Summary: A real roller-coaster ride
Review: This is NOT a movie for people who are looking for an intricate plot or finely-detailed, sensitive characters. This is strictly action fare, lots of blood and near-cartoon-like violence, with quite a few twists and turns along the way. Like "Psycho," it starts out as a crime movie, waits for you to get comfortable with that plot, then BAM--it changes into a horror movie.That's not to say that the characters are two-dimensional or badly acted: most of the actors manage to flesh out their characters quite well (and Quentin Tarantino serves up a guy you do NOT want to ever meet). If you like George Clooney, you'll probably like him here as a bad/good guy with very few morals but a lot of style. Harvey Keitel and Juliette Lewis also turn in good performances, and Salma Hayek is deliciously deadly in her small but pivotal role.

Summary: SALMA HAYEK!
Review: There's no other reason to watch or buy this film - Salma at her sexiest! It's brief, but memorable. Harvey Keitel walks through his role, George Clooney sleeps through his, and the less said about Quentin the better. I bought this used, because I'd never pay full price for it. Salma is a goddess. I hope she can act, and proves it some day. Until then, my oh my, look at how she looks!

Summary: Best Bank Robber Vampire Movie Ever!
Review: I admit to not liking this film when I saw it in the theater all those years ago. I thought it trite and that it suffered from multiple personality disorder, since it started out as standard Quentin Tarantino crime-fare and wound up a vamp splatter fest. I'm pleased to say that repeated viewings have increased my appreciation for "From Dusk Till Dawn". The Gecko Brothers, George Clooney (in his best role yet) and Quentin himself, are bank robbers and complete badasses. Seth is the cool, collected one, self-assured and able to control his inner rage. Richard, on the other hand, is dimensia on two legs, giving in to his blood lust as though it were a heroin high. The two are on their way to a rendezvous with a man who can make them "disappear" until the heat dies down. For reasons we don't need to get into, the pair kidnap Harvey Keitel, faith-lapsed preacher, and his two children and force them to help them across the border. The rendezvous takes place at ... a biker bar cum strip club built on the ruins of an old temple. The kicker? The temple/bar houses gazillions of vampires who feed on the truckers and bikers who frequent the place and, presumably, keep the bar going by selling the cargo in their pirated trucks. The shift from crime to horror is not as abrupt as it sounds. In several instances, director Rodriguez suggests that the carnage exacted on the bar's patrons is no more horrible than that Richie Gecko inflicts on the people with whom he comes in contact. In a way, Richie is a vampire already, an opportunist who feeds on adrenaline and power. Keitel seems horribly miscast in his role, but comes off believably and even sympathetically. Juliette Lewis is annoying, as usual, but that at least gives us some pleasure hoping she gets fang-fu'ed by one of the vamps. The kid who plays Keitel's son is acceptable. But the person who really shines is woodface Clooney; for once, his underacting really pays off. He even comes across as sympathetic toward the end. The extras and vampires are wonderful. Other bar patrons who (mostly) survive are funny, macho cartoon characters. Salma Hayek, in her too brief appearance, is absolutely electric. This is a goofy film that requires very little from the viewer beyond a strong stomach and a sense of humor. I wanted a tad more backstory, since I was confused about the many types of vampires that seemed to exist - some were batlike, some were snakelike and some seemed wolflike. I would have expected a little clan infighting among these different species and wanted to know more about how they came to be. But that's not what this movie is about.

Review: when i picked this DVD up at my local wal-mart i noticed that it was a little heavy, when i got home i found out that there are 2 DVD's in the package, which i was supprised. the first Disc has the movie "full Tilt Boogie" which was an awsome behind the scenes look at what was going on during filming. the Sceond disc has the movie itself plus tons of extras! the commentary was pretty cool (quentin was so excited 'cause it's his first commentary) the hollywood goes to hell behind the scenes was pretty much the same as full tilt boogie, but it did have some extra stuff that boogie did'nt have. if you don't have from dusk till dawn on DVD get this version, but if you do have it on DVD, rent this version.

Summary: Dusk till Dawn Collector Series DVD review
Review: The commentary from the director and writer was very verbose. They rarely talked about the scenes. This was a commentary that was easier to listen to if you weren't actually watching the movie. Scenes would trigger memories of events happening as they were making the movie and they would go off on tangents for long periods. Although the stories they relate are interesting, I'd prefer they actually talked about scenes in the movie. Another drawback to the commentaries was you couldn't change them by using the 'Change Audio' button, but had to change it at the main menu. Since you couldn't hear the dialogue during the commentary, it would have been nice to be able to easily switch back and forth. The full-length documentary film 'Full Tilt Boogie' was interesting and showed what it was like shooting the film. This comes on a completely separate DVD. The name of the documentary comes from a line one of the crew uses to describe the shooting of the film. The gallery stills run very fast and aren't that interesting. The music videos include the song used for Salma's dance. This is just lifted from the film and some other shots from the film are intercut, but nothing new. The Zztop song is included and features Clooney and Salma in a completely different location. It looks like someone's expense house. The plot for the video isn't very interesting. The outtakes are mainly actors not getting their lines right and aren't funny. The cut scenes aren't very interesting either. The longest one being a much more graphic and gross bar fight scene which even I couldn't stomach. The director also gives commentary on how he shot the opening scene and the bar fight scenes. This was along the lines of his commentary for 'Desperado', only not as good. Finally the a 30-minute featurette is also included and gives some more interviews with the cast and crew, some scenes are lifted from 'Full Tilt Boogie.' Overall, I'd say if you have this film on the previously released DVD, I wouldn't bother replacing it. There is nothing interesting enough that is added.

