Summary: How about a real fans opinion?
Review: Wow! The WWF manages to put out another lack-luster event with absolutely no hype going into it!

Intercontinental Championship: RVD vs. William Regal * *
Not the greatest match, but its a good way to start out a WrestleMania.

European Championship: DDP vs. Christian *
Why Vince, Why?

Hardcore Championship: Maven vs. Goldust *
Whats going on in your head Vince? You don't put a rookie on your biggest show of the year. Let alone a tough enough rookie.

Kurt Angle vs. Kane * *
Not a bad match, but it is a let down when you see the worlds worst botched ending!

No Disqualification: Undertaker vs. Ric Flair * * * * *
No doubt, the best match of the night. I had no idea that a man as old as Flair could take bumps like that and still get up!

Edge vs. Booker T *
Why Vince, why?

Scott Hall vs. Stone Cold * *
Is it just me, or can Scott Hall sell the worst stunner in the world?

Dudleys vs. Hardys vs. APA vs. Billy & Chuck * *
Suprisinly a good match. The Dudleys are awesome, the Hardys are awesome, the APA is slow, Billy & Chuck are funny!

Icon vs. Icon: Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock * * * *
Hands down the most entertaining match of the night. It definitely did not deserve as much hype as it got. It was really funny that the Canadians chanted "Rocky Sucks" pretty much through the whole match!

Womens Championship: Trish vs. Jazz vs. Lita *
Just another Womens title match with some unique spots, but thats about it. I'm tired of Jazz and Trish!!

Undisputed Championship: Triple H vs. Chris Jericho * *
Truly one of the biggest let-downs in WrestleMania main-event history. There was absolutely no hype going into it, so the fans weren't into it. Triple H winning wasn't that suprising or spectacular. Whatever happened to the days when a heel wins the WrestleMania main event?

A really bad pay-per-view, which originally had 1 star, but the special features notched it up a star. But I wouldn't waste my money on this again! They let me down, their bound to let you down!

7. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Scott Hall, a stunner for the ages! Plus Nash beats the [stuff] out of 3 refs! 5/5
8. 4 way tag title match, this match [stinks]! 2/5
9. The Rock vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan, this match rules! The tension was amazing and the fans actually booed the rock! Hogan actually has a good match! 5/5
10. Womens title match, Jazz vs. Lita vs. Trish Stratus, decent match with a couple of high spots. 3/5
11. Undisputed title match, Triple H vs. Chris Jericho, very good! 5/5

Summary: The Battle of the Ages
Review: It has been a very long time since the whole crowd in attendance has been involved in a match from beginning to end. The match between 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan and the Rock is worth the price of this dvd/video. I have been a fan of Hogan's since I was a child. Now, seeing him back in the WWE and headlining the biggest pay-per-view of them all..it's a blessing. The crowd was divided, but, I believe about 75% were for Hogan; can you blame them? I marked out when during this match, Hogan would do his flexing and posing. The crowd exploded after every move Hogan performed. From pushing the Rock down from a collar and elbow tie up, to a punch, the scratching of the back, and even the chokeslam take down! Hulk Hogan is the biggest star the world of professional wrestling ever, and Wrestlemania X8 proves this. The match alone was not the best technical match up, but, it was very exciting. I have watched this match many times and I'm still not bored and/or tired of it. I will never be. This is by far the biggest match in sports entertainment/WRESTLING HISTORY!!

The rest of the card was entertaining as well. some matches were shorter than expected, but, kept me entertained. Other than the Hogan/Rock match, the others that stole my attention were the matches between Booker T and Edge, the Hardcore Title escapade, and the Tag Team Championship match..I'm sorry, I'm a fan of Billy and Chuck. The Billy and Chuck team is just too funny to not enjoy. Their music alone is worth a laugh or two. But, again, this is my opinion. I'm sure some would recommend the Undertaker/Ric Flair, Austin/Hall, and the Kane/Angle matches; but, these matches didn't stand out as much as they should have. The Hogan/Rock match stole the show and I am still debating to this day that their match should have been the main-event. In all honesty, that match didn't do the main event (HHH/Jericho) any justice as they took all the steam out of the fans.

