Summary: Good PPV
Review: Good PPV for the lack of the Man-Triple H. Van Dam and Hardy put on another showstopper in their rematch for the hardcore title. But this time lets include Ladders. They put on some amazing moves with the ladders. Those two should have been sore that next day. Austin vs Angle for the WWF title wasn't bad. The ending was kinda [bad] the way it turned out. But did Angle bleed like a stuffed pig. And finally the WcW title match was better then I thought it would be. But come on who didn't think the Rock would come back to PPV after a 4 month absence and not win the match and the title

Summary: WWF SummerSlam 2001
Review: It only took four months but the WWF finally has a pay-per-view they can be truly proud of in SummerSlam 2001. After putting together one of the best all-around WrestleManias ever, the WWF has laid back, enjoyed its monopoly on the televised wrestling business and coasted along in a haze of mediocrity. In doing so, they have bungled the WCW/ECW invasion angle so badly that it will go down as the greatest screw ups in the Federation's illustrious history. The critical error has cost the WWF in a big way across the board but the planning of and the execution of SummerSlam 2001 might just pull the angle out of the fire and encourage the occasional fan to give it and the WWF another look.Here are the results: Lance Storm vs Edge (WWF Intercontinental Championship Match) = 85%
What a great opener! Fluid, crisp back and forth action from Edge and Lance Storm really got the crowd all jazzed up for the remainder of the card. As Edge was announced a contingent of WWF wrestlers was shown in the back preparing to watch the match. Christian shouted to the others....That's my bro! Christian interferes and spears Edge down by mistake as Lance steps out of the way. As Storm worries about Christian and the referee, Edge gets the pinfall following the Buzzkiller. APA & Spike Dudley vs Dudley Boyz & Test (Six-Man Tag Team Match) = 50%
Rock 'em & sock 'em encounter that was better then you thought it might be. Poor Spike Dudley is thrown over the top rope and through a table. Shane McMahon dives into the ring and brains Bradshaw with a steel chair. Test pins Bradshaw. Tajiri vs X-Pac (WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship/WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match) = 75%
More rip-roaring action. Great spot has X-Pac miss his Bronco Buster, Tajiri hanging him on the Tree of Woe and doing his sliding buzz saw kick deal. Tremendous! Albert comes down to the ring and climbs onto the ring apron. The Japanese Buzzsaw spits some red mist into his eyes. When Tajiri turns around he falls victim to the X-Factor. Chris Jericho vs Rhyno = 70%
Not a good night for Chris Jericho. He messes up two big moves as he slips off the ropes twice. Jericho leaps off the top rope to the floor where Rhyno is waiting to hit the Gore in mid-air. Stephanie distracts the referee. Y2J pushes the referee out of the way and kisses Steph. The Man-beast kicks out of Chris Jericho's Lionsault. Jericho is put in the Walls of Jericho by Rhyno. Y2J reaches the ropes to break the hold. Rhyno misses another Gore and Chris Jericho rolls him into the Walls of Jericho. The Man-beast taps out. Stephanie has a fit and leave Rhyno behind as she heads to the back in a huff. Jeff Hardy vs Rob Van Dam (WWF Hardcore Championship Ladder Match) = 75%
Not as good as it looked on paper but still quite entertaining. Lots of tricks with the ladder but not many big suicidal bumps by either man. Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy fight at the top of the ladder, RVD grabs the belt and basically falls off the ladder with it to claim the WWF Hardcore Title. DDP & Kanyon vs Undertaker & Kane (WWF Tag Team Championship/WCW Tag Team Championship Steel Cage Match) = 50%
Like the previous match, not too bad but not great either. Kanyon is about to escape the cage. Kane is stopping him as he climbs. Undertaker tells the Big Red Machine to let him leave. Kane does. Kanyon flees. DDP is taken apart by the Brothers of Destruction. Undertaker dedicates the Last Ride on DDP to his wife. The American Badass pins DDP winning the WWF Tag Team Titles for him and Kane. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Kurt Angle (WWF Championship Match) = 90%
The match itself was a grand piece of ring work and storytelling until Stone Cold started taking out the officials. He went through about three or four WWF refs then Alliance official Nick Patrick showed up. Kurt Angle had hit the Angle Slam on Steve Austin and clearly had him beat. Nick called for the bell and disqualified the Rattlesnake for abusing the officials. Kurt was declared the winner but because the Bionic Redneck was disqualified he retained the WWF Title. Angle got his revenge by punching out Patrick and putting him in the Ankle-lock. Booker T vs The Rock (WCW Championship Match) = 70%
Returning the salvo that was launched when Stone Cold Steve Austin defected to the WCW-ECW Alliance and took the WWF Title along with him, The Rock captured the WCW Title at SummerSlam defeating Booker T, a move that is bound to fuel talks of a World Title unification down the road possibly at the next WrestleMania. WCW Chairman Shane McMahon interfered often on Booker's behalf hitting the People's Champion with the WCW Title when the official wasn't looking. Shane's shenanigans were put on hold as the APA arrived on the scene. Running away from Faarooq, Shane O'Mac walked straight into a vicious Clothesline from Hell delivered by Bradshaw. The Boy Wonder was up again though pulling the official out of the ring just as the Great One drove a People's Elbow into the Book's chest. An enraged Brahma Bull gave Shane the Rock Bottom on the arena floor to finally put an end to his constant interruptions. The Rock stepped back into the ring and the Bookerman nailed him with the Axe Kick. Showboating, Booker T did the famous Spinaroonie taunt as The Rock sprung back to his feet. A shocked Booker T was hoisted into the Rock Bottom and dropped for the three count. The Rock became the new WCW Champion in the first attempt of his career. Even though the finishes of the main events left a lot to be desired, SummerSlam 2001 was a fine example of the caliber of entertainment the WWF is really capable of if everyone involved puts some pride and creativity into their work instead of "dogging it" because they currently have no competition to speak of. SummerSlam 2001 was a rare happening. It is not often that a Pay-Per-View is of such high quality that there are no wasted matches on the card. Even the very worst match - the APA & Spike Dudley against the Dudley Boyz & Test - wasn't a total write-off. With the wide-ranging talent base the WWF has to draw from now there is no excuse for them not to put on a Raw, Smackdown or Pay-Per-View that features the very best they have to offer. The fans and the WWF should expect nothing less.

