Summary: A Good Friend to Have
Review: I love Felicity and I was so happy to receive it for Christmas. Believe it or not, I did not even know it had been released, so I was even more ecstatic to find out that they were releasing the seasons (hopefully). Unfortunately, I missed the first half of the pilot episode because I spaced out that night it premiered. You can believe I was overjoyed to be able to watch all of it.
I started college when Felicity did and so I felt like we were going together. She was my favorite actress back then and I wanted to meet her. So, the DVD is the next best thing. Now I can watch it anytime I want. It is like reliving my first year of college. I can't wait until the other seasons come out. I am in as much anticipation now as I was when I had to wait for each new season to start on WB.
These DVD's are very much worth it especially if you were an avid Felicity fan who stuck through with her till the very end!

Summary: Wonderfully Nostalgic
Review: I received the Felicity set for Christmas and was surprised at how quickly I became hooked again on the series! I popped in the first disk on a Sunday afternoon and before I knew it I had watched 12 episodes!

It was great to relive the first season because there were so many things that I had forgotten about. Even if you had never followed the series when it was on the air, I highly recommend this set. This was a truly wonderful show that girls of any age can identify with. I just hope that the second season DVD set isn't too far behind this one:)

Summary: Can't Wait For 2nd Season
Review: I'm really excited that they came out with the first season DVD set. I was very upset when they cancelled the show, so I was very happy when I saw the boxed set. I really hope they release all the seasons because I will definately buy all of them.

Summary: Great Addition for those Felicitous Nights!
Review: Wow. Just got this for christmas, okay i admit i bought it as a gift for myself. This dvd collection is really a must have for any felicity fan. The video and Audio transfer really are quite good, for the most part better than what was played on television. The first season definately is the best, having Keri Russell taking home the Golden Globe for her performance here.

I like having the whole season in 3 amaray cases, makes it more compact. The animated intros are quite well done but become quite repetitive. The audio commentary for 'Felicity was Here' and 'Pilot' were very well done. It's quite funny listening to the shows creators talking about the show and cast, and what it was like to film it. They recorded this after Felicity finished airing indefinately so it tends to get slightly nostalgic.

Yes it is true that quite a few original songs have been replaced with more generic songs. The reasoning comes down to the dirty art of licensing. The great songs used were not licensed for DVD so therefore they had to either pay (probably quite a bit) for the orignal artists or get something cheaper for the songs that needed replacing.

They went with the latter i believe because of $$$$. Trying to save all they could making the dvd set. Plus I guess that they might not have seen Felicity as a very profitable commodity. Who knows.

The missing songs are a bit of a letdown, not having Aretha Franklin singing over the end of 'Thanksgiving' really does hurt the actions happening on screen. That song made the final scenes work - not anymore.

Nothing we can do about it - but word is that the upcoming Felicity Season Two DVD RELEASE will have alot more features - this comes from JJ's mouth so *yay*. I Can't wait.

Summary: one of the best Christmas gifts I got
Review: If you liked the TV show, buy this DVD! It's so moving, and we need to support the producers so they'll keep releasing more seasons. I want the whole set!

Summary: Very Good : With one let down
Review: I was very excited to see Felicity's first season had been released on DVD. I loved the show and it is nice to see old episodes again. I do have one major complaint with the music though. Original music from the tv season has been replaced with new songs for the DVD release and for many loyal felicity fans, this is an unhappy surprise. Some key scenes just don't feel the same now and this is a bit of a let down. Still waiting in anticipation for the next seasons on DVD though with hopes that they will manage to make it through without alteration!!

Summary: Hearing every "Hey" all over again
Review: I was ecstatic when I received the boxed set of "Felicity" as a Christmas present. I couldn't buy it for myself because I couldn't justify the cost. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. After spending Christmas morning watching five episodes, and reading the synopsis of the first-season episodes, I was thrilled that I could re-live each of these moments. It's amazing how much was packed in during that first season. Like many viewers, I followed the series less and less after the first season, so of course all my favorite episodes were ready for viewing, without commericials and without waiting a week between shows.

In the pilot episode, you see why Felicity follows Ben to New York instead of attending Stanford. At college, Felicity meets Noel, her charmingly goofy R.A., Julie, a street-wise girl who needs a friend as much as Felicity does, Elena, serious and studious, but ready to cut loose, and Meghan, the wacky roommate, who never fails to bring Felicity down. Throughout the course of their freshman year, Felicity and her gang worry about finals, choosing a major, money matters, family matters, and, of course, matters of the heart. You fall in love with Ben and Noel all over again, and agonize with Felicity when she is forced to choose between the two.

Not only are all the episodes there, the pilot and season finale have audio commentary by J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves. The commentary was recorded after the series ended, but the two still give the viewers some interesting tidbits about the show and the actors. Too bad all the episodes don't have commentary--that's my only complaint.

If you loved "Felicity," buy it! You may think it's not worth the cost, but 24 hours (including commentary) of our favorite curly-haired co-ed is definitely worth it. Also remember that in the first season you see Ben with his awesome haircut, Noel wailing "Everybody Hurts," Felicity losing her virginity to Simon Rex, Jennifer Garner before her "Alias" days, and hear all of Sally's wisdom.

Summary: Almost Perfect
Review: Felicity's first season is flawless. The Pilot ranks among the best ever on television. Well-written, well-filmed, well-cast, it touches just the right nerve. Moving without dripping with sentimentality, wise without being preachy. The First Season also works because of "Sally"'s voice, Felicity's tutor who provides us with the unseen but simple yet wonderfully delivered "reflection of the day" - this device, which has set the series apart from all others, sadly, disappears in the other seasons.

The DVD, however, is not as perfect because of its lack of supporting material: interviews, deleted scenes, the works. It would have been a wonderful bonus for ardent Feclity fans.

Also, important to note: because of copyright reasons, several of the original music that accompanied the show on broadcast, could not be used for the DVD version. This affects the feel of several scenes to a certain extent. Nothing to go crazy about, but worth noting nonetheless.

Still the best season of all, though, and therefore, definitely worth your money.

Summary: THE BEST SHOW EVER!
Review: This show is the best show to be put on the air! For 4 years of my life, I watched Felicity without missing an episode. I felt as though I was right there going to college with the Felicity gang and experiencing everything with them. That's how good the show is/was! I just hope that they make seasons 2,3,& 4 available on DVD soon as well to put the whole show in its rightful entirety. Love this show! Worth buying indeed!

Summary: Excellent beginning for the series!
Review: The WB network was cut off from my area for a couple years but I did manage to watch the entire first season of Felicity when it first premiered. I was immediately hooked into the show after the first episode. The chemistry between the actors is great. The writing is excellent combined with witty humor and drama. And the characters are actually people we grow to care about. Hopefully I'll get to see the rest of the series in syndication or on dvd, but I definitely recommend getting this collection especially if you enjoy the WB dramas.
