Summary: I love this movie!
Review: This is another all time favorite. Daniel is an inspriation in this movie. He goes from living in a new place, being the underdog to being "The Karate Kid"
I like how he doesn't give up and keeps fighting to get to his goal. He learns the art of Karate by his wise and caring teacher.
He not only wins the fighting match, but he wins the girl too!
This movie will always hold a special place in my memories.

Summary: Show me wax on, wax off...
Review: An absolute classic. Miyagi is the closest a human being has ever come to becoming Yoda. Delightfully cheesy totally 80s soundtrack to boot- anthems like "You're the Best Around" will have you singing in the shower for weeks. If you've been hiding in a cave since the 80s and have never seen this, and are not looking for anything too heady, you will not be disappointed.

I admit without shame that it is quite possibly my favorite movie of all.

Review: When I watched KK for the first time ,it was'nt like other kung-fu movie's my friends and I use to watch on Saturday afternoon's .This movie showed what martial-artist probably experienced before becoming Bruce Lee's and Van Damme's . After not have seen the movie since my younger days , it brought back the memories of how my friends and I would play kung-fu and one of us would use that infamous kick stance that never was effective . Anyways, this movie struck the days of innocents for me and reminded me of patience and it's virtues. Definitely an must-have to add to your karate flick collection !

Summary: Mr. Miyagi is very spiritual leader and a Saint!
Review: The Karate Kid is a metaphor for life. What would the youth of America be today if this series was not in existence. Personally, this movie changed my life forever. I was 10 the first time I came across this movie. I was sitting at my father's feet eating chips when Daniel was at the Halloween party in that awesome shower costume (I've dressed up in that same costume every year since to keep the spirit of the Karate Kid alive, I'm 33 now). Anyway, when Johnny and the rest of the Kobra Kai surround and start to attack Daniel, this is where my life was forever changed. Miyagi flies down from the fence with swan like grace and defeats the foes with gusto and fervor, without breaking a sweat. I turned in excitement towards my father to notice that he had tied his old, worn leather belt around his head. Before I had a chance to ask what he was doing he kicked me in the face and sent me flying into the television set, knocking the antenna to the floor. Groggy, I sttod up not knowing what happened. I look up to see him balancing himself on the arm of the couch and then drop kicking me in the heart, breaking a young rib. Doubled over with pain, he realized that I was in need of something. He picked me up by the hair, brought me an inch from his face and screamed, "First you suffer, then you suffer some more." I look away, ashamed at this display. He grabs my face and wrenches it towards him saying: "Do you have a problem with that Mr. Lawrence?" Before I respond he then hit me with a spin punch in my left temple, knocking me out for the next 2 and a half hours. When I finally awoke, I had learned from my mother, whom I later referred to only as Mrs. Laruso, or Mrs. L, that my father had gone on a quest to China to become a defender of freedom and virtue. He was never heard from again. The Karate Kid taught me discipline and defense. Thanks Daniel, Miyagi, Mrs. Laruso, Allison, Johnny and most of all Sensei John Creese!

Summary: Plenty of Drama, Romance, and.... Karate!!!
Review: "The Karate Kid" stars Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusso, the new kid in California who just moved with his mother from New Jersey. But problems immediately arise when Daniel has his eye on Ali (Elizabeth Shue) and they start hanging out. And that's not the problem exactly, it's that Ali's old boyfriend, Johnny (William Zabka) gets jealous and with his band of his karate friends from the Cobra Kai Dojo, beat up and pick on Daniel. Daniel wants very badly to have revenge on the Cobra Kai gang and is obsessed on learning karate. With the help of a handyman, Miyage-san (Pat Morita), who is not what he seems, learns karate so he can enter the All-Valley Karate Championship Tournament. Throughout his training, Daniel not only learns how to do karate, he learns that you learn karate not to fight, but to stop fighting.

A truly touching and heart-warming tale!! I've always been fascinated by karate and since my father learned karate when he was young, he has taught me a few things. I rented this video and couldn't tear myself away from the TV set. The acting is good with Ralph Macchio as 'the karate kid' who learns a few things from a wonderful teacher, Pat Morita. Elizabeth Shue is also great as the girlfriend and William Zabka makes a wonderful and believable villain. The movie has plenty of principles which are important: to have patience, fighting does not solve any problems, trust in your mentors, and more.

This is a definite must-see for teenagers and adults. Don't miss out on "The Karate Kid"! I can't wait to get this DVD and watch it again!

Summary: Ever Notice the Ref's Shoes??
Review: During the last part of the movie at the All Valley Karate Tournament, have you ever looked at the referees shoes. Gotta carefully look at all of them. You'll be surprised!!

This is such a great movie!! Whoever says that it follows the same storyline as Rocky... well not really! The only similar event would be the big showdown at the end. Besides that... most of the movies are way different.

I always get goosbumps when lil' Daniel beats Ali in a game of Hockey. You can see the pure look of joy when he scores the goal!!

Das my boy!!!!

Summary: What's the point?
Review: First major disappointment (my fault, I bought it as a gift for my husband, and should have read more carefully) is that it is panned and scanned. Second major disappointment is that there are NO special features at all (I know, we're getting spoiled). Audio selection is also limited. I might has well have purchased the video.
