Summary: This movie helps to reveal the true Steve Prefontaine
Review: Some have said that Steve Prefontaine is cocky and self centered. Unfortunately even more people believe this. It is not wrong to believe in ourselves. The biography "PRE", told the story; but the movie Without Limits made that story come to life. Steve Prefontaine is a runner who demands our admiration, because of his awesome accomplishments. By the end of the movie everyone is able to believe. Believe in the man, and the runner, Steve Prefontaine. Believe in themselves. Believe that when someone gives everything they have to something, including their heart, anything is possible.

Summary: INSPIRATIONAL
Review: I have watched this movie countless times but it is THE single most inspirational movies I have seen. Since I was born in '86 I never knew him personally but I knew who he was before I was 10.

Summary: An inspirational film for the dreamer.
Review: An amazing review of the life and death of Steve Prefontaine, the greatest distance runner of all time. The film and legend of PRE helped me to go out and reach for my dream and take all the pain that comes with it. The movie helps me to understand Pre and get to know him as a runner. I feel this should be seen by everyone who hopes to accomplish their wishes.

Summary: One of the best movies I've ever seen!
Review: This movie is great, even if you are not a runner. It is not just a movie about running, but about reaching your goals and believing in yourself. I don't know why this movie wasn't shown in more theatres. It is very inspirational. At times it made me laugh and at other times I got teary-eyed. Definitely see this movie!

Summary: One of the best sports movies of all time
Review: This movie does a great job showing one of America's best athletes of all time. Better advertising would have helped this movie to big one of the bigger pictures of the year. It is worth re-releasing during the Olympic games. If you own A DVD player you are treated to a great picture and bolth the wide screen and pan and scan versions of the movie. This movie does a great job useing 5.1 channel audio as well.

Summary: Why can't hollywood capture the true nature of sport?
Review: While "Without Limits" was far better than the previous "Prefontaine" and one of the better running movies to date, it came up short of capturing why we run and compete. What makes us run, what do you think about when you train, what gets you up in the morning to put in countless miles and countless repeats? Why now as a former athlete I need to get out and do miles after long days at work. Running, and I believe most sports from high level high school and up, encompasses what we are. I understand the need for conflict and love interests, but why can't a Hollywood Movie capture the motivation of athletes. "PRE" the book, I understand on which the movie is based, was wonderful. Personal struggle, pushing ourselves beyond our percieved limits on a frequent basis in workouts. And if all goes, according to plan then just slamming a race. Is it impossible to capture that? Is it that uninteresting to the non-runner? "Chariots of Fire"-- "When I run I feel His pleasure". Who could forget those lines, or that whole sermon.

I guess I just expected Prefontaine's spirit to will a great distance running movie.

One other thing which makes this movie very difficult to watch is the fact that from time to time certain scenes will show the runners well into a 5,000 or whatever, and running with there mouths closed. Who was the technical adviser on this film? I couldn't get into it like I'd hoped. I kept seeing actors. But it is still a movie about Prefontaine and I will watch it and overlook the flaws. And think about the beautiful way Prefontaine raced. I did not know him but I feel like I miss him. This movie does capture enough of him for me. So thanks for trying. Twice.

Summary: THE MOST INSPIRATIONAL AND WELL DONE BIOGRAPHY EVER.
Review: This movie has the potiential of being the inspiration to many of our great runners. The inspiration to every young person that believes that him or her can't run with the best or run at all. This movie shows the reality of running. This movie was very accurate in the times and quotes. Thank you for a breath of fresh air.
