Summary: Not too bad, but has some flaws
Review: Mad About You has finally made it's way to DVD, but is it worth the price. In my opinion yes, but with some flaws.

The series is on two discs, with eleven episodes on each disc. A Spanish language track is available as are closed capitioning for English and Spanish. Visually the series looks the same as it did when it aired, minus the annoying logo in the corner. I've heard some complaints that the picture looks grainy, but I have not noticed it. I have noticed that there are some scenes that have been removed from the syndicated series are back in the show, so that is a plus.

The major problem that I have with this set is the fact that the episodes do not have chapter stops. So if you want to skip ahead in the episode, you have to fast forward through the show. Another problem that I have is that there aren't any extra's on the disc. Not a major deal, but it would be nice to at least have a 'behind the scenes' featurette.

If you like Mad About You, you should probably pick this set up. But be forewarned, all you are getting is the shows and nothing more.

Summary: A good investment for M.A.Y. fans
Review: If you like Mad About You, you will really enjoy this selection. There are 22 great episodes on 2 discs (11 each). You will relive the witty banter of Fran, Mark, Selby, cousin Ira, and of course Paul and Jamie. The only thing keeping this from getting all 5 stars is that there aren't any special features of any kind. But, it is still great to be able to watch a great episode any time you like, without any commercials.

Summary: True Romantic Moments
Review: My wife and I love this DVD. She and I watch Mad About You on Lifetime every morning and when this set came out, I couldn't pass up on getting it for her for Valentines. Her eyes said it all. We have watched the DVD's once through, cuddled on the loveseat.

One minor grip, episode 23 and 24 are backwards in the storyline, making for some confusion.

Summary: Great Show, So-so Presentation
Review: I'll start off by saying that I love this show. It's hilarious! My only real gripe is that this is a 2-disc set when it should have really been a 3-disc set. The reason I say this is that in order to fit 22 episodes onto two discs they had to compromise on the video quality. Most of the time it is just fine but on some episodes there is excessive artifacting in the video. If they had put it on three discs, they could have upped the encoding bitrate and had crystal clear images. Instead, we get a lower quality image and in my opinion a lower quality product.

Also, the presentation (menus and such) is very generic and lackluster. But really, who cares, you buy these for the episodes not the menus. Still, it would have been nice to see a more attractive presentation.

This last comment may have nothing to do with the DVD itself, but it seems to me that the audio is quieter than the average DVD. I find that I have to turn the volume up much higher than normal with this set. But, it could just be my imagination.

Final verdict: Buy it if you like the show, but don't expect anything fancy.

Summary: Shows how special Mad About You was!
Review: In my opinion, this first season of Mad About You is the best. This box set is not only extremely affordable but also highly entertaining. I have watched every episode of the series, and I think that these first episodes greatly show the wonderful chemistry between the two actors. Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt portray the married Buchmans so well that you almost forget you're watching a show. They are so funny as they sort out the up and downs as well as all the fine details of being newlyweds. This is an excellent dvd buy because it shows the best of the award winning series.

Summary: I loved this show!
Review: I was delighted to see this show released on DVD. Hopefully more seasons will be released soon. These episodes are almost all terrific (ok, the Jerry Lewis one, maybe not so much!) and showcase the best part of the series, the interplay between Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser as the newly married Buckmans. I really enjoyed this set and think that the price is an excellent value. Only one complaint, there are no extras whatsoever and I was a little disappointed by that.

Summary: Sitcom at its best!!! Thank You Columbia TriStar!!!
Review: FINALLY!!! My all time favourite on DVD! Why did we have to wait so long in the first place? Season One is the most hilarious, however I hope we will get all seaons on DVD, especially the last one, which has not been broadcastet on TV here in Germany!
Sad though that they didn't put any extras on the DVD. Anyway, this package is a MUST HAVE for every real fan, especially when your videos get worn out from watching the episodes over and over and over again.

Review: I loved this show when it was on the air, buying this DVD set was not a mistake at all.

Summary: The First Season but Hopefully Not the Last
Review: I thought that this was a wonderful DVD!! I have been in love with this show for three years now because i was so little when it was actually on. Since i was so young i never watched it so now i just have to tape reruns and it is so hard with a tape to watch an episode without spending hours @ a time rewinding trying to find that episode! This is wonderful now i can just choose the episode that i want and watch it! Although this wasnt the best season if you love the show then you should love even maybe some of its worst episodes that is part of watching a show you cant expect to like them all. Yes there are better seasons but why would you start off making the DVD for the last season that just wouldnt make sense! I am glad that you started with the last season and i really hope that you will make more because this is one of the best shows ever made!!
