Summary: GREAT EVENT, WEAK MAIN EVENT
Review: I thought backlash was a great ppv dispite what some people say here are how the matches line up

(1) 6 man tag match dudleyz v x factor good opener,I have never seen a bad six man tag match.chicago got what the wanted WOOD!!

(2)hardcore championship rhyno v raven one of the best hardcore matches ever a gore threw a shopping trolley amazing stuff one of the best matches of the night best ten mins i've spent for while

(3)Y2J vRegal good enough match kind of a NODQ match, you knew regal would win!kept you intested threw out though!!

(4)Angle v Benoit 30 min submission match if you like this type of wrestling you will love this, it was ok for those of us who like fast paste action. should have been more submission moves!

(5)Shane v Big show last man standing this is ok as a match but the bump at the end was amazing he must have been 50 feet in the air jumping off the backlash set!!

(6)Matt hardy v christian v eddie for euro belt good match fast action , had some nice moves crowd liked it.

(7)the main event tag match with ever major title in the wwf on the line big build up,big let down not the action we had expected but allright none the less but. Kane and the undertaker are pretty slow so it wasnt going to be brilliant to start of with but good enough ending.

This ppv has its ups and downs but the crowd were into this from start to finish which made it good too my advice buy it because it does have alot of good points and what a bump!!!

Summary: Not too bad for Backlash
Review: This WWF DVD is somewhat of a mixed bag, so I gave it 4 stars.
Here's my breakdown:
The menus:
One of the few animated menus we don't see in the WWF DVDs anymore. Not to mention the music to go with the theme was pretty cool.
The extras:
The interviews are pretty good to watch if you're a fanatic. It's also a good thing to add the extra matches so no one gets confused. Especially the Light-Heavyweight title match, despite the controversial ending.
6 Man Tag-Team Match: Dudleyz (all 3 of them) vs. X-Factor
Pretty impressive display by all 6 men. Especially Albert. The only disappointment is that Spike wasn't used in the match as much as the other two.
Hardcore Title Match: Raven vs. Rhyno (champ)
I'm not into ECW history but I think these two have fought before. And from what I've heard, it was one of the best. The match itself was a truly extraordinary match. But then again, whenever you hear the word, "Hardcore Match," then you're expecting a good match, right?

Duchess of Queensbury Rules Match: Y2J vs. William Regal
This is somewhat of a disappointment majorly. Not only to the fact that the whole thing was rigged right down to the controversial ending, but to the fact that there had to be a "second enforcer" to make up the rules as it went. It had it's funny moments, though.
30-Minute Ultimate Submission Match: Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle
Wow. This match didn't disappoint down to the last second. Never a dull moment with these two.
Last Man Standing Match: The Big Show vs. Shane McMahon
At first, I thought the match would not go anywhere since Big Show barely did any of his "earth-shattering" moves. But it picked up a whole lot with Test's interference and it picked up big time with Shane's 50-foot elbow drop that didn't connect somewhat on the Show's body, but it still had to hurt. Funny thing is, he still came back for more.
Triple Threat European Title Match: Matt Hardy (champ) vs. Christian vs. Eddie Guerrero...Guererro...aw hell, I can't spell his damn name.
An impressive match by all three of these men. Especially Matt Hardy. Considering the fact he won the WWF edition of Fear Factor and the fact that he's Lita's boyfriend. Though I didn't quite agree with Paul's comment that "Jeff won the fight for his brother," because, look, Matt helped Jeff win the IC title, why can't Jeff return the favor? That match was probably the reason I bought the DVD. That and the Submission, the Hardcore, and the Last Man Standing Matches.
3 Titles on the Line: Triple H (IC Champs) and Stone Cold Steve Austin (WWF Champ) vs. The Undertaker and Kane (Tag Team Champs)
This is really a let down. Not only to the fact that the "heels" won the match but that it had to be one in a long line of controversial decisions for the rest of the year. I mean, someone had to beat Austin for once. His one-man crime spree was getting annoying. Especially what he did to Lita. There was a lot of phisicality in the match however.
I will try to post more reviews for my other DVDs.

