Summary: Carl Perkins is THE Rockabilly Cat!
Review: This Bear Family DVD is one complete show of the Town Hall Party program. If you're familiar with other Town Hall Party DVD's, you know these are taken from kinescopes, and so the quality is somewhat less than the best, but still very watchable. Other than Carl Perkins and Merle Travis, I didn't know any of the other performers on this disc, although talent contest winners Lee Austin and the Last Rebels must be seen to be believed!

Carl Perkins performs the following songs:
Matchbox
Boppin' the Blues
Pointed Toe Shoes
(sound on the first three songs is muffled/distorted, probably due to a bad microphone; the sound on the next three songs is fine)
She Knows how to Rock me
Y.O.U.
Blue Suede Shoes


I gave this 3 stars because:
1) out of 25 songs on the disc, Carl Perkins only performs 6
2) the sound problems on the first 3 Perkins songs

Nevertheless, vintage video footage of Carl Perkins is hard to find, so if you're a rockabilly/Carl Perkins fan, pick this up.
