent about the fact that someone would be drinking the "milk" that they had poured water into and that the spilt milk was a loss to the poor farmer who depends on milk sales for his living was quite mean spirited. No life lessons learned here.Maybe the joke is on us. Reality shows aren't always as unscripted as we are led to believe. Perhaps the farmer and others in the community were warned that the girls were going to be as unmanageable as possible because it was "good TV." I'd feel better knowing that, but as it is this just seems to be an exercise in rich girl cruelty.
Rating: Summary: REPULSIVE Review: To start off I'd like to say I have never seen this show and don't intend to. From what I see on these girls from the television it makes me want to puke. As for the parts you see during commercials I'd have to say whoever chooses to view this show is ignorant and needs to have their heads adjusted. These girls are trash and although millionaire's, it seems like they would do anything to make a buck. They degrade themselves and don't seem to mind....talk about a waste of oxygen on this planet. America please wake up....if you care to view a humorous show, watch a movie that will at least have you laugh at a plot worth laughing at...if you care to view trash, then go out to your sidewalk once every week and watch it be picked up....because that is surely where this show belongs.
Rating: Summary: Why, Oh Why? Review: Someone please tell me why America is fascinated with Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie? It's disgusting that these 20-something year old girls party and spend their money. As a hard-working, non-trust-fund kinda guy, I resent it! Why do they get the attention they do? More importantly, why does America give it to them? You'd think that with all the people out of work and the bad economy, and the housing and rent prices that make regular folks have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet ...... you'd think that two trust-fund chicks who get 21 cakes for their 21st birthday would just make people's stomachs churn. Paris flew to four or five cities to celebrate her 21st birthday. These chicks show up to nightclubs in limos and spend $50,000 on a good party. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, AMERICA?! WHY DO YOU WATCH THESE GIRLS SPEND MONEY AND PARTY ??!!! Oh yeah, the show's kinda funny, though. It's completely understandable that a trust fund kid would think Wallmart sold walls.
Rating: Summary: hilarious Review: Hilarious! I can't wait to get the dvd. Yes the girls are immature and lack class but who cares? Their wealthy & ditzy, but come on they're not hurting anyone. This is just too funny. Wealthy heiress Paris Hilton and her best friend Nicole Ritchie (Lionel Ritchie's daughter) leave their lux life behind, as well as their cell phones and money. They head to a farm where they have to deal with living the simple life. What makes this show funny is that these are two wealthy, ditzy girls that can't do anything. Their really hurting themselves in the end but hey its great entertainment and they signed up for it. The show has got to be scripted, after all "reality tv" isn't always reality. Seriously, in the first episode Pairs asks "What is Wal-Mart? Do they like sell wall stuff or something?" Either that's scripted or she's the most dumbest human being to walk the earth and even if it is scripted, it still makes her look dumb but hey its funny. This is dumb-funny humor. It works & I can't wait to get the dvd so I can laugh my head off at their ditziness.
Rating: Summary: Petty Review: Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie do one thing well ... demonstrate the pettiness that pervades America's youths. The FOX series is nothing more than a meandering tale of two females who are completely "anti-lady" as they connive, cheat and steal from the folks who open up their homes, workplaces, and lives to the pair. In a continuous fit of irresponsibility, the series shows the females breaking curfew, showing up late to work, and getting fired from more than one job. In their unladylike personalities, the females regularly insult their hosts, both directly to their faces and behind their backs. In an ultimate crime of nonhumor, Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie actually debate about stealing, then choose to steal regardless of its consequences, and when confronted by the owner of the credit card they criminally used, they laughed behind his back for their deceit. Mr. and Mrs. Hiltons and Ritchies, you've done a miserable job of bringing up two young women. You should be ashamed. Please, birth no more children into this world if you cannot present them with even a modicum of worldliness.
Rating: Summary: fox is known for taking chances on useless crap Review: This show is awful. The pilot is entertaining, but it's all downhill after that. It's obvious these two are aware of the cameras at all times, as they behave as stupidly as possible. Hilton spits out as many ignorant comments as possible and Nicole acts ridiculous like she was on crack the entire time (after the show she was arrested for possession.) Hilton later admits the producers had them dress up in skimpy outfits to make them stand out in this town as much as possible, and that she was playing up her character by making famous comments such as "What is Wal-Mart, do they sell wall stuff?" After purposely losing every job they're assigned, these two treat the town as if they were not there to try to work as normal people, but to mock it as much as possible. They dress like hookers for a community fair they were offered to help out in, and pick a fight with a 15-year-old girl. Of course the Paris Hilton sex-tape scandal miraculously showed up just in time to get America to tune in to the show. There's talk of a season two, but just how much can viewers take? With an extra star for the pilot being funny and the occassional laugh I got from Nicole Ritchie, the rest of the series is just plain predictable. It's exactly as you'd expect two millionaires, or millionaires' daughters, to act when you've given them their own show; selfish and disrespectful. I feel sorry for the family who offered their home to them.
Rating: Summary: From filthy rich...to just plain filthy ! Review: After reading some reviews, I feel people haven't clued in about a couple of big factors! 1). Paris and Nicole were most likely told by the FOX execs to be as outrageous as possible. Was it staged? Who knows, but it's certain that their behavior was egged on by FOX. Would 20 million people have watched it if they were behaving, going to work on time, and doing a good job? No! 2). FOX most likely covered all the damage that was done, including compensating the milk man. Somebody had to pay for the stuff they did, so aside from minor aggrevation, there was probably no harm done. That being said I found this show entertaining and I was quite impressed with Paris and Nicole. Before the show, I thought Paris was probably the biggest spoiled brat ever. Now, my perception of her has changed. Her and Nicole seem like decent people, who are not full of themselves. Not once did Paris or Nicole ridicule their Arkansas friends, make fun of their way of life, or make them feel inferior. They seemed to appreciate the values of these people and see the beauty of a place that frankly I would have a hard time seeing. It's made me look at things differently, believe or not. They made relationships with these people and seem to genuinely care about them. All in all, they seem like really nice girls, who haven't allowed their priviledges to make them nasty people! It just goes to show how wrong our perceptions can be. I don't think Paris and Nicole failed, because I don't think they really tried, other than to make relationships with people. If anything, they were exploited by FOX! Again, who would have watched the show if it wasn't so outrageous? And outrageous it was...it provided lots of laughs and it was pure fun. From the Reunion Show it seems that maybe Paris and Nicole may be a permanent fixture in the lives of some of the people they met, especially the familty. At least I hope so. It would be a shame if they lost contact, and it was so obvious from the tears shed during the last episode that all parties involved grew to care about each other, and what is more beautiful than that? - Paris Hilton: At 22 years old, 5'8'', Measurements: 34" - 25" - 35". Has 3 pomeranians named Dolce, Sebastian and Prince. Also a chichuahua named Tinkerbell. - Nicole Richie: At 22 years old, 5'2''. Was offered and accepted the chance to star in The Simple Life with her pal Paris Hilton after Nicky Hilton turned it down. She was adopted by Lionel Richie.
