Summary: True Love Prevails
Review: It was a very good movie. I was glad to see a movie that was about love and not guns, drugs, and sex. The story line was great. The actors really put there heart into the movie and made the charaters come to life. I would strongly suggest that anyone that have not seen this movie, Get It! True Love always prevails.

Summary: Women and Basketball
Review: This is an extraordinary movie. If you think women do not know how to play tough, then you really need to watch this movie. Love and Basketball is an excellent portaryl of how women can deal with love, a broken heart, family issues, peer pressure and still make a living and play the game of basketball with all heart. I recommend the purchase of this DVD to all basketball fans and to those who love a good love story.

Summary: A Black Love Story! Can It Be!
Review: Yes. A Black love story on the big screen. L&B was real life, Black Life! It dealt with all the emotions of falling in love--out of love--and back in love. The intensity displayed in the scene where she played one-on-one for his love was the best acting I've ever seen on the big screen. It was real life, Black life and love. Free Mumia! Shaka Sankofa! The spirit of a true revolutionary soldier!

Review: This movie is the shhhhhh... if you know what I mean. It has a good story and a lot of romance.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Surprising & emotional, Love & Basketball definitely scores.
Review: Quite surprisingly, the Spike Lee-produced released Love & Basketball is an excellent film. It may have a note of corniness during some scenes, but that doesn't stop it from being one of the best sleeper hits of 2000. The film's drama is great and the romance has brilliant chemistry and all the elements stick nicely together thanks to the acting - particularly from amazing newcomer Sanaa Lathan - and Gina Price's clean direction. The scenes I thought were particularly nail-biting were the basketball matches between the two lead characters, the final one-on-one is tense and unpredictable. Also seeing Monica's (Lathan) thoughts when playing basketball was clever and original. All the characters have a good-bad side them, you relate to them, which make these similar but totally different (you'll understand after viewing) creations the best about the film. Come to think of it, this movie shouldn't have the title Love & Basketball. It should have the title Love, Basketball, Family, Gender Roles, Sex, Cheating... and so forth and so forth. This movie deals with so many things in such a great style that the viewer should know just how great its going to be so they don't get literally blown away! A definite recommendation.

Summary: Love. Basketball. Love AND Basketball? Hell yes.
Review: I love basketball, but I hate sappy love movies. This movie though ... is, er, my favorite movie. Ever. Of all time. If you don't have this movie, I will BUY it for you. This movie teaches the lesson that the thing you're looking could be right there in front of your face all along.
