Summary: HBO stinks!
Review: Will I buy Season 6, part 1 on DVD? Of course I will. And HBO knows that all die-hard "Sex and the City" fans will rush out and buy it the day it's released, which is why they can get away with splitting Season 6 into two DVD sets. Can you say "greedy corporate misers?!"

(This was a great season, though, so at least your money won't go to waste. I'm just giving this a low rating to spite those greedy weasels over at HBO!)

Summary: This Man Like Sex and the City
Review: Sex and the City rules from a male perspective. I started watching Sex and the City with my mother when it first aired and have not be disappointed by the show. This review is based on the whole six series of SATC. All the main characters are honest, funny, and shares a similar desire. Carrie's character is a sex columnist for a newspaper. Carrie uses her own personal experiences as well as her girlfriends experiences to compose a column about men, women, sex, and relationships. Samantha is extremely sexually active women who works in Public Relations. Miranda is smart, self assured lawyer who is cynical which leaving her to fake her emotions about relationships. Charlotte is prim and proper Park Avenue women who goals are to get married and have a family.

The reason why I like SATC is because it give a comedic version on sex and relationships. No matter what happens to your own social life, you can watch SATC and share the same humorous episode of what Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte did, and learn to laugh a upon at your own situations. These six series will be treasured and revisited by me.

Summary: This is ridiculous!
Review: I just want to state that I am one of the biggest sex and the city fans you'll meet, but I cannot believe that HBO is splitting season 6 up just so that they can charge us twice as much! I haven't even gotten myself to buy season 5 yet, and I'll probably hold off on buying this one as well. Yes, this is one of the best shows that has ever been on television, but considering the dvds have absolutely no special features and HBO is going to be showing every episode again in the upcoming months, I think I'll probably just be taping the episodes and saving myself $65.

Summary: Golden Treasure
Review: I can always say that Sex and the City was the talk at work and this is how I begun to get into it. You can always look at your group of friends and say that you see a resemble of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte. The unforgettable four. It's one of those series that you can never get bored of and it plays part in your daily life.

Buy it and treasure it.

Summary: the pure facts
Review: The sixth season definately redeems itself from season 5's rush through b/c half the cast was pregnant. First of all, 10 episodes of SATC for [$$$]is a great price!! How many of us pay [$$$] for a DVD that is an hour and 45 min long? Why is everyone complaining about the ~[$$$] (if you buy it the first week)? Secondly, splitting up the 20 episodes of S6 I think is reasonable. They can only put a certain number of episodes on a disc at a time, or the quality will be crappy (why season 1-5 looks so bad since they put 6 episodes on a disc). Splitting the 10 episodes on 3 discs will be better, and will leave more room for Features, which I feel the first 5 seasons are lacking. Also, they couldn't put out all 20 episodes at once because when this release date came out, they hadn't finished airing all the episodes. Everyone fails to realise that is why they are split up. Poor (not literally) Michael Patrick King has to sit there and record commentary for the episodes! I hope they put the hour long retrospective on season 6 part 2.
As far as everyone complaining about the price...all DVD's retail for a ridiculous price. If you buy the DVDs the first week they come out they are WAY cheaper, so if you look at it, you are paying [$$$] for 20 episodes, which is the same as [$$$] for 12 episodes, like season one originally costed. Season 5 for [$$$] (if you bought it the first week it came out) was abnormally expensive however for only 8 episodes.
Well, that's enough preaching from me... GO BUY ALL SIX SEASONS!! DVD's last forever! Some of you would pay [$$$] for a hairdo that lasts 3 days. Get over it. HBO is rich, getting richer, you are poor, getting poorer. If you don't like it, get into business.

