Summary: Almost the best.
Review: I enjoyed reliving the episodes of the Mr. Bean series on this DVD, the transfer was good. However, I was left with the feeling that something was amiss when watching certain episodes. Like the other reviewers said, there are certain scenes edited from the episodes. What a shame, otherwise it would have been a great complete DVD.

Summary: Get From The BBC - NO ITV (And there is NONE missing)!
Review: I would disagree with whoever wrote the review giving only one star. Mr Bean was NEVER produced, released or screened by the BBC - but by ITV. ITV shows commercials and so to allow space for these each episode shown is 25 minutes!I was born an raised in Britain and watched Mr Bean first hand every time they were released. There is NO missing footage and I feel that people should check their facts before bad-mouthing establishments like A&E. This collection is great - including the documentary and Is well worth the money!

Review: I love Mr. Bean, but how could the editors have cut the classic "weighing the turkey" and "trying out the easy chair" scenes? There are other cut scenes. What on earth is the justification?

Summary: Beware this Butchered DVD Collection from A&E
Review: Mr. Bean is the tops, but this DVD collection is the pits - they've needlessly butchered the episodes leaving out funny scenes! If you want the episodes intact, stick with the VHS tapes originally released by PolyGram Video, if you can still find them. What a major disappointment!! A&E should be ashamed of themselves! What gall they have to subtitle the collection "The Whole Bean". Hah!

Review: How can A&E call this "The Whole Bean" when the episodes are all butchered down by about three minutes each? And what possible justification can they have for this? Surely there wasn't a problem getting the full versions from the BBC. Surely the extra minutes would have fit on these three discs. So why oh why did A&E screw up this long, long awaited Mr. Bean release? Incompetence is the only logical explanation. I'll wait until the BBC's own PAL discs show up on Amazon.co.uk and figure out how to play them then. A&E: Three jeers for this release; you've lost my faith in you.

Summary: Should be called "The Missing Pieces of Mr. Bean"
Review: When I heard that all the classic Mr. Bean episodes were going to be released on DVD finally, I was excited. However, after receiving it, I noticed, as did many others here who have submitted reviews, that certain key scenes were missing from some of the episodes.Two glaring omissions on disc 2 include the "Turkey Weigh-In" scene from "Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean", and, the "Chair Sabotage" scene from "Do It Yourself, Mr. Bean". Discs 1 and 3 appear to have no missing scenes that I have noticed.Fortunately I still have my VHS "Box of Bean" collection, which I will keep, in order to preserve the episodes in their original entirety.The bonus features are wonderful, and am glad to see their inclusion. However, I was a bit dismayed by the omission of the live Boston performances of the classic "In The Church" sketch.I support the other reviewer's sentiments in the hope that a COMPLETE Whole Bean will become available some time in the future. I also hope the live Boston performance will become available on DVD as well. I would have otherwise rated this a 5-star collection, had everything been intact

Summary: Mr. Bean Is Outstanding In Every Way
Review: I just recieved the Mr. Bean, the complete Bean box set from Amazon.com. It was everything I had hoped for and more. Back in 1990, I began watching this series and taping it from time to time. It was never on at a constant time, and so finding the episodes on TV were rare and surprising. I saw the VHS copies out in my local video store but what hessitant to buy them because I knew that a transfer to DVD would be inevitable. Now,I was both happy and excited when I learned that A&E would be putting this spectacular show together in its entirety with loads of bonus features. Rowan Atkinson stars as the funny, amazingly talented, and addictive bufoon Mr. Bean, who gets himself into mess after mess without cause or reason. Anything that can go wrong with his daily life, does. From taking an exam, to going to church, to meeting the Queen of England, Mr. Bean can't seem to do anything right. The DVD is in a nicely packaged set, 3 Discs are included, and the third disc has the bonus features including a documentary of Mr. Bean and a look at some never before seen skits. If you ever watched this show, here is your chance to have it forever in amazing DVD quality, if you have never seen the show, here is a chance to own over 6 hours of laughs. You will not be dissapointed. Purchase this at the very low price it is being offered, sit back and laugh till it hurts at Beanie- that's what I call him, and Teddy as well, of course.

Summary: Good, Bad, and Disappointing!
Review: I've always wanted to have Mr. Bean, whole episodes and I have it now! Very funny skits and very funny Rowan Atkinson. I laughed[]again and again. I've seen it 5 times. I love it! Enough with praise! I was dissapointed by two scenes that have been edited out. Why! Like everyone wrote, Two great scenes are missing. Why! Why! There is an Australian version of DVD of Mr. Bean (10th Anniversary Collection)that has running time of 420 min. (45 min more that the American version) I'm not sure if it has those two missing scenes in. Does anyone know anything about it? Anyway, if you are a big fan of Mr. Bean (Like me), want to see all the funs, and don't care about those two missing scens; then own it! It is good and hella funny! I give it, 4/5 stars

Summary: I am looking for my watch (and DVD remote)
Review: I remember getting up early in the morning to watch Mr. Bean on PBS before going to school. Then suddenly the show went off the air. Gone was the way to "pop out for a quick lunch", how to get your head out of a turkey and looking for your watch during a magic act. UNTIL NOW! This 3 DVD-Set contains all 14 classic episodes. (The missing episode "Reflections of Mr. Bean" isn't a big loss since most of it was a clip show.) While some of them are edited, most namely Merry Christmas Mr. Bean where he weighs the turkey, you get 2 never before seen in the U.S. skits including one hilarious one where Mr. Bean goes on the show Blind Date. You have to see this one to believe it! There is also another hilarious as h**l extra skit where Mr. Bean visits an Ice Skating event, watch the antics unravel as he goes from purchasing tickets in an interesting way to what happens when he goes to the rink. Plus there are 2 sketches entitled the Library and the Bus Stop which are also classics. There is also the story of Mr. Bean which is more of a Rowan Atkinson biography but you'll see there is more to him then Mr. Bean. Plus there is a trailer for the yet to be seen in the U.S. Mr. Bean cartoon series.
If you are a Mr. Bean fan, what are you waiting for? Add this to your collection. Don't worry about the edited scenes, which I agree could have been safed. But, the extras make up for it. 4 out of 5 only because of the cursed 3 wheel car. Ah! Now I can resume picking which shirt I want to bring on my vacation.

Summary: Consumers need to take a stand...Don't buy Bean!!
Review: I was never so appalled by a DVD product as I am with The Whole Bean! Obviously these were the episodes which were shown on commercial television (A&E) which needed to be cut in order to accomodate the commercials. This would not have been an issue had the BBC produced this series on their own. Luckily I was forwarned by reviews here and then received the proof when my friend purchased them. I am a big fan of Mr.Bean, but I will not compromise my standards just to satisfy a need. Companies need to realize that producing a sub standard product will not be tolerated. If Mr. Bean sells well (which it probably will) then this only enboldens such companies to release further truncated versions of films and television series. Wait for Mr. Bean to come on your local PBS station instead of catering to a company that does not care about the consumer.
