Summary: Remote headaches
Review: I have been using a Panasonic 4660 for the last year and half, and have been very pleased with it (great picture/sounds, nice features like automatic commercial advance). I purchased this unit so that we could watch and record tv at the same time. I had no problems connecting the 4611 (unlike other reviewers here), and did not find the motor to be particularly loud.

The unit doesn't suit my needs, though, because all Panasonic VCRs use the same remote control codes. Every time I use the remote, both VCRs would respond. Panasonic tech support suggested a piece of cardboard over the receiver...

Summary: Nice for The Price
Review: I purchased this Video Cassette Recorder from ... and have been very pleased. The only downfall I would say there was is the remote is bulky, but it stands on end and illuminates at the push of a button. Very clear picture, hooks up to my receiver without a problem, and has very fast, quiet rewind. This is a good buy!

Summary: IT WAS BROKEN INTO PIECES INSIDE
Review: I really don't know what could happend to this VCR trough out the shippment but when I received it from UPS it was damaged in such a way that I thougt it was a bad joke..... I opened the box, just took a look of what it was left and inmeditely closed the box, I was really disapointed.
I can't rate this VCR because I never even plug it into the wall.

Summary: POS
Review: I recieved mine as a gift for Xmas, after trying 3 brand new tapes in it and getting the same result, no sound or bad cracking noises, I put it back in the box and returned it. I really cant comment on any of the features because I didn't even get that far.

Summary: Good VCR for the price
Review: I seriously do not know why the people who have reviewed this product have had so many problems with this VCR. I've had mine since last January and have had no problems with it at all. While there's no denying the fact that it is loud, and that the unit is pretty light, this VCR, in my opinion, is pretty close to top of the line. It has good sound and the picture quality is great. The VCRplus+ is also really easy to use too. Just punch in a few numbers and it's ready to go. I also like the remote too. Even though the light feature only illuminates the play, stop, rew., and f.f. buttons, it's just the right size, and it has a very strong sensor (I can hold the remote about 1/2 inch away from a wall, facing the opposite direction, and it still gets a full signal. It's that good.). There's also some other nice features, but I won't get into that. Overall, if you want a nice VCR at a low price, you shouldn't have to look much further than the V4611.

Summary: Oops! Maybe a lemon?
Review: I traditionally buy Panasonic for their great reputation. With this VCR, they lost a loyal customer. It is loud...when playing, recording, or fast-forwarding/rewinding. It feels cheap..light, plastic-y. Remote has a horrible layout - for example, the pause button is in the bottom right corner (about the size of an appleseed), whereas all of the other functions are on the top, middle. Has very few features other than VCRPlus. Picture quality is good on Hi-Fi videos, but only the SP or LP modes are good with recording TV shows. Sound is so-so, although it does do SAP for alternate languages. Overall, I just was really disappointed with this one. If I had to do it again, I'd recommend a JVC in the 100-125 dollar range...very happy with mine.

Summary: Not so good, it broke !
Review: I would have given this no stars, but it did work when it first came. Set-up was ok, it is a bit loud and you can not record and watch a different channel at the same time. ( kinda what VCRs are for )

It was grainy when you record, and the sound was ok.

Now like I said this might just be the unit I got, but I would not buy this again. I am going to spend the extra money and buy something better.

Summary: works great!
Review: I've had NO problems with this vcr. I don't know what everyone else is talking about with problems with their vhs's, but playback has been fine. Also, I do a lot of video editing, and I also hook the VCR up to my computer. I've had no problems while using it in that manner. No kids touch it, so maybe it's a 'adult' vcr (shrug).
And I love the light on the remote.

My only complaint would be the rear a/v hookups. The inputs/outputs don't stick out. Instead, it has a little compartment, where all the inputs are deeper than the rest of the plastic... The inputs are too close together, too deep, and the sides of the plastic hinder you pluging in the rca cables or screwing in the co-ax. But if you set it and forget it (:P) then it should only be a bother once.

Summary: Amazing value
Review: I've now owned this VCR for a number of months & am very impressesd. I bought it... new. it has great features, is easy to understand, and the manual's pretty good. others' reviews say it is light, which it is, but who cares - it just sits on a shelf. unless you're driving your tv cart down hills, the light case shouldn't make a difference.

as light criticisms, I *do* wish the remote had a slightly different button orientation - 'pause' *is* in a weird place.
I also wish Commercial Skip functioned a little differently - you basically fast-forward a minute at a time, rather than some kind of sensor.
HOWEVER, having that feature at all is great, as is 'tape placement', end-of-program-search, VCR Plus features, and a self-setting clock.

For the price, i think it's an amazing find...
