Daewoo DV6T955B DVD / VCR Combo

Summary: Broken right out of the box
Review: Brand new unit, but the VCR player would not rewind. Too bad too, because the VCR plays fine, as does the DVD player...nice picture and sound, and it plays DVD+Rs, VCDs, etc. as advertised on Amazon. The unit looks nice enough too, though a little large. It has a solid feeling construction...made of metal and not plastic like many of the new low-end models. Regardless of what works, without the VCR being able to rewind, it's certainly not proving its reliablity. I guess I am glad it showed itself right away. Am going to return and buy a better quality unit for about $50 more.

Summary: Poor DVD player
Review: I bought this for my parents for Christmas, expecting to easily convince them that DVD was superior to VHS. This was a terrible unit to buy to try to do that with! The DVD only played about halfway through before it started freezing up. I cleaned the disc thoroughly and the problem just kept getting worse and worse. I tried 3 different discs and they all had similar problems, and these were discs that played fine in my DVD player at home. Needless to say, after spending 3 hours trying to watch a 2 hour movie (and still not making it all the way through) they decided DVD must be more trouble than it is worth. I'm returning this unit today and buying a different brand, even if it means spending a little more money.

Review: i purchased this product about a year ago and have found it to very good. it responds quickly and provides great clarity. The VCR is a six head vcr and it shows like i had expected, great. Overall, very nice product and would purchase a daewoo product again.

Review: let alone the price. This is actually the second one I've had as the first stopped working within thirty days. I assumed it was a fluke and like a fool exchanged it for a new one instead of getting my money back. Within six months this one has stopped reading discs. The VCR is still working at the moment but if all I wanted was a VCR I could've bought one for half the price of this unit.

Summary: stopped working after 4 months
Review: This dvd player stopped reading discs about four months after I bought it. It will only read a disc about once every 30 tries now and has started eating dvds. Not only does the laser fail to read the discs now, but the belt is also broken and the dvd fell off the tray and was damaged. And the other annoying part is that the VCR still works fine, so it seems a waste to scrap it altogether. You're better off having a separate dvd player, and certainly not a "daewoo" one. It may seem like a bargain, but believe me, it's not.
