Summary: great storys! iffy transfer..
Review: I'll not speak much on the show, rather on WB's packaging. My B5 season 2 came like season 1 came...with a couple of discs that had popped out of the clasp and slid around in transport, leaving a few scratches. I was disappointed at the transfer, but the show was made a while ago and some scenes are almost too dark to transfer well. As I was watching one of the season's gems, "In the Shadow of Z'Ha'Dum", I thought that this episode seems to have a better transfer than the others, almost like the episodes that J. Michael Straczynski wrote himself got more attention in transfering. Fine with me. The other ep's have some streaks, grainy-ness and even a few video "hairs". Given that the special effects, being so stellar, are almost as important as a main character, you would think WB would put some extra effort into this. It almost looks better watching it on Scf-Fi channel! Anyways, I still recommend this, and the whole series, as one of the greatest scifi shows of all time. The writing is incredibly sharp, the actors all at the top of their game, and the production team is so good, you don't notice that this show had a much smaller budget than Star Trek:TNG. The whole story arc demands repeat viewing time and again, to fully understand JMS's genius. Minus one star for transfer.

Summary: Best box set presentation that I have seen
Review: I have purchased boxed sets of X-Files, Star Trek TNG, Buffy and Angel. I liked the extras that X-Files has, but I wished the TV Promos were on the disks with the appropriate episodes. Buffy and Angel had good extras, but they didn't include the TV promos. Star Trek TNG had good extras, but they also didn't include the promos, and since it is Star Trek, you would think they could have included tons of extras. The Babylon 5 boxed sets are almost perfect. The menus are great, and the fact that they have the TV promos right next to each episode is perfect! The extras are outstanding! They have behind the scenes info, commentaries and station tours (and a gag reel on season 2). The style of the box is like a book, which I like the best because I don't have to have 3 feet of space on the table to get a disc out. I can't wait for season 3!!

Review: Babylon 5 is one of the best sci-fi series ever! It has a great story line. Note to those new to the series, make sure to watch these episodes from the beginning to understand all the meaning to the story. Babylon 5 has great casting and great writing - that is something that is hard to find now days.

Review: We were disappointed with generally untriumphant red box of season one. The blue box, on the other hand, added a particular coldness to season 2 but overcame it with a vibrant and dynamic liquorish flavor.

Summary: Babylon 5, the greatest Scifi series ever made.
Review: Babylon 5 is the only Scifi(or any) T.V. series in the USA that was prewriten before the first episode was shot! Long and complex (but VERY coherent) story that spans 5 years. Long story short "B5"(a.k.a. Babylon 5) is to Scifi what "Lord of the Rings" is to fantasy.

Review: Babylon 5 is the most intelligent sci-fi show I have ever had the opportunity to watch. This is the second season, a new captain and a lot of revelations. It is not the best of all five seasons, but it is very important to the future of the series. Therefore it is a must for every fan of good science fiction.

Summary: Babylon 5 season 2, picking up speed...
Review: The Coming of the shadows picks up directly where signs and portents leaves off with the exciting climax, chrysalis, where earth-alliance President Santiago is assasinated, Ambassador Delen enters a Chrysalis, Kosh attempts to warn sinclair of the coming of the shadows, and the narn military outpost is destroyed in the first large scale involvment of the shadows. Season 2 introduces new characters including Bruce Boxlinger(sp) as Captian John Sheridan. In this season you will also bear witness to the building of the army of light, and the regrouping of the shadows, as well as a very dramatic rise to power of the tainted influences of the HomeGaurd. Season 2 captures events on the rise as they move towards season 4's climax. All around I, as most Fivers, Praise this Saga as one of if not the best story ever told, for it's romance, realism(as far as characters go),drama, and it's overall thematic power. This Story will move you in ways you cannot yet imagine, however, it will take the full 5 year series to do so. If you have the paitience, and the capasity... youare in for a treat you will not soon forget.

Summary: Babylon 5 Set Apart from the rest
Review: The reason that I feel that Babylon 5 is such a good Science Fiction Series is the sub plots that run throughout the series at all levels (political, personal etc). There is depth to the characters that you do not get in many other Sicence Fiction series. This is aided by the fact that this is not an episodal like most series out there today. Stories run over many episodes which draws you in for the next one. I hope to see series 3, 4 and 5 out soon :)

Review: Babylon 5 takes SF into new directions (literally and figuratively)-- introducing the idea of a compelling story arc over 5 years, as well as exceptional character development and accurate science to back up their theories! One can only hope that WB will continue to market the DVD's thru the entire 5 seasons and the movies--rather than quit in the middle (as they did with VHS, leaving collectors hanging for home-made copies of the seasons they conveniently did not publish in VHS (3/4 of season 2, all of season 3, 3/4 of season 4). If you are a collector, beware of WB's habit of quiting--and get a DVD recorder--or shop ebay for complete collections! This series is definitely worth a look, and is one of the best, if not the best, science fiction ever presented on television.

Summary: Looking forward
Review: Newcomers disciplined enough to have viewed the first season in it's entirety can now begin to reap the rewards of having listened to the high praise of this series. Season 1 was indeed merely a foundation but a necessary one, the main arc of which centered around the hole in Commander Sinclairs mind. With season 2 the story builds and moves, especially in the later half. This is the season that created the addicts who became evermore dependent with the even better seasons 3 and 4. Having viewed the entire series in it's entirety thrice I guarantee you that once you finish the series you can go back to the first season and go "ah" with appreciation and admiration for what it was and, surprisingly, what clever devices were placed there that you may not have realised. Of course that again leads to season 2 and the addictive cycle repeats itself.
