Rating: Summary: Five star Three! Review: Here in the UK we get The King Of Queens on one of the subscription channels, therefore it's potential audience is a fraction of what it could be. And for that reason it was by complete accident that I happend to stumble across it about 2 years ago, becoming hooked on it within weeks.Enough people have given reviews of the show itself, so I wanna concerntrate on the discs and packaging. The packaging is wonderful. The 3 discs being housed in a glossy, solid fold-out digi-pack, which is then housed in a fairly sturdy and also glossy slip case. Open the pack out and you're treated to a stylish computer generated image of the Heffernan's neighbourhood. The inside of the pack is similarly designed and includes a poutch containing a small but sweet 4 page episode symopsis. Each of the discs has a silk screen image of one of the 3 main characters of the show. The extras on disc 3 include an insightful commentary by series creator Michael Weithorn and THE man, Kevin James. This is especially interesting as it lifts the lid on some little known facts regarding the filming of the pilot and the casting of Jerry Stiller. We also have a half hour feature with interviews and behind the scenes shots of the show being made. Strangly the extras also include 2 bonus episodes from the next season... Regarding the quality of the audio and visuals, I have to say that I can only compare this region 1 release with the quality of the UK PAL transmissions, and I have to say that the DVDs beat the transmissions hands down. The audio is louder and clearer and the visuals are much more colourful and sharper. The ONLY thing I don't like about The King Of Queens season 1 is the absolutely dreadful title sequence. Thank God they dumped it and replaced it with something of much better quality! I really hope that this collection sells well and paves the way for the other seasons to be released on DVD. 5 stars for 3 wonderful characters and an excellent TV comedy making it's debut on DVD!
Rating: Summary: The Best Show on TV Review: I absolutely love all of the episodes from The Complete First Season. This show is imperative to good health. I desperately want all the other seasons. When will they be released? The King of Queens is superb comedy. They are the best of the best.
Rating: Summary: Funniest Show on Television Today Review: I am a huge Honeymooners fanatic so it is to be expected that I would like this show a lot. It cracks me up each and every time. Doug (Kevin James) is absolutely hilarious. He is so cute and funny that I can definately see how a woman would flip for him. He has a great way of delivering jokes and he has a very expressive face for comedy. Leah Remini plays his wife Carrie and she is also hysterical. She is very beautiful and yet, strangely, has a great face for comedy as well. They make a great pair these two. The people that play the friends on the show are all very good especially Deacon. I find him very funny because he's always so serious when he delivers his funny lines. But the icing on the cake for me is Carrie's father, Arthur, played brilliantly by Jerry Stiller. I laugh so hard with Doug all the time but Jerry is the one that gives me a stomach ache. Jerry is the funniest man on television. I really love him for delighting us and making us happier with his humor and style. God bless him. Another hilarious character (although I barely see him on the show) is that next-door neighbor of theirs that built the swimming pool so high up that Doug and Carrie have to see him sunbathing all the time. That is the funniest episode! I started watching Malcolm in the Middle just to see that actor in action. He's also one of the funniest guys on television! I'm not sure what episodes are on this DVD set but I've been a fan of this show since it came out and it always made me laugh. I highly recommend checking out the entire series. If I had to pick a favorite episode off the top of my head it would have to be the one where Doug and Carrie feel guilty for not giving more money to charity and end up donating $500 towards a library. Doug and Carrie are perfect as the archetypes of the angelic man and devilish woman. What a treat! This show is awesome.
Rating: Summary: The King of Queens Rocks!!!! Review: I can't get enough of 'The King of Queens'. I watch it every night and 5:30p and 10:00p, and of course, every Wednesday. This is the funniest show on TV. Doug and Carrie constantly crack me up. It's so realistic how they bicker at one another. Especially when Carrie mocks Doug and then he says "shut-up!!" I love it. I bought the first season on DVD and will buy the rest when they come out. Rock on King of Queens!
