Rating: Summary: What to expect... Review: Fair Warning: Please pay no heed to the number of stars I've given this; my intent is to let'cha know what you can expect to get with this DVD, not praise or condemn the product. BTW I will take this review down and replace it with a proper one (with corresponding star rating) as soon as I give the DVD a full viewing.
And away we go...
Seeing as how Amazon is kinda loath to give any significant details about what'll be on this DVD, I figure it's up to me to give ya the lowdown. Please note that I base my suppositions of what this platter will contain on the two previous Super Bowl champs season highlights DVDs (the 2002 Bucs and 2003 Patriots). I figure NFL Films will follow the same format for this release, which means it will include (but don't hold me to it):
- An hour-long, game-by-game highlight reel of the New England Patriots' 2004 season & 2005 postseason, from opening day right on down to the post-Super Bowl celebration over the Philadelphia Eagles. Most likely it'll be narrated by Harry Kalas, the most notable voice of NFL Films (behind the late, great John Facenda of course0.
- The "world broadcast" of the entire Super Bowl, minus the huddles and between-play "down time". More than likely, all punts, kickoffs, and extra point kicks will be included, as they were in '03 Pats DVD (most of the punts & XPs were not included in the '02 Bucs platter). The footage will most likely be from the TV broadcast, not NFL Films. Sorry, it probably won't include the halftime show...
- ESPN pre-game prediction & post game analysis shows with Merrill Hoge & Ron Jaworski.
And there ya have it... maybe.
