Summary: One of the best Rumbles ever!
Review: Royal Rumble 2000 saw the classic Street Fight match between HHH and Cactus Jack. Easily, one of the best matches for either wrestler (of course not topping any of Foley's Hell in the Cell match ups).

Also the Tag Team Table Match between Matt and Jeff, the Hardy Boyz and Bubba Ray and D-Von, the Dudley Boys. Again another classic tag team match between 2 soon to be legendary tag teams. This match would eventually become one of the reasons for the ever so dangerous, TLC match (Tables, Ladders and Chairs).

And of course one of the most controversial Royal Rumbles ever. Who went over first??? I won't tell you who the finalists were but I assure you, this is a Rumble that you didn't want to miss. Especially when Japanese high flyer Taka Michinoku hits his face on the ground and Jerry the King Lawler plays it over and over again. It's pretty funny.

Also, this was Tazz's first WWF(E) appearance as he takes on Kurt Angle. And let's not forget the 3-way match for Intercontinental gold betweem Chyna, Chris Jericho and Hardcore Holly. If there was one yearly pay per view that stood out (besides Wrestlemania), it's gotta be the Royal Rumble.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great One
Review: I love this pay per view. The street fight is brutal and the table match is awesome. The rumble itself is very entertaining. The only serious letdown is the miss swimsuit rumble, fast foward this or skip it, if you want to see a 70 years old woman in provocative clothe and then take her shirt off and reveal her soggy boob (vomit), then help yourself.

Summary: The Rock reigns supreme...
Review: Match 1 - Debut of Tazz:
Tazz v Kurt Angle
Tazz hit lots of strange suplexes on Kurt Angle and then eventually choked him out for the victory. Angle then had to be taken out on a stretcher. RATING - 6/10

Match 2 - Tag Team Table Match:
Dudley Boyz v Hardy Boyz
After laying Bubba Ray out on a table on the outside, Jeff climbed the top rope and Matt climbed a ladder and both Hardyz jumped off and splashed Bubba through the table at the same time. The next person to go through a table was Matt, as he was power-bombed off the top rope through one. The final table spot was when Jeff Hardy launched himself off the balcony and gave D-Von a Swanton Bomb, giving him and Matt the win! RATING - 8/10

Match 3 - Swimsuit Contest:
Terri v The Kat v Luna v BB v Ivory v Jackie v Mae Young
Mae Young won the match after the judges decided her as the winner. RATING - 0/10

Match 4 - Triple-Threat Intercontinental Title Match:
Chris Jericho v Chyna v Hardcore Holly
Chyna wanted to finish off Hardcore Holly with Y2J's Walls of Jericho, but Jericho came back and hit a Lionsault on Chyna for the victory. RATING - 6/10

Match 5 - Tag Team Championship Match:
Acolytes v Road Dogg & Billy Gunn
X-Pac tried to interfere but he was quickly spine-bustered by Faarooq, and then Billy Gunn hit a Fame-Asser on Bradshaw for the 1-2-3. RATING - 4/10

Match 5 - Street Fight for the WWF Championship:
Cactus Jack v Triple H
This match turned out to be very brutal. Weapons such as ring bells, steel chairs, steel steps, thumbtacks, trash cans and barbed-wire sticks were all used by Cactus and HHH. After giving a Pedigree to Cactus Jack, Cactus kicked out! A frustrated Triple H then gave him another Pedigree onto a huge bed of thumbtacks, and this time he got the 1-2-3. After the match, Cactus attacked Triple H and nailed him with the barbed-wire stick in the face. RATING - 10/10

30-Man Royal Rumble Match:
The final four were Kane, X-Pac, Rock and Big Show. X-Pac knocked Kane over the top rope with a spinning heel kick, and Big Show took X-Pac over the top rope with a Gorilla Press. After given the Big Show a People's Elbow, Rock attempted to throw the 500 pound monster over the top, but was quickly chokeslammed to hell. Big Show then wanted to finish off the Rock with a slam over the top, but Rock countered and pulled the rope, forcing the Big Show to tumble over the top to the floor! After the match, Paul Wight returned and attacked the Rock.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Summary: One of the best RUMBLE'S ever!!!
Review: The Royal Rumble is the best WWE pay-par-view event of the year. this one from 2000 is one of the best ones. Not just for the Rumble match, the 1st ever tag-team tables match with the Hardy's and Dudleys, Tazz first apperance (look at his pop, why they didnt push him is beyond me...), the bikini contest w/ Mae Young, and the street fight w/ HHH & Cactus Jack. The Rumble match is classic, highlighted by Rikishi & Too Cool, Kaentei and the Mean Street Posse. The DVD is great cause it also features highlighs from Royal Rumbles 1998 & 1999!!! Plus backstage footage of HHH out of character after his match is worth th price alone. The WWE has put out some lame DVD's, but they hit the mark with this one. I definitaly recomend it.