Summary: The Best Backlash
Review: This event was brill, all the matches. Benoit Angle, Jericho, Regal, all the matches were great. Here is how I rated the matches 1-10

1. 6-Man Tag-Team Match
Dudly Boyz vs X Factor This was a good match except in the match x factor is almost always in control. I rate this 7/10

2.Hardcore championship Match
Rhyno{Champion} vs Raven This is one of the greatest hardcore matches all time. All types of weapons and it is unpredictable who was going to win too. I rate this 9/10

3.Duchess of Queensberry rules match.
Chris Jericho vs William Regal This was a unique match and a good match but it had a poor ending. I rate it 7/10

4. 30 minute ultimate submission match.
Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle The crowd was realy into this match. I Rate it 8/10

5. Last Man Standing.
Shane McMahon vs The Big Show At first the crowd wasn't into it, they probably thought the match would easily be won by the Big Show but they were wrong. I rate this 8/10

6.Triple Threat Europeon Championship Match.
Matt Hardy{Champion} vs Cristian vs Eddie Guerrero This match was non stop action, the crowd was realy into it. 8.5/10

7. Tag team match for the WWF Championship, the Intercontinental Championship and the Tag Team Championship.
Undertaker and Kane vs Stone Cold and Triple H. This was a match I will never forget, the crowd was in it from begining to the end. I rate this 9/10

Summary: WWF Backlash: How to follow up a Wrestlemania
Review: Wrestlemania 17 could be the greatest wrestling pay-per-view ever. So how do you follow that up? By putting on a another great, exciting ppv that makes the WWF look like they haven't lost a step without competition. I have the DVD (Why not?) and it has some nice features.

The interviews are from Regal, The Dudleys (including Spike), Benoit and Big Show. Skip Regal's. Not funny or anythng. If you like the Dudleys, watch that one. Benoit and Big Show do pretty darn well being extremely intense on hurting someone. This sets up all the match histories, four in all. The DVD also includes two extra ('Heat') matches.

Jerry Lynn vs. Crash Holly for the Lightweight Championship match was pretty darn exciting. Short because it was heat but long enough to show both Crash and Lynn can go. Too bad Lynn isn't on TV. Where is he, anyway? Oh well, 4 stars.

The other match between Lita vs. Molly Holly had better wrestling then some men matches I've seen. These two ladies can really go and show it here. A rare 5 stars because it just had it all.

Enough of this DVD extra. You want the matches are here they are:

1) X-Facter (X-Pac, Credible, and Albert) vs. Dudleys (Spike, D-Von, and Buh Buh): A good match with a good ending. The Dudleys did give Chicago what they want: WOOD. 4 stars out of 5.

2) Rhyno vs. Raven: Hardcore Champ Match. This was the best hardcore match I have ever seen (I still haven't seen Hardy vs. RVD Ladder Hardcore match). Rhyno and Raven know hardcore and doing it that way all their lives. 5 stars.

3) Matt Hardy vs. Christian vs. Guerrero: European Champ Match. Great triple-threat match. Fun and exciting to watch. It had good interference but could have been excellent without it. 4.5 stars.

4) Jericho vs. Regal: Dushess of Queensberry match. Rules are told as the match goes along. That was the first problem. The second problem was that you knew Y2J was going to screwed like crazy. Good match between the two but couldn't hold the match up. 3.5 stars.

5) Benoit vs. Angle: 30-minute submission match. Most submissions in 30-minutes wins. It's cool at first, slows down then goes back to being cool at the end. Still a good match but still it left me going 'That's it?' I think i wanted more submission moves. 4 stars.

6) Shane McMahon vs. Big Show: Last Man Standing. Fun and exciting. Shane is a great athlete for someone who isn't suppose to be. Huge Shane bump. Still, I think Shane has done better. 4.5 stars.

7) Austin/Triple H vs. Kane/Undertaker: 3 titles on the line. If Triple H is pinned, he loses his Intercontinental belt. Austin pinned, he loses WWF champ. If Taker or Kane loses, tag team godl belongs to the Two-Man Power Trip. Good match but just didn't seem up to par. The four guys can do more and I've seen them do exciting stuff. 3.5 stars.

Good PPV and was fun. I just wish the main event was a little better. Oh well, the undercard is very good.

Summary: A terrible event in whats been a terrible year
Review: The WWF has plain [bad] in 2001! Since about September 2000, maybe earlier, the WWF was on a downward spiral. It had become predictable and stale, and in 2001 it got much, much worse! Right now they are re-using old storylines, at Backlash they were basically just putting out new storylines but they were ultra predictable and boring. Usually they put on good action though despite the poor storylines, but Backlash failed. The whole card basically [was bad] except for the Hardcore Title match which was good but should have ran longer. People say Big Show & Shane was good, but it was in fact one of the poorest LMS matches ever! The big bump was the only good thing, except that Shane didn't actually touch big show. A really sh!t show compared to the high's of 2001 like WrestleMania and No Way Out.

