Description:

Why stack boxes on your TV when it's this affordable to integrate your media playback with your display? The Apex GT2025DVR mates a 20-inch television with a full-featured DVD player and four-head VCR. The set handles music, too, from standard commercial CDs to MP3/WMA music playback from recordable CDs (CD-R/RW). You even get a digital surround-sound output for hooking the set up to your multichannel audio/video surround receiver and surround speaker system.

The 20-inch TV uses a Pure Flat picture tube, which not only looks cool compared to a conventional, bulbous screen, but also provides a high-quality, high-contrast picture--partly owing to the screen ability to reduces reflected ambient light. The GT2025DVR's three-line comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt).

DVD features include fast and slow forward motion, frame-by-frame advance, programmable sequencing, and picture zoom (2x, 4x). The set also features a trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, auto-off, and a remote control.

The four-head, stereo VCR offers one-month, eight-event programming to simplify daily or weekly taping of off-air programs. This player/recorder's four-head design ensures smooth slow-motion play (forward and reverse) and clear still-frame images. If you route the stereo output to an AV receiver, you can even enjoy four-channel (left, center, right, and monaural surround) Dolby Pro Logic mixes from Dolby-encoded cassettes.

The set gives you stereo audio from broadcast programming via Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals. A rear AV output and a DVD-only coaxial digital-audio output (for Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround sound) lets you hook the set up to a surround receiver.
