Summary: So-so performance, cheap price...
Review: I bought this when I had less disposable income and needed a VCR on the cheap. Besides, I thought, DVDs are the way of the future and all I'll ever need a VCR for is to record a TV show once in a while. Though my reasoning hasn't changed, I'd probably get a different VCR.The playback (of pre-recorded and rental tapes) is decent, but anything you record with this unit turns out really, really lousy. On playback (of tapes recorded with this unit) there's always noise in the picture and the volume fluctuates randomly. It's not bad enough that it's unusable, but there have to be better quality VCRs out there for a similar price. I'd stay away from this one.