Review: WWF SummerSlam 2001 probrably has the best WCW/ECW/WWF card there is to make. There where alot of great matches, like the Double Main Event, the ladder match and more. Put this PPV had one major problem that probrably made what could have been the best PPV of the year, to a pretty good one, ALL OF THE MATCHES WHERE TO SHORT. Here our how the matches rate: Intercontinental Championship Match: Lance Storm vs. Edge-7/10-The match got better and better as it went on, I think it was good and a nice choice to start off the event. 6-Man Tag Match-6/10-Good match, I think the APA needs to be the Tag champs, nice ending, short. WCW and WWF Lightheavyweight titles on the line: X-Pac vs. Tajiri-7/10-Good match, both wrestlers are great and entertaining, way to short. Chris Jericho vs. Rhyno w/Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley-6/10-Could have been alot better, the "mega gore" spot was cool, kind of slow, the ring rope thing isn't as bad as people say but still makes the match look bad. Too slow, short. Hardcore Ladder Match: RVD vs. Jeff Hardy-8.5/10-This match could have been a true classic, but it was way too short. Nice spots, RVD blew one that could have made the match a hell of alot better, but still, I blame it on time. Cage Match for WCW and WWF Tag Team Title: DDP and Kanyon vs. Undertaker and Kane-3/10- Here is what pisses me off, this match sucked, no one cared about it, no one wanted to see it, and if it wasn't for this match being on the card, the other matches could have been longer. WASTE OF PPV TIME!!! WWF Championship:Stone Cold vs. Kurt Angle-8/10-I liked this match, the ring post idea was good, Angle kicks out of 4 stunners, good planning for the match. WCW Championship: Booker T. w/Shane McMahon vs. The Rock-8/10-I like The Rock's humor and everything, but went it comes to wrestling he sucks. But this match was great thanks to BOOKER T, I think the match was very entertaining and fun to watch, The APA coming out was cool and The Rock give Shane what he deserves. Fun match, great way to end SummerSlam. Overall it was a good PPV which could have maybe even beat WrestleMania if the matches where longer and there weren't so many missed spots. I think they should have let it be 4 hours like WrestleMania X-Seven. Probrably my 3rd farvorite PPV of the year, only behind Royal Rumble and of course, the best of the year, WrestleMania X-Seven. DVD Extras include, the Women's match from Sunday Night Heat, Interveiws from Heat, What happened the next night on Raw (Austin Appreciation Night) and more. It looks like the DVD was kind of thrown together though. On a side note, if you go to the matches list and click on WWF Championship it will send you to Booker T. vs. The Rock, if you click WCW Championship, it will take you to Stone Cold vs. Kurt Angle, careless mistake. Overall good event, BUY IT!

