Rating: Summary: Unsurpassed Excellence!! Review: The first season dvd captures the brilliance of this remarkable show, with the benefit of creative guiding spirit Joel Surnow's comments about the characters, episodes and recurring themes. This show has been often copied (well, it originally drew somewhat from 'The Prisoner'), e.g., 24, Nowhere Man (both Surnow creations), Alias, etc. The best of the best.
Rating: Summary: We need the second season! Review: Please release the next season(s). The Alias people have already followed with the second season DVD set. Hurry we've waited years!
Rating: Summary: Finally! Review: As a devoted fan with every LFN ep (of every season) painstakingly taped on VHS, I was delighted to receive the 1st season DVD set as a gift from a very thoughtful friend. If you are an LFN fan, or the friend of a fan, you can't miss with this purchase. Regular "Alias" watchers, however, are not worthy.
Rating: Summary: TWO THUMBS...WAAAYYY UP! Review: Beautifully boxed/presented DVD set of the first season of this ground-breaking series. La Femme Nikita did is first - and it did it better - and on a fraction of the budget than the highly over-rated and highly over-hyped copycat series that are currently airing on the big networks (i.e. "Alias"). Quebec-based actor Roy Dupuis who played the enigmatic character of "Michael" - Nikita's mentor and subsequent love - was a stand-out in the series and for me remained the reason why I came back to the USA Network every Sunday night at 10:00 PM EST... Bravo! Looking forward to the remainder of the series on DVD - most especially S2 and S3! ...
Rating: Summary: Nikita! Review: I've waited for a long time for this. Those new to Nikita will find the characters gripping. The tension between the characters, and the environment keeps you gripped the whole time. An entire series fraught with surprise endings, and plot twists, but you never get tired of it and only hunger for more. Season One sets the ground work, and quickly scuplts the characters that you love to love (or love to hate depending). I'm anxiously waiting for subsequent seasons. One interesting thing about the series that I noticed after it was all over (both times...) is the titles. Each season titles their episodes with the same number of words as the season itself. IE we know that "Mercy" is season one because it has One word. This holds true all the way up to Season Five's final episode, "A Time For Every Purpose" (five words...:)
Rating: Summary: Simply FANTASTIC Review: I distinctly remember channel flipping during the run of LFN on USA. Time-and-time-again, I would pass it up. Don't know why, exactly; maybe it was because my first impression of Roy Dupuis was negative. One day, when there was just NOTHING to watch, LFN seemed better than nothing. BINGO!!! This show is REALLY interesting!!! Holy Volvo, the writing and story are AWSOME! Man, this blonde if soooo sexy, soooo attractive, soooo genuine and descent; and the way she says "youwwah". It just hooked me in such a big way. I was pulled in kicking and screaming and was happy for it. What's so great about this series is that it is so non-American in flavor and look. It's just different and that is not bad. Cannot wait for season 2. MAGNIFICENT!!
Rating: Summary: Silver cloud in a dark night Review: Nikita is the shining white cloud in the dark night of reality of the world most cannot even imagine. Roy Dupuis (Michael), Walter, Madeline, and the rest are the silver lining. This show was years before its time and takes Luc Besson's idea to a higher level. If someone had been far-looking enough to see its potential there would never have been an Alias, a great show in its own right. The acting is both raw and finessing, the actors can surprise the watcher and it appears sometimes each other with the scene development. More money and studio support would have extended LFMs life, but the characters were already far beyond what passes for award winning performances. If you want to see character development and an introspection into what is now obviously real world 'reality' then buy this and the following DVDs. Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis are two actors to watch for in the future - and you should really check Roy's past work - some of it 'campy' (not his fault about the writers) but you can see the talent. As for the warddrobe's, I should be so lucky. I'd be in hock for years, and happily so, to know where to get Michael's clothes. Buy it, watch it - you will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: La Femme Nikita Review: This was one of the best television series! You definately cannot watch just one! I was so glad to see they put season one on dvd. I hope they release the rest of the seasons too!! This dvd has great special features and enough episodes to keep you wanting more!
Rating: Summary: Show was great, but DVD specials were lacking Review: I loved this show when it was on and was excited to get the box set, but was disappointed with the redundant commentary on the episodes by the creators. It would have been nice to have the cast and crew back to talk about the filming, the show, etc. as part of the commentary. I don't regret buying this set, but probably won't buy the rest of the series unless the special features are improved.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BUY EVER!!! Review: Finally LFN is avaiable on DVD. I can't wait to buy other seasons. It is the best TV show ever made. Don't miss it.
