Rating: Summary: A good movie I'd enjoyed it! Review: Cool Runnings is one of my favorite John Candy films of all time. Because he has a lot of heart and emotion for the audence to this actual based on a true story event theme. And his chemestry with the actors are funny and good dialouge punchlines for every entire family to enjoy here!
Rating: Summary: Great Disney fare Review: Disney shows why it is the top movie company for producing great family entertinment with this movie about four Jamaican men, who, when three of them are deprived of the opportunity to compete at the 1988 Summer Olympics, decide to field a bobsledding team for the 1988 Winter Olympics. This idea is laughable to everyone but them as they strive to be taken seriously, however, through sheer perseverance they gain the respect of their coach, their families, their countrymen, and their fellow Olympians, proving to themselves and everyone else around them that you are still a winner even if you don't finish first.
Rating: Summary: A Great Jamaican Movie! Review: Even know my religion isn't jamaican, this is a great movie, why I didn't know this was a Disney Movie. I give it 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: These Four Actors Captured Jamaican Aspect Perfectly.. Review: Even though the late John Candy was the biggest name in the movie, I thought it was the right thing to do to put the names of the three stars first in the credits. Leon (Darise Bannock) had a small supporting role in 'Cliffhanger' that same year, but gives the performance of his career in this movie. Malik Yoba and standup comic Doug E. Doug also took center stage in a movie that could've failed if Jamaica and Jamaican youth was stereotyped or presented unaccurately...But 'Cool Runnings' casted four great young start-up actors with perfect accents to represent the true story of this inspiring Olympic saga. This movie was an instant classic when it first came out, I think the first Jamaican bobsled team is probably proud of this representation of the story...of course, there were probably a few things in the movie that were only put in for effect..and Im sure the director left out any ugly parts that may have darkened the bright feel of the story..and for all we know what's in the movie may only be 90 or 95% of what actually happened. But with such a great movie to own on DVD...Do we really even need to know? This story would suit me just fine even if the four determined Jamaicans had'nt changed the winter Olympics forever over a decade ago.
Rating: Summary: Hillarious and Inspirational Review: Everytime I watch Cool Runnings, I still feel the magic and excitement of the first time I watched it. This movie is exceptional. Everything about it works. The acting is powerful, the story is both exciting and moving, the comedy is fresh and enjoyable, and the soundtrack is perfectly suited to support the mood of the movie. Cool Runnings is a perfect family film. People of all ages will be drawn to it and enjoy cheering for the Jamaican Bobsled team. There is some mild use of profanity, but it can be overlooked in favor of the moving story, and the morals that children will pick up along with it. Cool Runnings shows the value of pride, tolerance, and persistance. Throughout the course of the movie we see the team prove to the world through their persistance that they are just as good as any other team, regardless of where they come from. They learn to become a team, learn to take pride in their culture, and do a lot of self discovery. This movie is one of the few that is sure to touch you and to uplift your spirit.

Rating: Summary: Awesome. Great story! Review: I absolutely loved this film. It made me cry, laugh, and feel pride for a team that worked so hard and were the real winners, even if they didn't finish the race. A true inspiration.
Rating: Summary: Cool Runnings is better than cool Review: I always wanted to see "Cool Runnings" since I first saw the previews on tv. I finally got to see it after a few years while I was in Texas with my family and it was even better than I thought it was gonna be. Since John Candy is in it, I thought it was gonna be just another great comedy. But I was wrong, parts of it are funny, but it's more of a great drama movie. Three Jamaicans who are dying to get to the '88 Olympics run track and are on their way to the Olympics for sure until all three of them trip. They decide to start a new trend in Jamaican history by trying to become the first Jamaican bobsled team to get to the Olympics. But on their way, they find out that all the runnings aren't cool. The other teams such as East Germany laugh at them because they don't have a top notch bobsled and because they don't think they belong in the Olympics. John Candy is a 2-time Gold winner of the Olympic bobsled team of about twenty years ago and he must coach the crew of four Olympic hopefuls in order for them to have a chance to qualify for the '88 Olympics. "Cool Runnings" is a great story that is based on real facts of the '88 Olympic Jamaican team. This is one movie I recommend everybody to watch any day of the year.
Rating: Summary: Inspirational Movie Review: I believe that any child participating in sports or any other activity should watch this movie with their parents. And when the movie ends, the parents should explain the meaning of "it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game." I think that we as a society have forgotten how important that statement truly is.
