As has already been said by several reviewers, Season Three was a great season. The last episode of the season was a real cliff-hanger. I couldn't believe which character was killed! Here's an episode guide, with a tiny description:

The Furies: Xena is punished for not avenging her father's death.
Been There, Done That: Joxer is killed.
The Dirty Half Dozen: Ares and his army possess armor and weapons that mortal weapons can't harm.
The Deliverer: Gabrielle is tricked into taking the life of an innocent.
Gabrielle's Hope: Gabrielle gives birth to a baby girl.

The Debt (2): Xena is imprisoned by the Green Dragon.

Summary: Season Three can't be missed!
Review: Ahh, season three, the season that brought us the unforgettable bathing scene in perhaps the funniest episode of the show "A Day In The Life". How can we forget Xena exclaiming to Gabrielle "Are you sitting on the soap?" and her response "I was wondering what that was". It was an episode that satisfied many different types of viewers, and provided a welcome comic relief before the intense Debt I & II where we meet Lao Ma, the incredible woman that showed Xena new ways of looking at the world and oneself. We also encounter Gabrielle's betrayal of Xena, and for the first time see major conflict between the two. This is the season in which Lucy and Renee really got into their characters and added a depth to them that we thought wasn't possible. The creators of this DVD set have heard the fan requests for more commentary, and are expected to include on the DVD commentary and interviews from many of the Xena cast and crew, including Lucy Lawless, Renee O'Connor, Rob Tapert, Ted Raimi, Hudson Leick, Alex Tydings, RJ Stewart, Steve Sears, Eric Gruendemann, Liz Friedman, Bernie Joyce, Armus and Foster, Gillian Horvath, Donald Duncan, Rob Gillies, Oley Sassone, John Laing, and Andrew Merrifield (as reported on creationent.com). This DVD set should be jammed with extras to keep fans satisified until season four comes around.

Summary: xena, third season dvd
Review: Enjoyed the dvds, the problem was that I could not get the the last episode on each disk to come up... It just went back to the second to last episode... So do be careful of this problem if you buy a set... Everything else was great... Just wished it was Closed Caption so my friend could have COMPLETELY enjoyed the experience... Loved the show, always will.

Summary: It is worth it!
Review: Every Xena fan must own this series. Whether you missed a few episodes and are trying to catch up or you have not seen it at all and are curious, this dvd is for you. During season 3 we see more of the characters we love. This time friendships are challenged by tragic situations. The characters progress and transform. It is so emotional and action packed, it will keep you on the edge of your seat and playing one episode after the other. Plus, this series includes interviews for most episodes that explain the producers' ideas. Furthermore, there is input from the cast. All three seasons are absolutely worth it. This Xena dvd will take you to the furthest adventures, one episode at a time!

Review: Best Bonus' of any dvd out there - commentary on each disk - Entertainment Value was Excellent - The best part of the movie was the commentary and interviews on every episode - great idea -
Fabulous price - would pay $100 or more - Season One didn't have commentary but I understand it was recorded by the actors, producers and directors - I hope they can offer the Season One commentary on a future set - I can't wait for season 4 to come out

Summary: Better than all the rest
Review: This is, by far, the best of the DVDs sets yet released. It has more bonus features than I've seen on a TV season on DVD! It's great that they were able to wrangle in the likes of Lucy Lawless, Renee O'Connor, Robert Tapert, Hudson Leick, Ted Raimi, etc.

If you're a fan of the show or you're interested in Xena, this is the ultimate XWP DVD collection to date.

Summary: Amazed By Season Three DVD!
Review: Passion, jealousy, love, hatred, strengths, weaknesses, persistence, devotion, understanding, joy, sadness, longing, innocence, and betrayal... these are some words that describe the characters and the events that took place in this not-to-be-missed season 3 of Xena. In this season of "Xena: Warrior Princess" the audience journeys with the heroic adventures of Xena and her trusted friend, Gabrielle, as they battle the forces of evil and triumphed with their strength, understanding, and love for each other. The betrayal of the two heroines presented conflict in their relationship, but they were able to work through their differences and join force to battle and defeat gods and demigods to protect the innocent and fight for peace in ancient Greece. This season also revealed the mystery of Gabrielle's unborn child, which brought an answer to the viewers' question and concern. Simply put, these classic and adventurous 22 episodes of the third season certainly satisfied all Xena fans worldwide!

Starting out this season with "The Furies", the viewers examine Xena's paternity and issue concerns and questions. We also see Xena's comedic side as she is driven crazy by the Furies and acts most unbecoming of her. She has great comedic timing, which we can appreciate in further episodes such as "Warrior...Priestess...Tramp" in which Lucy plays three different look-alike characters. Included in this season was also "The Bitter Suite", which is a musical journey that explores the pain and healing after the death of Xena's son and her betrayal by Gabrielle. I truly enjoyed this episode because of its uniqueness and that it showcases Lucy amazing singing voice.

I also enjoyed "The Debt" and "The Debt II" because of its complex, yet collective fighting sequence. As for the dramatic season finale episodes "Sacrifice" and "Sacrifice II", I was overwhelmed with excitement and thrill. The end brings to a tragic end with the death of Gabrielle, but the viewer has to wonder whether this was the end of her character or not. Once again, we are kept on the edge of our seats wanting even more!

The season three DVD of Xena has been claimed as the most exclusive yet and loaded with bonus features. It includes interviews with the Actresses/Actors, Producers, Editors, Writers, and Set Designers: Donald Duncan, Robert Gillies, Lucy Lawless, Hudson Leick, Renee O'Connor, Ted Raimi; Oley Sassone, Steven L. Sears, R.J. Stewart, and Alexandra Tydings. I love this feature simply because it was very informative and even funny, at times. It is very interesting to see the actors talk about their roles and the storylines.
Also, the various producers and directors comments give excellent and insightful background on what were the intentions behind an episode, the complexities and challenges involved in getting it done, and their perception on whether or not the attempted vision was successful or not.

This excellent DVD box set even includes never before seen footage of deleted, alternate, and recently discovered scenes! These features are also the most enjoyable and most watched for any fans of a show. They present several perspectives of how the story could have developed and they intrigue the viewers. Similarly, the blooper reels are hilarious and so worth watching. They show the "human side" of these "supernatural" actors/actresses and I love it so much. Another feature that is worth mentioning is the photo gallery, which shows a beautiful retrospective of the characters of Xena.
Overall, season three was probably the most controversial year of the show, especially for fans of sidekick Gabrielle. Gradually through seven loosely-related episodes: "The Deliverer", "Gabrielle's Hope", "Maternal Instincts", and a pair of two-parters, "The Debt" and "Sacrifice", the writers of the show put this character through just about every form of extreme pain imaginable. It was physical, emotional, mental, and moral anguish. The character was fully developed and came full circle, just like the season itself - birth to death. However, as fans, we know there will always be tomorrow and the future looks bright for our most beloved characters.

Summary: A look Xena's third season on DVD
Review: WOW! What can I say! I have never seen a collection filled with so many extras, PLUS great quality. Compared to the VHS version, this DVD set is the definate winner. The studio did a great job with the overall picure and sound, as well as promoting it with online chats. (with Lucy Lawless I might add!!)

The set itself contains 9 discs that contain 24 episodes and 9 extras (such as interviews, and other bonus material.) The final disc is a CD-ROM. This means that you can access all the bios on your PC! Eight of the episodes (one on each disc) even have commentaries with the stars! (Lucy Lawless, Renee O'Connor, Hudson Leik, RJ Stewart, Rob Tapert, and others!) This is a great set and a must for any die-hard fan. I hope enjoy this set as much as I have.