Summary: *Very Average, and a weird story line*
Review: The movie "From Dusk Till Dawn" is strange in it's ways of how the story line goes. It starts off with two guys trying to get to Mexico to get some money that is owed to them for killing known cowboys in the USA. They end up capturing hostages and get them to drive them through to the border of Mexico. They get through and end up at the 'Dusk Till Dawn' joint. Things were really great in this movie until this stage. The movie then leads into them being there and all the dancers and strippers turning into vampires, in which they fight against them till dawn comes. In my part, why start a movie off so excellent, and then let it all drop at the end basing it on vampires in such a remote and small location as the 'dusk till dawn' joint. "From Dusk Till Dawn" shows no really great horror scene. I think the strange part about it is the fact it goes from an action movie to a silly horror scene. This movie is one to borrow or rent, with my opinion do not buy it.

Summary: A double disc set!
Review: I just got this edition of "From Dusk Till Dawn" and was so suprised to see that the film is a double disc set. Disc one is the making of film "Full Tilt Boogie" which runs almost as long as the film. This disc's clarity is freakin' great and the sound is wonderful (no dts, though). It is very much worth picking up. It has tons of extras and all sorts of fun goodies. The commentary is great, and the cast interviews are fun to watch too. The deleted scences are not too fantastic, but who cares...the film is perfect already. This is a total exploitation flick full of violence and over the top langauge. Not too heavy on sex, but there are a few scenes that would be very uncomfortable to watch with mom and dad in the room. So, viewer beware of the content. Other than that the film is just plain fun.

Summary: 2 Short movies
Review: This is not really a movie. It's just two stories put together with no link at all. It has very little to remember, other than Salma Hayek dancing in that wonderful bikini. Without her, I would have rated it with only one star. It's not a good comedy, nor a terror story, the characters have no appeal, everything is too predictable, the script is crap, the acting is not good either, etc, etc. If it not were for Salma....

Summary: Uhh, HELLO!
Review: This is not a guy movie. Sorry, but this incredibly great exploitation flick is just as much fun for girls. I know, cause hi, I'm a girl. Quentin Tarantino (Who I happen to think is cute, besides being insane and brilliant) wrote and starred in this. Despite the fact that some say he can't act, I think he was very good, clearly enjoying himself (although I'd love to see the parents who spawned both him and george). George (Who i know is hot) is great, also enjoying a juicy role. The rest are awesome. I personally enjoyed the parts without the naked vampires, but that's my girly side showing. The movie, for me, ended when vampire QT went away (his forehead was enormous) but the rest was still very amusing. And another note for those against Tarantino in front of the camera... how can you dislike an actor who's having so much fun? BEST LINES: Juliette: Excuse me... where are you taking us? Summary: It's A Dark Night....Dark Night!
Review: At last! All those people holding out for the Collector's Series version of From Dusk Till Dawn (originally released on laserdisc) will wait no more. It's here (September 26th) and let me tell you, the extras are impressive. Let's begin with the audio commentary with Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. These two are perfect to make a commentary together. Where Quentin delivers his dialogue with a machine gun like frenzy, Robert talks much more slowly but with still much passion for his work (I keep forgetting he's from Mexico because his English is so good). Check this out..the commentary is not scripted. These guys are doing this right at the top of their heads which is a lot of fun. You get a lot of juicy tidbits about the film and why Quentin never bothered to do an audio commentary for his movies (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction). The commentary alone is reason enough to buy this Collector's Series DVD. But then you get the Behind-The-Scenes Featurette, Hollywood Goes To Hell which details the creative process and the working relationship between Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Tarantino. Please note: this is not the documentary about the film that came out a few years ago, though it would fit nicely on this disc. You also get plenty of interviews with the cast members including George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, Cheech Marin, Salma Hayek, and Juliette Lewis. Deleted Scenes and Outtakes are also present, including a few that were cut because of all the blood and limbs all over the bar. You get the Theatrical Trailer and all the TV Spots plus two Music Videos: She's Just Killing Me performed by ZZ Top, starring George Clooney (playing Basketball) and Salma Hayek (as the vampire watching him), and After Dark performed by Tito & Tarantula which basically shows the hot scene with Salma dancing with a huge snake around her neck, feeding Quentin alcohol by dripping it down her leg into his mouth (HOT! ) Letterboxed to it's proper 1.85:1 aspect ratio with a Dolby Digital Soundtrack, From Dusk Till Dawn The Collector's Series is reason enough to own this dark movie and watch it on a dark night.
