Summary: Patience Pays Off...
Review: This series of DVDs was originally released at the bargain rate of $90 with no extras. I'm still disappointed that these DVDs don't have any extras like interviews, season overviews, commentaries, etc. but at least the price has come down considerably and that is why I give these DVDs three, lukewarm stars.

To be given four or five enthusiastic stars, the people who put together the Forever Knight DVDs need to put in a lot of extras. They can use the extras found on the DVDs for Joss Whedon's shows as a model. Geraint Wyn Davies, Catherine Disher, Nigel Bennett and John Kapelos are all still working. All you have to do is look them up on the Internet Movie Database to find out what they have been up to lately. Maybe, they would like to put some extras on the DVDs? They have a lot of devoted fans to this show, so they might be interested in putting down their thoughts on the show and the characters onto DVDs.

If you are a die hard fan and your VHS tapes are on the their last legs, you might want to buy the DVDs now because I don't think that this part of the series will ever have the extras necessary to make this reviewer salivate.

If you are not a die hard, you might want to wait for Netflix to pick up the series. The last time that I checked Netflix didn't have Forever Knight but that may change. You can click on the "Contact Us" icon on their homepage and it will lead you to a page where you can send Netflix a title request. If enough fans send them title requests for Forever Knight, they will probably start carrying the title. In my opinion, this route would make the most economic sense for non-die hard fans.

Summary: VHS Quality At Best
Review: This is one of my favorite shows, glad it finally made it to dvd, but i have to say that you would really have to be a fan to enjoy this awful transfer! This is about the same quality that you would get while watching non-cable television, many artifacts, very, very grainy, no pride was taken at all in getting this set together, the only reason i gave it 3 stars is because i love the show, but shame on the people who released this, looks like it was produced by MADACY, one of the worst transfers i've seen and i've had dvd since it was released.

Summary: DEFINITE must-have for vampire aficianados
Review: A great vampire series with pathos and angst, and although it's similar in feel and style I think it's superior to the "Highlander" series. They have a common formula of "modern day problem juxtaposed with relevant historical flashback", but I think FK did it better. I had mixed feelings about the Rick Springfield pilot (NOT on this DVD, praise God), but most of those problems were cured by the sincere melodrama of Geraint Wyn-Davies and Nigel Bennett. Many debate the merits of the series' controversial ending, but I believe it was apros pos and truly the way it HAD to end!

This show was formative and although I watch with nostalgia, my wife has been watching season one with a teenage friend of the family and they both find it a fun, engaging show despite it's dated look and cheesiness.

WARNING: Columbia IS going to release season 2 in january '05, but if sales aren't good they WON'T release the final season 3! Fans and vampire lovers - buy this DVD and season 2! It's definitely worth it.

Summary: Better than expected
Review: I am a huge Geraint Wyn Davies fan... so off the bat I think this is a great collection. Quality of the dvd's I found much better than some of the other people who left reviews. The sound is terrific on my copy... in fact I can hear foot steps when characters are walking and all sorts of small sounds I never heard when the shows originally aired. I have no complaint on the syncing of voice over work, some other reviewers complained of this. I found it to be visually better on my dvd player and flat screen tv... terrific in fact. However, on my dvd player in computer it reflected the quality I recall from watching it originally on tv.
It is a great collection and well worth the cost!
