Rating: Summary: Great VCR for the money Review: (...) This VCR is packed with great features (like VCR+ silver and commercial advance) and has great picture quality even when using my rabbit ears antenna (no cable!). When researching VCR's, I found that the Panasonic name was at the top in terms of reliability. Put that together with the features and it was a no-brainer for me. Great VCR...no regrets.
Rating: Summary: THE ROLLS ROYCE OF VCR'S! Review: ... Incredible picture which is DVD quality, fast, sleek beautiful and 'inexpensive'! Everything operates incredibly well. I highly recommend this item.
Rating: Summary: Is this a joke? Review: After reading the reviews posted here I see that Panasonic must have a serious quality control issue with these units. Mine arrived last week and was easy enough to set up. I didn't record anything for a few days. I recorded a show last Sunday night and could not believe my eyes/ears when I played the tape back. There are some serious tracking issues. Snow all over the screen and a flat, hum-laden audio signal were all I could get out of playback. I spent hours testing verious settings, connections, etc. with the same result each time. I'm returning this VCR pronto and looking at reviews more closely next time.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: Bought a 'scratch & dent' unit from Crutchfield (great company), but I had to send it back. Playback quality of recorded tapes was sub-standard. I really wanted the Commercial Advance feature and it worked correctly about 60% of the time. The biggest pain was trying to use fast forward to get thru a commercial without continually overshooting. Its too fast! (my old Admiral is two speed and much easier to control). The programming interface is also archaic! Having to use the up/dn keys to set the channel, time, and date is ridiculous. It blows my mind that we've advanced so far with all these features yet their implementation is two steps back from what we had in the past.

Rating: Summary: Frustrating Failure Review: Died right after the warranty expired...
Rating: Summary: Poor quality is the halmark of the Panasonic PV-V4621 Review: Have had to return the unit twice (so far). The replacement was worse than the original. Avoid Panasonic products made in Indonesia and Mexico. Products made in Japan are much better.
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: I am electronics illiterate. When my VCR broke down I had no idea how to tell what was good and what was not. Being a single mom, I dont have anyone to help me decide. All I knew was that my 3 kids needed a VCR and quick! I read the reviews other people had given about every VCR from Amazon.com. I got frustrated trying to decipher all the technical terminology. If you are electronics illiterate also, I am here to tell you, I love this VCR. It is easy to operate and rewinds quickly and quietly. I was amazed at how light it was. This is definitely worth the money and I would encourage anyone to purchase this item.
Rating: Summary: Three months and it does'nt work! Review: I bought this VCR in December, it's now March and the picture is gone. the screen is just blue when it is on "play", but if you Fast Forward or Rewind it, you can see the picture. Bizarre! Our other VCRs lasted several years. I contacted Panasonic but have not had a reply. Needless to say, I am NOT happy with this purchase.
Rating: Summary: well, some of its okay Review: I had to stop using SP recording & use only LP or SLP as SP became too grainy after a couple of months. This makes a lot of noise on rewind! The remote has buttons not compatible with multiremotes. The some remote buttons are tiny-- as people have said. Its a pretty cheap vcr now & its the only one I could find with commercial advance other than the go video vcr which is a lot more. Programming it is a drag because you have to hit up/down every time for each minute or hour. I suppose mind needs a cleaning, which I can do to get recording back in SP speed. Fair enough, but there is nothing I can do about the noise on rewind. The buttons on front are larger than usual. The front lcd display shows more than just nbrs, it shows PLAY, REC, etc so you know what its doing., But if you hear a loud whirrrrrrrrr youll know its rewinding without looking at the display. It's not compatible with my Guide Plus feature either, grrrrrrrr!.....