Summary: Out with a Bang and a Hole in your Wallet
Review: This year two great shows of mine are ending after very successful runs. Without putting any emphasis on favorites they are Friends and Sex and the City. I LOVE these shows. And it makes me truly sad that it is ending. What really makes me sad though is that HBO is releasing the DVD's at such skyrocket prices. Actually it makes me more than sad, it makes me angry. Season 5 of Sex and the City was released for $32 dollars on Amazon. This is much cheaper than the suggested retail price HBO wants to charge. But $32 is still a lot of money considering the fact that Season 5 was a short season do to the fact that two of its main characters were pregnant. It was 10 shows short of the usual 18-episode season. HBO released it in two discs when it could have easily made it one disc and charged full price. This was probably done to make the season seem bigger than it was.
Then HBO is releasing Season 6 (the last season) into two parts by dividing the 18 episodes. They are releasing season 6 (Part I) at $32 on Amazon, plus another $32 when HBO releases Part II. Why are they doing this? It's ridiculous and completely greedy. They know people are going to buy it and it makes me sick that they would take advantage of loyal fans. I'm going to buy it anyways because I love the show and I want to complete my DVD collection of the series, but I will forever be pissed off. That's going to be almost $100 dollars when I buy all three discs putting my grand total of all seasons at about $225 dollars!!! I must work extra hard in order to finally complete my collection, but what HBO is doing is truly sad and money-hungry. They have put a damper on one of the greatest shows ever, at least to me who will forever be a loyal fan, just not a loyal fan of HBO.

Summary: Sex and the City will be sorely missed
Review: I borrowed season 3 from a friend. I was hooked after the first episode on that DVD. Needless to say, no, I do not have HBO. I then preceeded to watch season 4, then 5, then 2, then 1. From what I understand the first part of season 6 was great! However, when Carrie meets Alexandr Petrovsky the end of season 6 gets tired and boring like the character himself. I would pay for to own the first part of season 6. However, the only reason why I would contemplate buying the second part is for the last 2 episodes (An American Girl in Paris Part une and deux).
And most importantly, season 6 is RUSHED! big time! Seasons 1-5 take their sweet time making fun of sex, carefully dishing out extremely funny jokes and the relationships, feelings and maturity of the characters delicately unravel. Season 6 feels like it was forced. For example, one episode Charlotte is applying to adopt, the next episode she instantly find a baby from China. One episode it seem Samantha is diagnosed with cancer and then poof! the next episode she is cured. TOO FAST. They could have easily made this last season into a seventh.

What a shame! This is the end of a very exciting show. I suppose many peoples Sunday night will be without their four favorite counselors.

If you're a newcomer - definitely buy all the seasons at once and watch then in order.

Summary: So Worth it
Review: Even though the price is a bit high it is so worth the money. When you think about it, SATC will not run in syndication and this will be the only way to watch it again. I just finished watching the final episode and it is by far the best television in ages. You must have the complete series to appreciate it all. There is nothing better than a little bit of Sex......

Summary: Pro-Choice, Sisters!!!
Review: HBO provides freedom of choice! But I can't decide which option to choose: 1) Buy Part One? 2) Wait and buy Part Two? 3) Buy both, and hate myself in the morning? 4) Actually subscribe to HBO? 5) Even get cable? (Sex and the City discs are awesome on my stationless TV, like a rich oasis). 6) Get a Kylie Minogue DVD. 7) Get two Kylie Minogue DVD's for the price of a Sex and the City half season... and watch someone the four sassy Yanks would love... and maybe love to be....

Golly, HBO has provided myriad options this season! Hmmm. These Sex and the City women have entertained with some groundbreaking, unprecedented, and even educational fun. I have truly enjoyed previous seasons... fading off a bit with season five.... Let me think.... This single guy has moved on ladies!!! (And the money is *not* on the counter!:-) Hel-LO Kylie!!!

Summary: Two stars for the season, one star for the price.
Review: First of all, if you haven't seen Sex and the City, go buy the FIRST sesaon. It's excellent. And, on Amazon, you can get it under $28. That's the ENTIRE fist season. But now, HBO wants to retail just half of the sixth season for $50? This season is not that good when compared to the earlier seasons--the plots are tired, the actresses seem to have had enough of these roles. So to ask $100 for the full sixth season is rediculous. I'm confused here--for the best season, HBO sells it for $28, but for the worst (or maybe the fifth season was the worst?) they want $100 retail.

My rec: this wouldn't even be worth $50 for the entire sixth season, and it's certainly not worth $50 for just half of it.
