Summary: Overall, a Solid Value
Review: We are very pleased with this compact stereo system. It is very easy to set up and has a very clean, crisp sound. Some of the pluses are:
- ...you get an extra 20 watts per channel [more than Awia's NSX-AJ300], which come in handy because the overall 160W output of this system (160 W)is just right for us but not overpowering. We wouldn't want it to be any less.
- The power saving mode which shuts the unit off after 10 minutes of inactivity comes in handy, especially if you have kids.
- The size of the unit makes it very easy to fit it wherever you want it to. We were pleasantly surprised that a system with so many features could be so compact.
- The ability to play CD-R/RW, CD's made on a PC or CD burner.
- The ability to dub one tape onto another.

The only main downsides had to do with more optional features we would like, not the basic sound quality or functioning of the equipment. These are:
- No ability to program your own order of CD tracks on playback. This is more dissapointing because they use the same manual for this system and the AJ503, so the manual makes it seem as if this unit has programmable tracks, but it doesn't.
- No random playback of the CD tracks. Once again, reading the manual, it gives the impression that this unit has random playback. It doesn't.

Other than those two points, the only systems that seemed in the ballpark with this one were some Phillips and JVC models that were higher priced. For the money, this is a good mid-level compact system with a lot of features and great clean sound quality.
