Summary: Well produced soft-core porn
Review: We've seen this before, a bunch of guys sittin' around talkin' about how they "scored" last night. Each guy's diatribe leads into a scene displaying the described mattress mambo. Except it's not guys this time. That's really the only difference. Sure there is more whining and talk about "relationships" but its the same old hoochie-koochie in a different dress.

So I say rent some porn instead. Porn is cheaper, the acting is sometimes better than in this show, it's more honest and the "payoff" is greater.

Summary: One of THE BEST SHOWS ON TELEVISION.
Review: HBO definetely did it right with this series. One of the funniest shows on television!

This series delves into the lives of 4 single women in New York. Through their trial and tribulations you take part in their quest for sexual happiness.

Summary: Fabulous!!!!!
Review: Although I did not begin watching Sex and the City at the beginning of the first season, I have seen a few of these episodes before and I could watch them over and over again. I have also read the book by Candace Bushnell after becoming a huge fan of the show and I loved it as well. The person in charge of casting is simply brilliant (and fabulous!) Keep up the fabulous work. PS. Love, love, love...Chris Noth!!!

Summary: Kick Back and Relax
Review: It so funny, I can't help but rewind some bits just to watch them again and laugh. Okay so the picture quality is not supurb if your sitting with a magnifying glass but who cares - the stories are there, the laughter is there and it's reality, anyone who watches will get hooked. This DVD is great for people on the go, if you have a half hour to spare in your day when you want to unwind and watch some tv - this is the DVD for you. Watch whichever episode you like any time. I can't wait for the 2nd season release - when is it coming out?

Summary: Content good, appearance bad
Review: I really like this show but the video quality leaves a lot to be desired. If you're enough of a fan of the show and the lack of video quality doesn't bother you, this DVD set is nice. Otherwise, wait for reruns and tape the shows. If your cable reception is like mine, the video quality will be far better on an SP tape than what you'll find on these DVDs.

Summary: ABSOLUTELY FAB
Review: This is so unbelievably honest and straight to the point. Raw but true and not always "happy" like everything else. Its a slice of real life. LOVE IT. NEED THE SECOND SEASON SOON.

Summary: Big Disappointment (DVD Version)- What you need to know!
Review: I bought "Sex and the City - The Complete First Season" on DVD. After the intro, the disk stopped playing. The error message said the disk is encoded with Macrovision protection software, and could not be played on my DVD player, and to contact my DVD player manufacturer for further information. I won't mention the name of my DVD manufacturer here, but suffice it to say that it is a well-known and reputable company, and the model is relatively new and not cheap. I have played many DVDs on it, for example from Blockbuster Video, without any problem. I also just bought "The Sopranos - The Complete First Season" on DVD from Amazon.com and it played without problem. I called my manufacturer, and they told me that today there are several different DVD formats, and they are not all compatible with each other. Apparently "Sex in the City" is encoded using one of those versions that is not standard. HBO Studios is the company that produces/distributes "Sex in the City" on DVD. "The Sopranos" is published by another studio. Unfortunately there was nothing that would allow me to play "Sex in the City" on my DVD player, and I had to return it. For the future it appears that until DVD becomes completely standardized, it's risky to buy one without confirming ahead of time that there is nothing unusual about the format used on that particular disk.
