Summary: Great!
Review: I am quite happy with the performance of this VCR. The VCR's display is visible from all over the room and programming is quite simple. The remote's buttons are very small and recessed, making them a little hard to push, but I do find that it keeps buttons from getting pushed by mistake if one of my cats steps on it (unlike my other remotes with large, flush or raised buttons).

The only complaint I have for this product is the manual. There is sufficient information to hook up and run it, but barely. For someone who is purchasing this item as their very first VCR, it would not have enough information - fortunately for me, I have owned quite a few VCR's prior to this one.

All in all, for the price, this VCR has all the bells and whistles you could ask for. It is a great value considering its features!

Summary: A great buy for a high school student
Review: I bought this VCR because I wanted to be able to watch my movies and television shows on tape whenever I wanted, whether my parents liked them or not. It was a great deal and is an excellent product. I must admit, I was a little dissappointed that the commercial skip button was little more than a feature that allowed you to fast forward very quickly for 1-3 minutes, but I still give this product 5 stars. It plays back wonderfully and is very easy to program. I believe that it was the best but for my money, and I shopped around. Even a high school student can figure it out, I did.

Summary: No LP Mode Here
Review: I can't recommend this VCR. It can not record in the LP mode. LP delivers a much better picture than the EP mode.

Summary: best VCR I have ever had
Review: I have had other VCRs but non of them have the features that this one has. the feature that I like is the one in which you can press power then stop and it will stop the progress of the programed recording. One of the other features I like is you can press rew then power and the VCR will shut off after it gets done rewinding.
One of the features I do not like is VCR plus+ because you have to use the tv guide to get the numbers and you have to change that number for ever time and channel that show is on. what I wanted it to do is you tell it the show and it records it no matter if the channel that show is on changes or the time that it is on.

Summary: This is a good value, basic VCR
Review: Not being a TV-o-phile but recording and watching programs infrequently, this VCR does more that I could ever want. It's a good value, basic feature VCR than performs well. The remote control is laid out in a satisfactory way, the VCR is relatively easy to program, playback and record are fine. It has features I won't even use (e.g. VCR Plus recording setup).

Initial setup is quite easy as the VCR is programmed to enter this automatically on first use. The instruction manual is incomplete. Information is missing, hard to find, and poorly indexed. Still, it's just a VCR: minimal fiddling answers most questions. The VCR will playback and record in all of Slow Play, Long Play, and Super Long Play modes (despite comments of earlier reviewer). This is one of those things that is not explicitly outlined in the accompanying manual so a little trial and error was necessary.

As is the trend with electronics, prices are more stable than performance, which increases. This VCR is better than the $110 Zenith VCR I bought four years ago. I've also had good luck with a Panasonic VCR in the past that lasted seven years with no maintenance (not so much as head cleaning) before it started to flake out.

I give the product four stars overall as it's in the budget category, without a lot of bells and whistles. For price and standard features, it rates five stars.

Summary: Read the manual? Good luck!
Review: The VCR is fine, but figuring out how to program the beast is a nightmare. Essentially the manual says one thing, the on-screen instructions say something else, and what actually works is still something else.

Review: Very happy with this product -- easy to use, QUIET, and easy to see from across the room.
