Summary: Ten Star Movie **********
Review: Without a doubt, Tombstone is one of the top 5, no top 3 western flicks out there. It didn't matter if the story was completely accurate, the characters in the movie won the awards as far as I'm concerned. Curly Bill " Shut up Ike" Ike Clatton "Law just don't go around here Kansas law dog, savvy?" Johnny Ringo "Alright lunger, lets do it" Virgil Earp " Oh Wyatt, there he goes, Morgan Earp "Goddamn Kid" Wyatt Earp "YOU TELL THEM I'M COMING, AND HELL'S COMING WITH ME!!!!!! Infamous Doc Holliday 1. If this means were not friends anymore, I just don't think I could bare it." 2. Why Ike, whatever do you mean?" 3. "You sweet soft Hungarian Devil" and many many more ***********************

Summary: The WORST movie I have ever seen in 20 years!
Review: This movie is full of stupid tricks and dumb, predictable plots. Out of all the western movies I've seen, this has to be the worst! And the acting was pretty terrible too...

Summary: Awesome!
Review: This is one of the best, if not THE best, westerns I've seen so far. I have not seen "The Magnificant Seven" or all of "Whyatt Earth" though, so I don't know how "Tombstone" would compare to them, and I'm not a good judge on acting. But I thought the gun fights and showdowns were great! A must-see for any western fan!

Summary: An action allegory on a par with The Magnificent Seven
Review: Most film buffs are aware of the important place The Magnificent Seven holds in American film making and for the WESTERN in particular. The allegorical/mythical dimensions of the film contribute to this and begin with the not-too-subtle name of the story's top gun, Chris. Tombstone begins this Dies Irae story with an outraged priest-played by Pedro Amendarez--cursing "The Cowboys" with a promise of wrath in a Day of Judgment. The scene immediately jumpcuts to Kurt Russell who in the role of Wyatt Earp gradually transforms into a Christ figure battling the forces of the Anti-christ in an allegorical armageddon. Powers Boothe, as Curley Bill Brocious, and Michael Biehn, as the viciously portrayed gunman, Johnny Ringo lead a virtual legion of violent men who wear a red sash to signify their allegiance to lawlessness. By the film's climax, this sash is The Mark of the Beast and Kurt Russell and his band of avengers have dedicated themselves to the sole purpose of exterminating the forces of evil without mercy. "I see a red sash...I kill the man wearing it!" says an outraged Russell/Marshall Earp-Jesus Christ. "Now run you cur!" (Earp says to Ike Clanton on his knees begging for mercy). "Tell the other curs the Law's coming...You tell'em I'm coming...And hell's coming with me! You hear? HELL'S COMING WITH ME!" The next scene jumps to an image of the Four Horsemen of The Apocalypse. As the logo on the film's carton/jacket proclaims: JUSTICE IS COMING! This is a powerful, provocative film. You might ponder a particular dialogue between Doc--who lays down his life for his friend, Wyatt. "What makes a man like Ringo do the kind of things he does?" "Revenge," replies the dying Holiday. "For being born..." Justice is coming! See it in action.

Summary: amazing film
Review: I thought this was one of the best movies I ever saw. This movie wasn't exactly true to the facts, but who cares! Val Kilmer was amazing as the infamous Doc Holliday. Even with his pale skin and constant coughing he was unbelieveably sexy. His southern accent didn't hurt either. The rest of the cast was great too, esp. Sam Elliot as Virgil Earp. One drawback of the film was that it made it look like it all happened in a couple of weeks when it was really about two years. Also, Josephine and Wyatt's relationship was a bit more involved throughout their time in Tombstone. But who really cares about everything they did wrong? Everything they did right made it spectacular!

Summary: Best of the West
Review: This is the best western ever created!! It even surpasses the great Clint Eastwoods '' The Good the Bad and the Ugly '' due to awsome acting. This is a star studded cast which really show off their talent. The best performance of all of the famous names would have to be Val Kilmer who wonderfully portrays the dying but deadly Doc Holliday. The plot is simple but interesting and intensity never lets your eyes leave the screen. Although the real story of Tombstone is somewhat different and less glorifying who cares!! This is a model western movie and more like it should be made. This is a must see if you have any taste for good movies.

Summary: Kilmer rates 5 stars +!
Review: I would have to agree with the majority of the respondents, that Val was incredible. I heard he starved himself for a month to actually look like a TB victim. Unfortunately for Val, he was the only believable character. He also had the best lines, "Frederick Fu__in' Chopin", "I'm your huckleberry", "You're a daisy if you do", etc. Russell is lame, and overacts his part. I think, no matter how frickin long it was, Wyatt Earp (Costner's movie) was better, with the exception of the performance of the actor playing Doc Holliday (although Dennis Quaid was pretty fair himself). This movie seemed to appeal to the younger MTV generation, who grew up with the "Gang Bangin" mentality that this movie seems to glorify! Kilmer 5 stars, the rest of the movie 2 stars!!!

Summary: beautiful and touching western movie
Review: Tombstone is the best movie ever made. It is a touching masterpiece about the corrupted ideals and hopes of the Wild West. Touching and sensitive with hard lines all around everone is superbly cast and everything is recreated in near-perfect detail.
