Summary: I can't believe it!!!
Review: After all these years, *finally* The Powers That Be have heard the pleas of Forever Knight fans. It boggles the mind that it took them this long, but I'm *so glad* they finally saw fit to release the first season to DVD. I can't wait to see the second and third seasons come out, but in the meanwhile I'll be one very happy camper as I watch the first one.

This can't be thought of as anything less than a truly historical occasion.

Summary: Dare to meet Divia!
Review: Normaly, I hate to review something that I do not have first hand knowlege of; BUT, this is one monumental exception. I would love to tell you that this DVD set is going to have wonderful features, menues, easter eggs, etc., but the single most important factor here is AVAILABILITY.

It took all of ten minutes for me to get hooked on this series during its original airing, and believe me, I've been trying to buy it ever since (too much is lost on VCD). These shows were hard to catch when they were still in production, then disappeared for the better part od a decade. PLEASE, don't miss your chance to view them.

Recent vamp theamed shows have been entertaining in the interum, but with the possible exception of 3rd season Angel, are fluff, by comparison. Modern examples are too FX driven, and overuse aulternate realms, whereas Forever Knight is certainly lower tech, but has wonderful historical flashbacks. These are genius in that they put the main character in the same situations, hundreds of years apart - they give you a glimpse of who and what he was, but more importantly, how he has changed, on his path to redemption.

I could go on, but I'll just say this: Dare to meet Divia. If you get that far and still can't make up your mind, one or two more tradgedies (literally) won't make any difference. BUY IT! BUY IT!! BUY IT!! BUY IT!! You'll like it.

Summary: Finally.....
Review: I have already preordered my copy of this DVD and I can't wait until October! The themes of this series are so powerful and so all encompassing. Yes, the series is about an 800 year old vampire trying to atone for his sins and regain his mortality, but the series is also about what it means to be human. We get to see ourselves through Nick's eyes and it isn't always pleasant.
I also love the fact that Forever Knight portrays vampires as humans who made a decision to become something more, not as demons or evil monsters. Just like their mortal counterparts, the vampires in this series can be compassionate, loving, ambivilant, and, yes, even evil.
I would recommend this show for anyone who wants more than just entertainment, this series gives you something to think about after you've watched it.

Summary: A must watch for the any sappy vampire lover
Review: Usually the type who goes for the cold, hard, must have facts in any review I must admit a certain personal interest in this one... Forever Knight is the emotional tale of an out of sort 13th century vampire seeking to regain his immortality. Lets face it, as a plot its not exactly orginal but for some reason... This series makes all those others look like cheap imitations. The special effects are pre-computer so don't expect spectacular FX. But, that is my only complaint. You will be blown away by the rich characters and deep tales of grief and atonement. The series was spawned by the 1989 made-for-television movie called "Nick Knight" staring Rick Springfield but dont hold that against it, it took the pale and wooden premise from the movie then took off running. I dare you to watch and not get hooked... go on... i dare ya!

Besides, Geriant Wyn Davies is not only Welsh, but extremly Hot.. And don't even get me started on Nigel Bennet.

Summary: Finally!
Review: If you had been waiting as long as I have been waiting for this collection, you would know that it has been far too delayed.

When the show was cancelled in the middle of its third season, many fans despaired of ever seeing Nick, Natalie, LaCroix and the rest again. Many petitions were signed to continue the series, create a movie, or just release the episodes.

All the requests were seemingly ignored...until now.

I have my very own (terrible quality) set of episodes taped from SciFi and USA over the years, out of order, scratchy and sometimes almost impossible to see.

The DVDs are such an improvement, I can't even describe it! Some people might complain about the lack of bonus features/interviews/etc., but the mere fact that the episodes are available in clear, sharp video and audio should satisfy fans...at least for now.

This is a series that only improves with multiple viewings, as subtle (Gemini Award winning) facets become clear. The acting from the principles is engrossing, and you may recognize cameos from other SciFi stars. Lush costuming, complex explorations of crime and love, evil and good, and yes, a few cheesy "vamp" effects characterize this well-loved show.

Having the first season is just the start, of course, and I'm sure we all look forward to the next two release dates. (Maybe they'll even slip in the rare blooper reel for the 2nd season?).

If you like good crime investigation, and good fantasy/scifi, this series is for you. (My friend calls it a cross between CSI and Interview with a Vampire. I'm not sure, but it is good!)

Summary: Eye popping
Review: This will be a great sell being that the show is so popular. But overall the DVD is a great idea. Excellent!!
