Rating: Summary: Far superior to Sony Review: I just returned a Sony minisystem to exchange it for this Panasonic. Mine is not, as the one shown here, black and red, but silver and (sadly) blue--and it certainly packs a functional punch and seems more sturdy than the Sony. The preset "Live" equalizer does a great job at highlighting vocals, which is very important if you listen to opera and the "Hall" setting if you listen to classical orchestra music etc. The dual tapedeck with auto reverse is a requirement too few microsystems meet these days. The drawbacks so far: Even if the ugliness of the black and red system is somewhat toned down in the silver and blue, which is more appropriate for anyone who has evolved past teenagedom, the silver edition isn't what you'd call sleek and pretty. I decided to put function before style and find speaker covers or make some (to hide the terrible blue). That's where the Sony was much more appealing. And that's where Panasonic is losing out on the $$$ executive market. I'd also love to have a microphone jack to be able to record onto cassette, but suspect that that might be possible with the aux input.

Rating: Summary: Great for those who dont wanna spend .... Review: I recently got this at Costco, and it's perfect for a room of my size. the frequency is awesmoe and the equalizer gives it more feeling. I can listen to it all day, and the 5 CD changer isnt too confusing or hard to figure out. Great if you're looking for a great stereo, not too much, but not totally tricked out.
