Summary: Should deserve to be watched 'til the end on DVDs!
Review: Will the other seasons really not be released forever? this is the best show and won't be able to watch until the end on DVD anymore? I really like later seasons and i need to see from start to finish, which means they must release until the final. Please reconsider it and remember there are lots of fans just waiting for more seasons to come out on DVD!!!!!

Review: "Party of five" is a TV show about the salingers, a family which struggles to deal with life dificulties, after the tragic death of their parents, in a car accident.Charlie, Julia, Claudia, Bailey and Owen are characters who will never be forgotten by fans. They were so real and true that anyone watching "Party of five" could identify with them and learn valuable lessons of life. Throughout its six seasons, "Party of five" showed us many memorable moments, and now Columbia is finally releasing the complete first season in a 5-DVD set! No one should miss the "Thanksgiving" episode, praised by critics and winner of awards, in which the salingers have to confront the responsible for their parents death. This episode is touching and very well directed. This DVD set is full of extras, such as the "Family album", a TV special with the show's making-off, as well as cast interviews. There are also some commentaries made by directors and cast to the main episodes. I really hope this DVD set sells thousands of copies, so that Columbia can release all the 6 seasons. I'm looking forward to watch second season again to see the "wedding" episode, one of TV's masterpieces of all times. Party of five fans out there, never let the spirit of the show die, because "everybody wants to be closer to free"! Order your DVD set now, before it is out of stock!

Summary: I NEVER, EVER WRITE A REVIEW BUT...
Review: ...I am SO FREAKIN excited that this show is coming to DVD. I have been wishing and hoping to get this whole series on DVD. I LOVED this show. It was so well written and well acted. I am not the type of guy to cry at movies and it takes a lot to pull at my heart strings but this show managed to do it on a weekly basis. This is one of those shows you couldn't miss and couldn't wait until the next episode. I loved this tv family and May 4th cannot come soon enough for me. It really was one of the best family dramas of all time. I can't wait to have that feeling again..... TEN STARS...buy this DVD people...you won't regret it (or at least buy it so the sales will be good enough so I can get the whole series...lol)

Summary: Hardly a five
Review: <----- May contain spoilers ----> This is the comedy show where the San Francisco household of 5 brothers and sisters is run by a 3 foot tall, 11-year old munchkin named Clod who plays a violin. Unfortunately, in this first season, her voice has yet to change into that nails-on-blackboard screech that will amuse us for the next 5 or so years. Sadly, we discover she will not realize her childhood dream of marrying her gay violin teacher. Talk about spoiling the fun! Another comedy character is her older sister, Jool, who is 15 years old, but looks 20 which enables her to illegally work in a bar and wear revealing leather outfits, and to date men in their twenties or thirties. However, she counteracts her physically-advanced appearance by having the mentality of an 8 year old schizophrenic. She can - and does - skwinch her face into a simultaneous frown and smile, and sighs at the same time. This is no easy feat. She does it in nearly every scene, in reaction to every event, which alone should have won some type of acting award - like a Razzie. Next is Bailey, a 24 year old high school junior. He is often referred to as Bay - as in "why don't we just dump your body in San Francisco Bay?". It is funny that he supposedly is the soft and caring one of the group, but spends most of his time yelling at everyone. Everyone else yells too, but nevermind that. He finally loses his virginity to another 20-something high school drug addict that no one else likes. Either she is not too smart or is very smart, by asking Bay how fast his Jeep went - hey, it's not a Ferrari - to draw attention to herself. In a gut-busting comedic turn, he spends much of his time trying to dump her yet always goes back to her, cuz see, now he's whipped. Later, instead of checking in to rehab, she checks out - permanently. Just say no! The top rung on the ladder is Charlie. He has always been a loser and normally fails at everything he tries. This is apparently due to a birth defect resulting in his brain being lodged in his pants, giving him "women problems". Not the kind of "woman problems" that Clod discovers, but problems with a particular woman because of all his past women. They love each other and fight for several episodes until finally she moves in, and they fight some more. You can't write funnier stuff than that. Except the time when Charlie makes the decision to move to Seattle to actually make something of himself, but the others don't want to go. Then they decide they will go after all, but Charlie has backed out of the business deal to spare them the hassle of a) Clod giving up the violin she doesn't want to play anymore, anyway, B) Jool giving up a re-tread boyfriend, and C) Bay just giving up. There is an adage in Hollywood about not working with children or pets. In comedic disregard, the producers put a lethargic panting dog named Thurber in the show. There is also a baby named Owen played by three sets of twins, but not all at once. A few other highlights include Jool spending 800 bucks on model photography and apparently ending up in the photo that comes in new photograph frames. Clod's violin teacher gets in touch with his feminine side and decides to become a mother by adopting a new-born baby. Too numerous to itemize are the instances of sticking noses where they don't belong, saying silly things, and never ever taking a hint. Overall, I did shed a tear - for buying this. Seriously, I'm surprised it made it past the pilot, but it's good that many people apparently got something out of it - all that pain and suffering should not go to waste. I appreciate the effort that went into the show but not the result. DVD extras include 3 cast commentaries that are quite sparse and mostly giggles. The co-producer's commentaries are a little better. The collection of short cast/crew comments was passable.

Review: All I have to say is; where are seasons 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. This is as good as I had remembered and watched all 5 discs in 2 days. I am hopeful they will release the other seasons soon....and maybe even give us Beverly Hills 90210!

Review: Amazing cast with amazing acting in an amazing show! It portrays the highs and lows of life and how the Salinger family deal with it. If we get the rest of the seasons on DVD you will be able to witness the wonderful growth of Claudia,Julia, Bailey and little Owen. Party of Five is a must see for everyone!

Summary: Release Season 2!
Review: Bought and loved PO5 season one. I Gave it only four stars due to the extras not being too great. The only problem in buying this DVD is that the other seasons are not available to purchase. Give the people who spent 6 watching the respect and thanks we deserve and release the other seasons on DVD.

Summary: An example of television at its finest!
Review: Don't be swayed by the fact that, late in its run, this show jumped the shark every week (their parents dying turned out to be the least of their worries). The first season of this show was probably the most remarkable. With incredible writing, top-notch production values, and fine performances from a cast of relative unknowns (who would come back in season two already looking more scrubbed and polished by agents and publicists) this television series was a rare bright star in a firmament of schlock. It is a prime example of what television can be when everything is working as it should. For a long time it was the "best show nobody was watching". But anyone who knew anything about good television, including a lot of critics and fans, were quick to note how important and well-done this show really was. It certainly did not go unnoticed that the Thanksgiving episode (in which the Salinger children confronted the drunk driver who killed their parents) won the Humanitas prize (and actually just sent a shiver down my spine recalling the emotion of that episode. The show was just THAT good). I have no doubt that Party of Five (among a precious few others from around the mid-nineties like MSCL) will stand the test of time. This season stands out as among the very best. This DVD set will be a must-buy for me.
