Summary: 3 way race for the championship
Review: 2003 was full of drama absent in recent years. Schumacher wasn't winning all the races and Juan and Kimi were strong challengers right up to the last couple of races. The nit-pickers moan and groan about minor points. The picture is clear and crisp, the sound is adequate, and it's fullscreen!

Summary: Wasting the DVD's Potential
Review: As a fan of Formula One, I can't help but think how good this DVD could have been. Basically, what you have here is a VHS tape on DVD. Sure, the video and sound are better, but this disc makes almost no use of DVD's possibilities. For example, the overwhelming wish of F1 fans is for more in-car footage. Nothing conveys the feeling of speed, the agility, and, yes, the wheel-to-wheel racing that does take place in F1 like the car-mounted cameras do. And yet, all we get is a very basic, sequential report of each race, with all the standard footage including snippets of in-car video. For all it's deficiencies, the year 2000 review video did offer an "interactive" feature allowing access to race, pit, in-car, and telemetry views. The ideal season review disc would offer in-depth coverage of each race as well as access to separate driver's view video featuring the start and at least one full lap of each course. This disc is worth having for the Formula One fan, but future year end reviews will hopefully make better use of this format.

Summary: f1 is the best
Review: Formula 1 is the best form of motor racing and the true world championship. The series visits 16 countries on 5 diffrent continents each season. This dvd will take you from the streets of monaco to suzuka in japan and malasia. You will also see the most technologicaly advanced cars in the world. What else can i say,f1 is trually the best.

Summary: Amazing Schumi
Review: Heres one great DVD for the F1 fans. It covers the full qualifying laps of the pole sitters and the main events in the race. Actions made off and on the track. It even covers the controversy of the Michelins tires being a little too wide. Well arent we all great to see Schumacher trying to work his talents when his car is no better than his rivals. Raikkonen scored his maiden win and so does Fernando Alonso whos two years down the road from his age. Making Alonso the youngest ever driver to win a grand prix. Raikkonen almost winning the championship pondering what it would have been if he had scored points in races he retired such as Canada and Spain, which would make him the youngest f1 driver to win the championship. but he didnt do that of course and Schumacher took his 6th world title barely. Raikkonen and Montoya took it to the wire. And its great to see the making of a new Schumacher, Alonso win his first race. Overall a great video, wether you like it or not its the only way to see these guys, champion in the making battle and find glory in what could be the best years of their career.

Summary: Disappointed with 2003 F1 DVD
Review: I am not a F1 "expert fan" and I was very annoyed that terms are not explained. It was not even clear which track it was. So I did not understand most of what DVD tries to reveal. What I expected and did not get was ONE LAP from driver's viewpoint camera on every track. "Nice to have shown" feature would be car's telemetry (rpm, speed, gear, how hard gas/brake pedal pressed). When cars crashed, I expected to see car's tracking just before spin-out so I could try and guess why driver lost control. So unless you are already a F1-knowledgeable fan, I cannot recommend this DVD

Summary: You must be a fan to appreciate....
Review: I love racing of all kinds, but F1 really gets me going. I never get to see the races on TV so this dvd is the only way that I can see it. I loved every second of it. There could have been a lot more done with this dvd, like more in car shots or rpm shots. But this dvd is basically a review of the 2003 season. That's all you get, just information and video clips of every race of the season. Like anyone else, I would have loved to see more camera angles and hear more engine sounds but this is all we get so I will take it. True, it will leave you wanting more, but you'll just have to get over it unless you can go to a race or find a better dvd, both of which are probably unlikely. So if you're a fan of F1 racing then I promise you'll like this dvd.

Summary: Yet another mediocre DVD
Review: I've been a formula one fan since 1972 and have collected every review of the year since they started coming out. In recent years, the reviews have been fantastic owing to the extra in-car coverage you get and the benefits from having Bernie's own camera crews at every race.So I couldn't wait for this DVD to arrive but when it did, I was disappointed. As F1 fans probably already know, Bernie cut back on his own TV efforts this year to save money and it certainly shows in this video. What you basically get is what you saw on TV when the race was live. There has been very little extra added. Furthermore, the commentary isn't as insightful as usual and does little to analyse how the championship developed. It lacks behind the scenes interviews with drivers and just doesn't build the championship to the crescendo that it actually was. Come on - it was a great year for F1, but you wouldn't get that impression watching this video. Having said that, as a die-hard fan, I still watched it all, but I got my F1-fix by going back a few years and watching the earlier reviews of the year. Here's to the first race in Melbourne.. I'll be waiting with bated breath.

Summary: F1 is da bomb! Simply the best!
Review: I've been eagerly awaiting the 2003 Review. There's woefully little available on Formula One racing; like soccer, it isn't nearly as popular in the US as in the rest of the world. Yet F1 drivers are among the highest paid sports performers in the world. If you like extraordinary cars and the best driving, check this DVD out. You will not be disappointed!

Summary: Yet another mediocre DVD
Review: The DVD mastering is poor. The transfer is solid, good colors, but the video itself- most of which appears to be taken from the lame world feed- is not the greatest. 1) Qualifying is close to all in-car, an improvement over the 2000 DVD. As to how the FIA can manage to govern the most technologically advanced cars on the planet and yet use big ugly low-resolution cameras that drop signals around trees is another story. Don't hit chapter + during qualifying or you'll be treated to 5-10 seconds of a black screen. The menuing on this DVD is very peculiar, though not as overdone as the 2000 DVD. Qualification shows JUST the pole-lap; no other highlights. If you're looking for the spinout that cost Raikkonen pole at Montreal, you need to look elsewhere. 2) The vast majority of the image is from the world feed, so it looks pretty weak. If you taped all of the races on VHS, you're not going to get much better with this. 3) Audio is front-channel only, probably stereo. 4) No practice highlights either. Is it worth it? For completeness, maybe. if you're looking for a reference quality Formula One DVD, you've still got some waiting to do.
