As DVD replaces VHS as the home-video format of choice, it makes a lot of sense to buy a TV with a built-in VCR to play existing videocassettes. Panasonic's PV-QM2509 25-inch TV is one of the largest TVs on the market to incorporate a VCR. The mono set uses a PanaBlack picture tube and incorporates an onscreen setup menu. It also includes a V-chip, which conforms to the new Parental Guidance System and allows you to block specific programming; this is a particularly useful feature for a TV with an easy-to-use built-in VCR. The two-head mono VCR has an auto-head cleaner and an auto-repeat mode that rewinds tapes at the end of a movie and plays them back. The TV also incorporates a wakeup feature, which you can set to turn on your favorite TV show in the morning. The PV-QM2509 has front audio-video inputs for a camcorder or other video device (such as a DVD player) as well as a headphone jack.
