Description:

The ultimate home-theater component for small spaces or small budgets, the PV-DF2702 fits a 27-inch TV and a full-featured DVD player and hi-fi VCR into one attractive unit. Video capabilities include VHS, DVD-Video, and DVD-R playback--ideal for sharing home movies you've prepared using a computer and DVD burner. On the audio front, the 20-inch PV-DF2702 plays both standard CDs and MP3 files saved on CD-Rs or CD-RWs.

The set's PureFlat picture tube delivers a distortion-free picture from corner to corner with precise, brilliant color reproduction and extraordinary clarity. Front and rear A/V input jacks allow easy connection to other home theater components like receivers or decoders, camcorders, and video games.

The DVD player delivers high-resolution video images and high-quality audio. It's equipped with Dolby Digital and DTS outputs so you can connect it to a surround-decoding audio/video receiver and surround speaker system for mind-blowing home theater sound. Those lacking the room or the budget for a full surround system can still enjoy rich-sounding movie soundtracks, thanks to Panasonic's simulated surround-sound effect, which uses the TV's built-in stereo speakers. Additional DVD features include smooth motion scan (up to 100x normal), picture zoom, auto switching field/frame still, and multi-language, multi-angle footage.

The set's four-head VCR comes equipped with 19-micron heads, which deliver the clearest possible picture when recording or viewing in EP (extended-play) mode, and auto clock set, which uses the Extended Data Service signal carried by many PBS stations to set the time. A back-up system automatically resets the time and date within 24 hours of a power outage. VCR Plus+ simplifies VCR programming--just enter the PlusCode numbers (published in over 500 newspapers nationwide, as well as in TV Guide) for the programs you wish to record. One-month, eight-event programming keeps you from having to miss a favorite show when you go on vacation. A built-in FM radio, alarm clock with timer, and a tower remote are also included.