Summary: Hot Show, Bad Booking
Review: Everything on this show, besides the usual ... from UT and the Acolytes, is amazing. Starting with an amazing Storm v. Edge matchup, all the way to the match of the year in Austin v. Angle. Man those two are so good its scary. The main problem with this show is that the wrong people go over in almost every match. There was no reason what so ever for Rock to go over Booker T and there was no reasson what so ever why that should have been the main event. They had to come on after a godlike performance from Angle and Austin and could not match it. Anyway just jump past the two bad matches and the rest is GOLD.

Summary: An okay PPV
Review: SummerSlam 2001 was a good PPV from top to bottom, with some good matches and some weak ones. Let's review, shall we? Edge vs. Lance Storm- Good technical action. Enjoyable, from two good wrestlers. Storyline development is there and the match is fun to watch, and really picks up as you go along. Spike and the APA vs. Test and The Dudley Boyz- Okay for a six man, but nothing special. A very unimportant match, subpar but not terrible. Tajiri vs. X-Pac- I loved this match. It was very entertaining with great in ring action. Very enjoyable and watchable, definitley the sleeper of the card. Rhyno vs. Jericho- This was okay, but I was expecting alot, and with the sloppy missed spots and below average working from both competitors I found it dissapointing. A good match, but it should have been great. DDP and Kanyon vs. The Undertaker and Kane- TERRIBLE. I mean this is painful to watch. It is a sqaush cage match with wrestlers who don't work well together. Brutal. RVD and Jeff Hardy- Great showstealer. Amazing spots, but missed spots make it seem sloppy (I hear that there were problems with the ropes), and stop it from being classic. Very good match though. Booker T vs. The Rock- Even though I was excited for his return, I must admit that I was reminded why I was never a huge Rock fan. Very average. Good, but not great. Rock matches all seem the same to me. Stone Cold vs. Angle- This was a great match. Good technichal action, very suspensful. Bloody. I wish the ending hadn't been so weak, but still a great match. Overall a good PPV that I would recomend to any wrestling fan.

Review: This was a not bad PPV overall. True, there aren't any over-hyped, popular WCW stars (Sting, Goldberg.. etc etc..) but, it is well worth owning.But the real action is at streetbrawls.com Never, in my long wrestling-watching life, would I thought I would ever see WCW/ECW vs the WWF. The RVD (Rob Van Dam) vs. Jeff Hardy match is a classic if you ask me. The bra and panties tag match too! >=) Two of many reasons to own this one of a kind.

Review: On a scale of one to ten I would give Summerslam 2001 a 7.5. It was solid but it really could have been more if a few things had not happened. Summerslam 2001 was a big improvement over the disappointing Summerslam 2000 event. This event cannot come close to equaling the excellent Summerslam 98 and Summerslam 99 events. ....

Review: This has been one of the best if not the best ppv of the year... I sure thought it was better than Wrestlemania... matches included Ladder Match RVD vs. Jeff Hardy(show stealer), Kurt Angle vs. Stone Cold, The Rock vs. Booker T, Plus Taker tought DDP his lesson once and for all in a CAGE MATCH.. and many more great matches. Did I forget to say that Stephanie McMahon was wearing some short, shorts! and she gets smooched on by non other than Y2J who took on RHYNO in another great match up... I was there in person and trust me it was Great... I sat 3rows from the ring! *Extra features include: Women's Match on HeAT this match was right before the PPV. Undertaker and Kane are interviewed as well as Booker T & Shane O Mac. Austin Appreciation Night along with the alliances version of "Wind Beneath My Wings" Renamed to "Wind beneath our ring" led by the beautiful Stephanie McMahon, Shortly after the song KURT ANGLE comes out in a MILK TRUCK! And Hoses the alliance down!!! HILARIOUS!

Review: SummerSlam was the 3rd best ppv of the year behind Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble. The show kicks off with an Intercontinental Championship Match between Edge+Lance Storm. This match is a good match to start with. Rhyno takes on Jericho in a great 1 on 1 encounter. RVD and Jeff Hardy fight for the Hardcore Title in a LADDER MATCH which is brilliant. The Undertaker and Kane face Kanyon and DDP inside a steel cage for the wwf and the wcw tag team championships. Then The Rattlesnake takes on Kurt Angle with the wwf championship on the line. This is the best match of the night. The main event is for the WCW Championship with Booker T vs The Rock in another great singles match.
