Summary: Boring
Review: Well I see 2003 is already becoming another "great year" in the WWE. Backlash sucked on so many levels it was not funny. The big 6 man tag match was god-awful...with a surprise ending...Triple H wins!!! (gee, what a shock huh?.) Is anyone else SICK to death of seeing this over-hyped chump all the time? The crowd was completely DEAD during this entire match. The only 2 involved in this match who have a legitimate future are Jericho and Booker T. The rest just need to go away. Overall, Backlash was a very poor ppv with nothing really sticking out to save this show.

Interesting match. Starts out hot, gets boring, and ends with a bang too. Portrait of Kurt Angle is very funny.
Rikishi vs. Sean O'Haire w/ Rowdy Roddy Piper
Ok match. Piper and Rikishi settle an old score. They tried to push O'Haire but his charisma was seriously lacking.
World Tag Team Championship
Rob Van Dam & Kane vs. Dudley Boyz w/Chief Morley as special ref
Maybe match of the night. Unpredictable action and people turning on people at the drop of a hat. Good action.
Rey Mysterio vs. Big Show
There was only so much that they could do. They almost pull off a pretty good match. It's after the match that has to be seen to be believed.
Women's Championship
Trish Stratus vs. Jazz
Yawn...garbage.
WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena
Imagine if this match happened now! It's nice that the wwe gave Cena a chance early. The match is pretty decent and Cena holds his own but the outcome was very predictable. Start of a good year for Cena.
Six Man Tag Team Match
Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels, & Booker T vs. Triple H, Chris Jericho, & Ric Flair
Bizarre choice for a ppv match. They could've made a regular tag match and one singles match. It's good but a little underwhelming.
The Rock vs. Goldberg
The one we all waited for. Again, a bit underwhelming but The Rock is the greatest entertainer. They kept using too many finishers too soon. Doesn't exceed the hype but it's watchable.

I am not a big fan of Smackdown! I like Raw better and you will see why when I rate the World Tag Title Match. This was a good opener. Rikishi vs. Sean O' Haire w/Roddy Piper 6/10
Great to see Roddy Piper on the PPV. He was funny with the coconuts. The match was good but not great. World Tag Title Match
Kane & RVD vs. Dudley Boyz ref: Chief Morley 10/10
This match is why this DVD gets five stars. This match was so unpredictable. Everybody was turning on everybody except for Kane & RVD which is why they won and how the match was pulled together. Women's Title
Jazz vs. Trish 5/10
This match was ok. I'll just say it was short sweet and to the point. Big Show vs. Rey Mysterio 8/10
Some people say this match was bad. In my view this was SmackDown's best match. They put on a very good match. WWE Title
Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena 7.5/10
It was great but not the best match in the world. Cena was the best in this match he wrestled better than Brock in this match. I liked Cena vs. Angle at No Mercy better. HHH, Y2J, & Ric Flair vs. Kevin Nash, HBK, & Booker T 8/10
This was a good match. HHH was the best in this match. I don't like HHH but he was good in this match. The Rock vs. Goldberg 8.5/10
The Rock was great in this match he carried the whole match in my view. The Rock should get all the credit in the world for this match. Get this DVD for the World Tag Title match and for Rock vs. Goldberg.
