Summary: It's a Groovy Time Warp Trip
Review: Man, this is weird. If you want to be dropped into a time machine and transported back to 1967, this is the video for you.Nancy wears loud, loud, loud Carnabitian colors, in outrageous combinations, such as fuschia and tangerine. Her skirts are short and her boots are past the kneecap. The entire thing is done with pretaped music and lip-syncing, not a live band in sight. Her guest stars are the Rat Pack, Dean, Sammy, and Daddy, as Nancy likes to call Ol' Blue Eyes. The Dean number parodies his swingin' image, the Sammy segment parodies "Blow Up," and the Daddy segment is actually rather touching, as you see the true affection between a grown daughter and her aging father. Particularly delightful are the duets between Nancy and songwriter, Lee Hazlewood. Though one doubts there was ever a real relationship between the older, much taller Hazlewood and the gamine Nancy, they make a cute musical couple nonetheless. This is a good DVD when you're tired of your "Austin Powers" movies and are in the mood for '60s nostalgia. Even the commercials are fun, as you see Nancy swingin' with the mad, mad, mad cola, along with 16 magazine heartthrobs Dino, Desi, and Billy. That's entertainment, if you can overlook the fact that Nancy really can't sing too well, though her songs are well crafted by Hazlewood and Co.

Summary: This Special Is Made For Watchin'
Review: Nancy Sinatra was the George W. Bush of the Sixties music scene--she owed everything to Daddy. She's wasn't particularly good-looking and had only an average voice; but she took Sixties mod fashions into such extremes that she must have seemed campy even in 1967. In fact, drag queens must have salivated at her over-the-top blonde wigs, mini-dresses, vinyl boots, thick, gaudy make-up, and ridiculous, in-your-face feminism. This is a video of Nancy walkin' all over men with her boots, yet she skulks back to highly chauvinistic Rat Pack cronies such as Dean Martin, Sammy Davis and the Chairman Of The Board. Network television had to touch all demographics in the Sixties, and this special touches all bases, from youthful psychedelia to old-fart Vegas crooners. In one big time capsule, it captures America heading in two different cultural directions. Credit Jack Haley, Jr. for a classy, visually appealing production. Watching this entertaining special makes you realize, again, just how far today's cynicism and ugliness have taken music television into the toilet. For a bona-fide five-star show in the same vein, check out Raquel! starring Raquel Welch, Tom Jones, Bob Hope and Tom Jones, produced for ABC in 1970.

Summary: Nancy's boots were definitely made for walking!
Review: Nancy Sinatra's boots were made for walking & boy does she ever prove it! I really dug all of the different styles of boots Nancy was wearing for her special "Moving" with Nancy. Real cool outfits & clothes! The 60's was a very hip & cool time & Nancy really proved that fact! After watching the video you'll no what I mean. I was only 4 at the time when Nancy's special originally aired, & after watching "Moving" with Nancy for the first time, made me realize that i have really missed out! Nancy your special "Moving" is timeless & quite frankly will never be outdated. It top's all the specials of the time period & to no surprise you won an Emmy for it! Nancy I wan't to say that i am very happy that you decided to re-release your wonderful special so that all of your fan's & new fan's can enjoy once again or for the first time! Nancy I also most tell you that i saw your special being aired on AMC Americanpop & it was very nice to see you for the introduction & at the end. You look good! You alway's have & alway's will! Summary: A pure 60's pop experience!
Review: Nancy Sinatra=attitude, and this wonderful DVD bubbles over with it. From the very beginning NBC Color Peacock through the final "This has been an NBC Presentation," "Movin' With Nancy" takes the viewer back in time to a modder, madder time. The cinematography sparkles throughout, in a fantastic transfer that gives the illusion that the footage was shot a few days ago, not a few decades ago. The songs--from the opening "Gotta Get Out of This Town" through such Nancy hits as "Sugar Town" and "Friday's Child", and covers like "Up Up and Away" and "What I Say"-- all sound wonderful. Oh, and the clothes...! Mod to the max! The guest appearances (Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and "Daddy," in particular) highlight Nancy's family connections, and in a way bring back the past, especially if you, as I do, remember seeing "The Dean Martin Show" etc. back in the day. What I like even better than the special itself are the Royal Crown Cola commercials. Nancy notes in the accompanying booklet that the commercials were shot especially for the special, and were held to the same production values and style as the special themselves. Nancy does two different ones, both of which play up her tough kitten image and entwines it with the soft drink. Dino, Desi, and Billy make an appearance in one, as well-- filmed at the Hollywood Bowl, looking very much like it belongs in, say, "Help!" The other one, by some Australian guy who I had never heard of before, brings the style of late 1960's VOGUE magazine to the small screen in a trippy, model-filled sequence. And Art Linkletter introduces the story of the cola nut. Enough said. The disc also includes home movies taken on various filming locations, with commentary by Nancy and Jack Haley Jr. (the director). Nancy and Jack have audio commentary on the special itself, too, but I haven't gotten to the commentary yet because the main presentation distracts me so. If you have any interest in the mod/pop 1960's, whether it be television, music, or fashion, you MUST buy this DVD!

Review: Not badly made, ahead of its time, music video after music video featuring Nancy showing off those legs and million dollar smile. First five songs are worth a listen and watch. You'll laugh, you'll wonder how this ever came into existence. She's a much better singer than 'Boots were made for Walking' displayed. Royal Crown Cola commercials themselves almost worth the price of admission. Disappointing appearances by Dean Martin, Sammy Davis and Frank Sinatra. I'm not sure if this is just because they're all dead now, but I think its just that they're boring segments....maybe if they had let Sammy sing rather than just dance?! Never recovers after that till the very end when she hops back on the hot air balloon. She was SUCH a hotty!

Review: This DVD proves one thing. We have no originality in pop culture today! After taking one look at this in a ... bar a few weeks ago, it is certain that anything original coming from anyone in music and movies today is certainly a thing of the past! I talk to younger people all the time and I am amazed at how little they know about "history." Not the boring history from school but just history from a lot of things. Music, theatre, movies, books and opera-young people today know none of it! Now before I start dating...ahem...carbon dating myself, let me just say this DVD is the bomb! Nancy is at her all time best in this film! She's entirely original in this and it makes a huge statement on the changing climate of 60/70's glitter fashion that so perfectly clothed the masses of the disco era. What's funny in watching this "classic" is the uncanny similarity of Nancy's "look" in comparison to Britney Spears. I am sure some marketing exec at the big bad record company probably saw this cheesy film and thought, wow, we could make Britney Spears into that! Unlike Britney though, Nancy is actually a pop icon as opposed to Britney... Buy this DVD for it's nostalgic value, it's truly a classic to behold in any DVD collection
