Rating: Summary: Great for home or car! Review: I bought this for my daughter's room but I wanted one that we could take along on car trips too. Everyone told me not to get the VCR and TV all-in-one the VCRs in them break easily. Well this has survived a 1,000+ round trip with a seven and a three year old jamming movies in, yanking them out, knocking it off the console and all kinds of other abuse. It still works great! The remote was easy to use and I like the automatic clock set feature! I recommend the TV VCR for anyone with kids!
Rating: Summary: Great picture quality, but audio is poorly designed Review: I have been in the market for a combination TV/VCR for several months. We planned to use it during our many long "road trips" in our minivan. One piece of advice I've consistently received from friends who own these is -- GET A UNIT WITH SPEAKERS ON THE FRONT! In most cars or minivans, these units end up being propped between the two front seats, so the children in the back can easily see. When the speakers are on the SIDE (rather than the front), guess who ends up hearing all of those Barney songs?? You guessed it -- Mom and Dad! Somehow, in a moment of temporary forgetfulness, I ordered this Philips TV/VCR without noticing where the speakers were located. Silly me. When we received the item, we were really distressed to see that not only were the speakers on the SIDE, but there was only ONE speaker .. on the RIGHT side of the TV (left side if you're looking at the screen), which means that the audio blasts into the ear of the DRIVER. Not good at all. So if you are looking for a small TV/VCR to use in your home, and you don't care where the audio portion comes out, then this would probably be a great TV for you. But if it's going to spend a great deal of time in your car or van, I would highly recommend getting a different model. We have been pleased with our replacement TV, which is a Panasonic PV-920. It has speakers both in the FRONT and on the side. I can handle that!

Rating: Summary: Broke and ate tapes Review: We had this unit for six months when it ate a tape and we had to pay to get the tape out. It costs too much to fix so now we have to buy a new unit.
