Rating: Summary: awesome performance Review: I've had mine about a week and it's working great. Best picture I've ever had, better than the Sony 799 and Toshiba M-755 I tried recently. It has some kind of noise reduction that completely eliminated the picture noise that the others had. Still/slow/search pictures were also better than others. Recording was perfect on regular tapes in SVHS-ET mode. Excellent jog control on the remote.but the way they do some things left me shaking my head, like: * not being able to view the channels while adding/removing channels, something that seems to be 'popular' now :( * no time search, just index * can't change volume of TV (or any TV function) with remote unless you hold down 2 buttons at once ("TV" button and function), unless you have a JVC TV * funky display characteristics, like how it shows graph on screen when rewinding/forwarding - and you can't remove it! so it's great performance with a few design niggles.
Rating: Summary: JVC HRS7600U - SVHS VCR (INSERT,EDIT &AUDIO DUB FEATURES)) Review: It has a terrific picture and great sound especially when hooked into a home theater system. We never watch commercials when we record anymore due to the Commercial Advance feature . I like to record sporting events and some shows to watch after the kids go to bed; this feature alone is worth buting this product. We don't like to watch movie trailers, so now we don't even have to fast forward because of the Movie Advance feature. The fast forward works at 7X speed which is lightening fast so you can use this if you prefer and watch some trailers and not others. Friends who watch recorded events with us can't tell the difference between live TV and the tape. It's very close in picture quality using an S-VHS tape and fairly close using a regular VHS tape in the ET mode. The parent company of JVC invented VHS and sold the technology to other companies. They always have a high end VCR and this model is it. I can't say enough about the value. VCR prices have come down because their life expectancy is now low. We have alot of kids videos and some regular VHS movies and they've never looked and sounded so good prior to our acquisition of this unit. TIVO and REPLAY may be something we'll buy in the future but for now this VCR is making me very happy. There are VCR's that have some other features, but I can't imagine a player that will give you a better picture or better sound. The only Negetive thought I have is the Remote controle is not looking good, when fast forwading the machine will produce unnecessary sound.
Rating: Summary: The Best Until It Breaks Review: My monitor went out and I Am using an old ATI All In Wonder plugged in to My JVC television the picture is a little blurry so I can not tell much what I Am writing, I Am trying to find out if it is possible to have the computer to send a clear picture to the television with out costing Me a bunch of money. Now about JVC HR-S7600U and JVC HR-S9600U Super VHS VCR The HR-S9600U has a nicer remote control and 2 more MB of memory but I can not tell the difference in the performance. Using XG (not SV) Professional Master tape brightness color clear picture it's all there just like a live picture and solid freese frame But the load mechanism is too complicated and weak to say nothing about being slow and after a while it will break. I wish they all were top load the way they used to be simple and strong and fast.
Rating: Summary: Best For The Money. Review: This has got to be one of the best SVHS VCRs versus cost. Many of the features are geared towards video editing, and it does this extremely well. Unfortunately, JVC recognized they made a mistake, by offering such a terrific product, and it hurt the sales of their higher-end HR-S9600U unit. JVC no longer makes either HR-Sx600U series. The latter generations of the 7600, namely the 7800 & 7900, have fewer features, and feel much cheaper when you pick them up. The 7600 was heavy. The 7800 & 7900 are light, and feel as if they would break if you sneezed on them! ;) I am sorry to see the 7600 go. If you are interested in editing your own videos, and you can find one of these, it will be the best VCR you can buy for your $$$.