So, again, this DVD/Video is highly recommended. I pretty much have all the WWF dvd's and this is one of the top 3 that I have. If you are going to get it, you won't regret it. Enjoy....

Summary: It'll be interesting to see how it comes out...
Review: OK, I'm going to be honest. I've not seen this DVD, nor did I watch WrestleMania X8 on TV. But there's a good reason.

It's because I was there.

Honestly, there is no media available than can encapsulate the feeling that I had as The Rock and Hollywood Hulk Hogan stood fact to face in front of 68,000 fans. Predictably, the match wasn't the classic that some are claiming that it was, but the emotion and crowd involvement put it in the same league as Undertaker/Mankind at King Of The Ring 1998 - great spectacle, average wrestling.

Unfortunately, nothing could match that on the night. Triple H vs. Chris Jericho was something of a letdown, as Stephanie McMahon made sure that she was the centre of attention, making the true stars play second fiddle to her shimmery blue catsuit and lack of suitable underwear.

Edge, Christian and Trish Stratus' Toronto homecomings were slightly disappointing, though in Trish's case, this could be to do with the fact that she was utterly dire in the ring, leaving Jazz to clean up the mess that her and Lita made. Edge vs. Booker T was let down by the storyline that preceded it. A match at WrestleMania over a shampoo commercial? Please.

Best bump of the night has to be Mighty Molly Holly, who sold the impact of a door so convincingly that we all thought she had actually hit it.

Also, keep an eye of Drowning Pool's rendition of Tear Away, which fell horribly flat due to the poor justaposition of the song in the event, meaning that all the fans were sitting...waiting for the next match. The resounding scream of "WrestleMania baby!!!" - or whatever it was he said - was met with an indifferent, uncomfortable silence. Maybe they'll dub some cheers over the top of it, just so Drowning Pool can save face.

Still, it was an excellent WrestleMania, not the best of all time, but the nostalgia of Hulk Hogan at a WM was worth the one hundred and forty quid it cost for a floor seat. Hopefully the DVD will cover Axxess aswell, as that was equally awesome.

I didn't get to slap the snot out of Michael Cole though, that's why I'm going back next year.

Summary: The Greatest Show On Earth
Review: Of course it's five stars, it's Wrestlemania. By the way, the opening for this PPV was way neat.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: William Regal vs. Rob Van Dam - Great opening match. Some nice spots, and it was good seeing RVD walk out Intercontinental champion. 9/10

WWF European Championship: Diamond Dallas Page - Another great match. DDP deserves more than the European title, but good to see him finally compete at Wrestlemania. 9/10

Multiple Hardcore Title Matches: The Hardcore Title has lost all credibility. 2/10

Kurt Angle vs. Kane: Good match. Nothing special. 7/10

Undertaker vs. Ric Flair: Awesome match by two legends. Second best match of the night. 10/10

Booker T vs. Edge: Good match. Not very much heat from the crowd. Suprised but very glad to see Edge get the win in front of his home crowd. 7/10

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Scott Hall: More of a handicapped match with Kevin Nash. Good match. Lots of stunners. 8/10

WWF Tag Team Championships - Billy & Chuck vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Hardy Boyz vs. APA (Four corner tag team elimination match): Good and entertaining. I picked the APA, they were the first eliminated. Good push for Billy & Chuck. 7/10

The Rock vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan: Best match of the night. The hype for this match lived up to its word. 10/10

WWF Women's Championship - Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Lita - Good match. One of the better women's PPV matches in a while. Wish either Trish or Lita walked out with the title, though. 6/10

WWF Undisputed Championship - Chris Jericho vs. HHH: Good match, but it should've been great. It was basically HHH vs. Stephanie, which was unfair to Y2J. It would've been a better ending if HHH and Stephanie stayed together and screwed Jericho, but, oh well. Still a good match, though, just not living up to expectations. 8/10