Summary: triple title match
Review: ok here's the deal i ordere the ppv i'm thinking main event and the sumission match and we get a bad ppv to follow up the best wretlemania ever was i wrong

six man tag match dudly boys and spike vs x-factor good match nothing spacial but enjoyable

dutches of queensbury match y2j vs william regal ok it's chris jericho of course it's gonna be good regal did a great srew job too

last man standing match shane o mac vs the big show ok if you followed the story line you knew test would come out the best part is the end shane o mac falls 30 feet off the titan tron last time i saw somthin like that was when he...well i guess fell 30 feet off the titan tron against steve blackmen

hardcore title rhyno vs raven both great hardcore competitors both gave it thier all one of the best off this ppv

30 minute sumission match kurt angle ve chris benoit predictable ending and they both tapped out of moves they'd never tap out to if it weren't for this type of match (watch it you'll see what i mean)

triple threat european title matt hardy vs christian vs eddie guerro is this a joke? i laughed when matt hardy won the european title then when i heard this match was made i almost died

oh but wait it's the main event 3 title are on the line stone cold (world champion)& the best in wrestling today triple h (intercontinental champion) vs kane &undertaker (tag champs)the best part of this match i seeing kane get beat with a sledge hammer about 17 times in case you havn't figured it out kane sux austin sux the undertaker's cool but triple h will always be "THE GAME"

Summary: GOOD, NOT GREAT , ALTHOUGH A HELL OF AN ELBOW DROP
Review: a knew this ppv was gonna be pretty good and it was. but i wouldnt call it excellent, some people would and i respect that. i rekon the best match on there was the hardcore match rhyno vs raven..my goodness what a great hardcore match that was......this had me on the edge of my seat it made me go ohh and made laugh...they used the trolly very well.....highlight in this match is when rhyno miises the spear and goes right through the trolly....and you have to listen to the shots with the road signs ... it echoed through the arena...one of the greatest hardcore mathes ever! it was fast paced non stop action! a 5+ star match! the jericho vs regal match was ok but a bit silly as the rules kept changing every time jericho would have the win....really funny near the end.... the iron man match with benoit vs angle was good...especially for technical wrestling fans...picked up well near the end.

the main event! the championship match was ok..it was tag for 3 titles which was good....nothing special happened.....i rekon the tag match at fully loaded with kane and foley vs taker and austin better. the last man standing match was pretty good...nothing really happened during the match but at the end was one of the mose amazing things a wrestler has done in the wwf...shane did the damdest elbow drop...see it to beleive.......a 3.5 star match just for the elbow drop....the bigshow needs take a few hits .

all up this ppv is pretty good..a must get for a fan of shane. if you are a giant wwf fan do get this one.....you want be upset...other wise hire before you buy...everyone has there own taste!

Summary: Backlash, underated!
Review: Okay I gave it an actual 31/2 stars out of 5. This ppv was a descent follow up to the greatest ppv ever WMX7. Trying to surpase it would not be easy. I think the Rock's movie career made this backlash different from the previous two. After the prior two wrestlemanias (15 and 16), we had a return bout of sorts, like Austin and Rock at Backlash'99, and the rock vs. hhh at last years backlash. This year with the rock going into showbiz, the wwf had to start over with a new storyline, instead of riding through wrestlemania, and into backlash. For myself, it may not have been the best of the three in this series, but it was as entertaining. And one more thing, am I the only one who can stand a tag team main event every once and a while? This main event put four of the top tier of the wwf in an awesome tag team for the wwf title, i.c. title, and the tag team titles. This match was in it self worth the money. Plus the hardcore title match between raven and rhyno was both extreme and hillarious at times. The only problem I had with this ppv was the Dutchess of Queensbury rules match; the match itself was good by why have distracting rules to interfere in such a good followup to their WMX7 match? I do recommend this dvd,and the extra matches were cool. Backlash was better than people admit, and if you are a serious wwf fan like me. Then I strongly recommend it for you.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Backlash 2001, Extremly Average
Review: Backlash, it was alright. The Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit match was good, as was the Hardcore title and the Last man standing. I could tell that the main event would be a miss because there was really no hype for it. Also, a tag match for the main event? Come on! The DVD extras are pretty cheap too, 4 match histories (they show them during the event) 2 Xtra matches (there is a reason they were on Heat, but there was a title change) and a few interviews. Not an awfull PPV, but I've seen much better.
