What early Disney color films did so well is use rich and moody color. Seeing this film as a child on our first RCA color television has emblazened its memory in my cerebellum. That theme! I can still hear it now! Disney....read all these reviews and issue it on DVD now!
Oh, and lest I forget....ZORRO with Guy Williams also!

Review: I remember this movie from my childhood. I couldn't wait until The Wonderful World of Disney showed it. I remember it was a three-parter. I actually liked it better than I liked The Wizard of Oz. Bring it out, Disney, so others can enjoy this fabulous movie. I'll buy the first copy!

Review: When I was a little kid, I use to love watching Dr.Syn Alias the Scarecrow, I still remember the song that went with it. If Disney is looking at this review, I have only one favor to ask of them. Please re-release this timeless classic on both VHS & DVD format.

Summary: Dare to defy the Scarecrow?
Review: Of all the disney television classics from the 60's, this has to be #1. The story of Dr. Syn, portrayed suberbly by Patrick McCoggan, is fantastic storytelling in the great disney tradition. What sets this film apart from the others is its unique blend of British actors and sets used in the film. I can still remember waiting all day Sunday as a kid for Walt Disney Presents when the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh would be shown. Trying to mimic the laugh of the Scarecrow as I rode my bicycle down the road with my buddies. Young or old, this is a true treasure worth watching anytime.

Summary: Scarecrow? Every man would sing!
Review: 5 stars, if a good DVD came out of it.Yes, Disney should bring this one out in DVD format. I love it. However, if it does not have some kid doing that arm pull-down thing and saying "Yes!" Disney does not think it will sell. Now that the total flop "Treasure Planet" bombed, maybe they will take the time to rethink what does and does not sell. Bring back the Scarecrow to ride across the Romney Marsh again! The thing is though, that the SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH was made into three distinct episodes, The first about the Scarecrow, the second about the smuggler turning against the Scarecrow, the third about the escaped prisoners. The movie of it was cobbled together from those three episodes. If they make a DVD, they either need to re-edit to give it more continuity in the movie version, or do the three episodes.

Review: I was a teenager when i saw the scarecrow of romney marsh on the Wonderful world of Disney, and about 30 years later i was able to
rent the movie from a video store. The movie was then called Dr. Syn Alias the Scarecrow. Needless to say over the years, the
tape wore out, and i would pay any amount to have the movie in
DVD. Patrick Mcgooan the actor who plays the scarecrow in the movie portrays him brilliantly. The movie is in my opinion a true classic, and should be rereleased in DVD. Hope it comes out
soon, hopefully by the end of 2002.

Summary: Great Movie but Availability Disappointment
Review: I'n not impressed with the movies that the Walt Disney Company currently puts on the market, but the older generation movies like this one and others that many of my generation were raised on really stuck to me. Even at 22, this movie has really impressed me. Disney has locked these movies in a vault and sat on them for years. If they made them available on DVD, Disney would be impressed how many they would sell. Many parents today would buy these movies today for their kids because they realize the high quality these movies present without worrying about having the "explicit adult content" that many movies have today.

Review: I saw this phenominal film as a child in the 60's on "The Wonderful World of Disney". Then it was serialized into three episodes. As a child, we were mesmerized by this film, my brothers and I still trade the rare memorabilia available on Ebay. My brothers and I actually saw the film in its last theatrical release in the early 80s as "Dr. Syn, The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh". It was just as great as seeing it on TV only better becuase it was on a huge screen in my old neighborhood. I would love to be able to share this fantastic Disney production with my son someday soon. As kids, we dressed up as the Scarecow and various other characters from the film. I have actually written Disney several times to request that it be release on DVD. I cant wait until they do, Walt would insist upon it:)

Summary: The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh
Review: Growing up in the 60's Walt Disney was a staple, and the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh my all time favorite. I even bought the 45 record and about drove my parents nuts by playing it so much. This film displayed Disney talent at its best working on many levels from historical to pure entertainment. Luckily I taped the show several years ago, but have about worn the tape out. I would give almost anything to have this 3 part series on DVD.

Summary: A Classic That SCREAMS To Be Released On DVD!!!
Review: This is a fine example of the work Disney used to turn out; rich, character-laden features, often with dark undertones. You're not bloody likely to find ol' Uncle Walt's legacy turning out anything of this calibre these days. Partick McGoohan ("Secret Agent", "The Prisoner", "The Phantom") turns in his usual sterling performance as both the prim, stoic, mild-mannered church vicar by day, "Dr. Syn", & the oftimes blood-thirsty, out-for-justice avenger-by-night, "The Scarecrow". The supporting cast are equally good in this period piece, & it makes one yearn for movies to be made like they were in the "good old days". I've heard it (on fairly good authority) that Disney plans to release this title on DVD later this year. If that's the truth, I can permanently replace the three copies I've worn out over the past 20 years!!