Rating: Summary: Wow, The King of Queens Beat Newhart To DVD?! Review: I didn't start watching King of Queens right away. I knew it was from the producers of two my of all-time favorite sitcoms, Mr. Belvedere, and Ned & Stacey, and yet I didn't get around to watching it until the end of the first season. Even then, I only watched it because a TV buddy of mine kept urging me to check it out because he thought I might get into the show like I did with Ned & Stacey. It took a few episodes, but King of Queens eventually grew on me, becoming my must-see Monday night comedy. In fact, it's the only comedy that watch on CBS. Everybody Loves Raymond, except me. For me, the King of Queens really was the King of CBS Monday night comedy. CBS, stupidly, moves the show to Wednesdays this season. But, I digress. The "king" is Doug Heffernan, a hefty IPS courier driver played with great comedic cluelessness by comedian Kevin James. James is hilarious with his dopey facial expressions and reactions. Doug lives in Queens with his wife Carrie, a legal secretary played with gusto by Leah Remini - who FINALLY found a sitcom that truly suits her spitfire talent. Doug's happy home is usurped by the presence of his father-in-law Arthur Spooner, played by Jerry Stiller, who basically does what he did in Seinfeld, but somehow makes it still seem fresh in this show. I crack a smile at how he always greets Doug with "Douglas." Doug & Carrie's marital dynamic is reminiscent of Ralph and Alice Kramden from The Honeymooners. Physicalities aside, the similarities are undeniable. Doug and Ralph are both hefty hard-working, blue collar guys who both drive for a living, with schemes that always incite their wives. Alice and Carrie both have spitfire personalities, and are not afraid to speak their minds, and yet totally devoted to their husbands. Doug's friends, Deacon Palmer (Victor Williams), Spence Olchin (Patton Oswalt), and cousin Danny Heffernan (Gary Valentine - Kevin James' real-life sibling) alternate as Ed Norton facsimilies. The episodes themselves have a quirky charm that fans of Newhart and Ned & Stacey will appreciate. Given Ned & Stacey's premature demise, I didn't want to get attached to another Michael J. Weithorn show, because I didn't think it would last. That was five years ago, and the show is still on the air. With this DVD, I can now see all of those original episodes that I missed out on complete and uncut. And so can you. Long live the King of Queens!
Rating: Summary: A humorous, highly enjoyable show Review: I don't watch much television. In fact, I don't even own a tv. Having always been an anime junkie, I am satisfied with that wonderful invention, the DVD. So why, you might ask, am I writing a review about a couple living in New York City with the wife's retired father? Well, there are number of reasons: 1. Leah Remini is the hottest woman alive. 2. The show is very funny. Honestly, this show is hilarious. Kevin James is a very good writer when it comes to comedy, though his storylines and plots leave room for improvement. Aside from their need for a little more juice, James manages to fill the show with gags aimed at every member of the show's potential audience. Like EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, the show takes everyday situation married couples and their families get into and make them humorous. James' character is more or less the classic blue collar male that enjoys football with a cold one. Remini's character is a modern young working woman trying to juggle a career while still maintaining a happy household (not to mention the burden of being SO FREAKIN HOT! but enough already). Jerry Stiller plays her obsessive retired father with too much time on his hands and a trollish attitude that actually comes off as funny and likeable. In short, KING OF QUEENS features sold characters and good basic comedy appeal. This is a great show to watch while getting your rocks off after a long day's work.
Rating: Summary: one of my favorite shows Review: I got the first season for christmas and the second season the fourth day it came out and both seasons are great. However there are not many features on the 2 sets they are still great to watch over and over again and I hope to get the rest of the seaons sets. Leah Remini is so hot and Nicole Sullivan is hot too. I started watching the King Of Queens during the 4th season and it gets funnier and funnier. When I found out that the 1st season was coming out on DVD i knew i had to put it on my Christams list which I did. I am glad I did. This was worth it.

Rating: Summary: BEST COMEDY ON TV! Review: I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! It is so funny. There are a lot of other shows on t.v that get more props than this show but really shouldn't. If you really want to crack up laughing King of Queens is the show to watch. I was so sick of watching other shows that were SUPPOSED to be funny, and I wouldn't even crack a smile at the plots. But King of Queens leaves me laughing every time. I didn't get into King of Queens until like last year and boy had I been missing out. King of Queens is MUST SEE TV. If you want a good laugh check it out for sure! It's Hilarious and very well written. It is so much more realistic than some shows. Its so much fun to watch. I will definitely be picking up this DVD!!!