Summary: WWF'S BEST R. RUMBLE PPV EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: If you like hardcore wrestling featuring tables, chairs, ladders, barbed wire, and thumbtacks and lots of bloody action, then this is just the tape for you! Don't rent this tape because you will not want to take it back! Instead, BUY IT!!! BUY IT AND MAKE IT YOUR OWN!!! You'll see a wild bikini contest, a violent "tag team table match" between The Hardy Boys and The Dudley Boyz, and also, you'll see Triple H take on Cactus Jack for the WWF Championship. Cactus Jack hits HHH in the face with a 2 by 4 wrapped in barbed wire, and as a result, HHH gets really busted open! Jack even plays with thumbtacks!!! This should have been the main event for Wrestlemania of 2000. Buy this video, fans!!! IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Summary: the first ppv i saw
Review: to start this review off i would like to say i never had this video but i was actuall y there at one of the greatest royal rumbles of all time watching that spicy swimsuit competetion and the intensity of the the first ever table match to the ... winning tactics of the new age outlaws and the brutal streetfight and of course the royal rumble with the rock big show and rikishi oh that was great the only problem was it was to short but aside from that it was a great night.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A benchmark achievement in making great pay per views
Review: Just a note in the opening, the MSG setup is awesome for this show, the entranceway definitely gives the impression that the show is centered around the street fight, looks a lot lower budget than most WWF pay per view set ups, and isn't monstrous so it doesn't block off a ton of seats and severely hurting the gate for a big event. The WWF should take note of this and kill the huge set ups, it's all about the wrestling folks.

Tazz d. Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle was on an undefeated hot streak and made an open challenge, vignettes for a new character were being shown on TV and this led to the WWF debut of Tazz. Short match but very entertaining for what it was, i shudder to think of some of the stiff crazy suplexes these guys could've pulled off given 15 or 20 minutes.

3 stars/5

The Hardy Boyz d. The Dudley Boyz in a table match

I apologize for use of the "z"s, i'm just making a point about how you don't need to use odd letters in your team name to get over. Really cool match with lots of innovative high spots as opposed to the same overused ladder spots that we'll see 500 times over the next two years. The ending of this thing is phenomenal and gave me so much hope for future table matches. However, this is the only great table match ever, and this is how you do a gimmick match. Definitely worth your time.

5 stars/5

I'm going to not talk about the horror that is the Miss Rumble pageant since it is irrelevant here, you can skip over it on the DVD so it doesn't matter. If you absolutely need your eye candy the cue is there for you to fast forward the chapter. They should've canned this (stuff) and given Tazz vs. Angle another 10 minutes.

WWF Intercontinental Title Match

Chris Jericho (c) d. Chyna (c) and Hardcore Holly

They had this odd angle where Chyna and Chris Jericho held the intercontinental title at the same time. Don't ask me to explain it because i don't even remember it. This match is entertaining enough given the fact that Jericho can carry anybody. But i can't in good conscience give it more than

WWF Tag Team Championship
New Age Outlaws d. The Acolytes

I don't rememeber who was champion here. This was like 2 minutes so it's painless and i'll be very very nice to it and give it

2 stars/5

WWF World Heavyweight Championship
Triple H (c) d. Cactus Jack in a street fight

This is one of the most brutal WWF matches you'll ever see, and for a very odd change of pace here, Foley bumps the living hell out of Triple H, Foley does take some huge bumps here too including back drops onto thumbtacks and a broken nose, but Triple H looks much worse for wear. Absolutely brutal match like you would see in the NWA in the 80s, i have yet to hear Triple H's commentary on his DVD about the match, but i'm very disappointed that they didn't do him and Foley talking about the match at the same time on there. Triple H wins with the pedigree (but at what cost) and he is a bloody mess. Triple H EARNS his spot as main eventer here, which was well deserved until 2002 when he turned apathetic and started getting literally handed belts in silver briefcases.

5 stars/5
This is a MUST SEE match. Get it in some capacity, just have it and watch it a billion times.

WWF Royal Rumble

The Rock won it with the central story here being around The Rock and The Big Show. They were eliminated around the same time, but Big Show's feet touched first. This would trigger an angle that would last up till Wrestlemania. The rumble here is pretty interesting and the crowd is on fire, you won't believe how ungodly over Rikishi is here.

4 stars/5

All in all I can look past one lazy match and one huge huge blotch on a wonderful show, because it is just that, a wonderful show. The WWF was the best it has ever been in it's entire run EVER in 2000. If you want a good pay per view, just pick out almost any show between this and Wrestlemania X-7 and you will have yourself 3 hours of fun. Any wrestling fan would be remiss not to buy this.

Extras-The extras on this are sweet as they completely outline all the buildup from before this rumble all the way to Wrestlemania. There's one really gross extra here with Triple H's leg getting stitched up with him in extreme pain after he got suplexed with his leg landing on a wooden palatte. There are large chunks of the 98 and 99 Royal Rumble matches here, and honestly what's included here is all of those matches that you'll need to see. The interviews are good and the extras are as good as you'll get on any DVD including movies, especially in 2000.
