Rating: Summary: Holds your interest at first, but fades quickly Review: OK, this is Andy's dad writing this review. Dad got this, I mean Santa got this for Andy, a 10-year-old Skater dude. He watched it a few times and raved about how great Tony Hawk was, then the DVD got set aside and he hasn't watched it since. I saw some of it and it was informative and entertaining, but this is definitely something I'd recommend that you borrow from a friend who has it, or check it out if it's at your local library. Unlike great movies on DVD, this will get a few watches and then sit gathering dust...
Rating: Summary: Tony Hawk's Trick Tips Review: The best video I've seen. It teaches you how to do many tricks in great detail, also in goofy and regular footing. It's aimes at beginning skaters, but more advanced ones could use it too. It teaches you how to set up your board, how to push, turn, and do tricks like the ollie, the 180 ollie, a pop shuvit, kickflips, and heelflips. He teaches you about ramps--pumping, kickturning, dropping in, and a rock and roll fakie. He teaches you rail tricks and ledge tricks like the lipslide, frontside boardslide, 5-0 grind and many more. I would recommend this site to all skaters.
Rating: Summary: Covers the basics and still entertaining. Review: This DVD is great because it has some good skating, even if some of it is pretty basic. Tony Hawk, Kris Markovich and Brian Sumner do a great job of breaking down the fundamentals of skating, as well as showing how to do some basic street tricks such as ollies, boardslides, 5-O grinds and 50-50's. They also do some mini-ramp skating, showing the how-to for kickturns on transitions and rock-to-fakie. They also show the proper way to set up your board. With the current lack of skate videos on DVD, this one is entertaining, as well as being funny. For more tech skating, "The Storm" from Osiris might be better, but Tony Hawk's Trick Tips is fun to watch for skaters of any skill level, and would be a great introduction for someone just getting started in skateboarding.

Rating: Summary: very good Review: This is a great video. When I got this video I could do it all easily. Even a double kickflip. But this video will raise the self-esteem of a beginner after they had watched it. If you are looking for a video on how to learn the basics(kickflip, ollie, heelflip, boardslide, shuv it, 180 ollie)this is the video for you.
Rating: Summary: VERY GOOD Review: This is a very good skate video. When I got it I already knew how to do most tricks it shows except the Kickflip, which it then tought me to do. If you are looking into becoming more experienced quickly, this video will help.
Rating: Summary: Learning From the Best and Greatest. Review: This is an excellent instruction DVD for beginners with no skating experience, thru intermediate skaters who want to move on to advanced techniques. Although Tony Hawk makes every trick look easier than walking and chewing gum at the same time, his instructions are thorough and understandable. This DVD will make you get off your couch and become a better skater. If you know someone who has a skateboard lying around the house, who used to use it years ago, get them this DVD - they'll be back on their boards having more fun than they ever had on it before.
